Had to delurk to say - Poor Artem! What on earth are they doing to him over there! That wig!!!

Bejazzled · 28/10/2016 01:15

This a DWTS clip. Artem got 80s as his choice of "era" ( theme week) and ended up doing a tango to bon jovi.
He looks like Captain Jack met Rock of Ages.
He and Maureen (older actress, he seems to only get the oldies stateside) were eliminated after he tripped and she messed steps.
Enjoy!

Really enjoyed the Ian dances, him more than DB but must grudgingly admit have warmed to her a bit more remembering she can dance and not just 'judge'.

And Louis and Flavia - recall how pleased I was that he won. Love Flavia too.

And have a soft spot for Dirty Dancing as first watched it in a country behind the 'Iron Curtain' back in the day, where all was grey and gloomy. Film was cheesy and saccharine and Western and colourful and wonderful. They couldn't afford dubbing or subtitles so it was in English. A watermelon Shock Highlight of my week was finding any fruit or veg at the market. Dirty Dancing was quite a tonic.

AlaskanSnow · 28/10/2016 12:23

My fb timehop a couple of weeks ago was a grumble about the Louis and Flavia salsa - 2 weeks before they did that, a friend and I recreated the dirty dancing lift at a party and it went quite well. Then Louis pulled that off, and now we can never do it again!

Bejazzled · 28/10/2016 12:34

Thanks kimmy
Strangely attractive ! 😁

TimTamTerrier · 28/10/2016 19:41

Just watching ITT. Is it just Elaine Paige's make up making her mouth looking a bit odd, or has she had some work done. There isn't much moving above the cheekbones.

Millimat · 29/10/2016 07:18

Am I alone then in that I love Halloween week?Halloween Hmm

StrictlyPan · 29/10/2016 09:31

No Millimat I like the Halloween theme! Having said that I can't remember any stand out dances over the years. The 'sexy vampire' efforts are fully appreciated, of course, but on occasion the over-worked costumes can interfere with the overall presentation of the dance.
But the horror theme I like and esp the dramatic make up and not being able to identify who is actually under all of the art work.

ppeatfruit · 29/10/2016 10:32

I like it too Milli as long as it's not too ridiculous, it should be bit of fun like Halloween itself IMO.

I'm not sure that Katya's idea of R. Rinder being a moth and her a butterfly is quite horrific enough Halloween Grin or Halloweenish enough Halloween Grin .

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 29/10/2016 11:04

Halloween stand outs for me...
Pixie's electrifying Tango (danger! danger! high voltage)
Jason's bewitching quickstep
Patrick's hexy quickstep
Frankie's wicked tango (defying gravity)

...and for pure entertainment value
Allison's Wuthering smooth
Haliona's non tango to Psycho killer
Kimbot's red riding hood paso (c'mon it was Duran Duran)
Anita's maleficent waltz

Could probably watch Brendan's timewarp jive, Holly's dying swan and Chelsea's potion no. 5 boob of a tango too.

Am looking forward most tonight to Oti as a corpse bride. Have goosebumps already.
Also paint it black as a tango (was disappointed never got to see Jerry Hall's)
And for entertainment the moth paso should be...err...something.
Happy Halloween!

I was watching Harry and Aliona's psycho killer last night, I'd forgotten that he kills her very dramatically. It was so good, perhaps a little more content needed, but exciting to watch.

Louis Smith's halloween zombie dance was terrific too. That was a tango as well, it suits horror much better than some of the others. I can't imagine a scary samba.

ppeatfruit · 29/10/2016 11:27

Oh I meant to say when you were all talking about Louis, he was fab u.lous. I do love Ore too. he was sweet last night on ITT.

TimTamTerrier · 29/10/2016 11:29

Was Helen and Aljaz's halloween dance a samba or a salsa? I remember it was all bandages to Take Your Momma. It wasn't very dark, as far as I can remember. I must YouTube it.

ppeatfruit · 29/10/2016 11:36

I don't remember Tim I liked the bit they showed of it last night, I thought that Helen could look great in bin bag Halloween Grin

AlchemySchmidtsSmile · 29/10/2016 11:38

Samba. It was original at least. But Halloween Hmm they did not sing Mummy rather than mama, you know, seeing as that was the tenuous link!

HalloToJasonIsaacs · 29/10/2016 11:42

It was before they did formal Halloween week but Camilla and James' "doll murderer" tango to Mein Herr was excellent and very creepy - the judges had been complaining that he wasn't leading properly so this was Camilla's riposte.

Good one Jason.

HalloToJasonIsaacs · 29/10/2016 12:32

And for those who haven't seen it, here's Benedict Cumberbatch's running commentary on Rob Rinder's jive

www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/37762319/benedict-cumberbatch-reveals-that-he-knows-strictlys-judge-rinder-as-rob-rinder
Video is about half way down the page.

AlchemySchmidtsSmile · 29/10/2016 12:52

Ah Benny Cucumberpatch ™ I would love him to turn up in the audience so the cameras can go for reaction shots like they did with grumpy Bruce Willis on DWTS. (™Monkseal) He was always Bendydick to me though.
Okay. Last festive vid then there is work to be had. Derek and Bindi (I loved Bindi for her joy, determination and drive as I loved Holly for her ambivalence).

NC but so excited! Going to see the show tonight for the first time

Had to get tickets validated so arrived in the queue around 6am - with 100 or so in front of me. Lovely atmosphere, people saving spaces of strangers who needed the loo and coffee runs. Doors opened at 9am and we got our numbers

Need to be back there at 3pm so eating macdonalds and getting glammed up - could do with a snooze but don't think we have time

Halloween Grin
