Aww congrats on your baby, Moonrise. Newborn + 2 year old is tough. I thought it was difficult with DD2 when DD1 was 2 1/2. But have a 22 month gap between DD2 and DD3 and that is hard work. DD3 is 5 months now and it's getting a lot easier. Flowers

I can't believe dancing 3 weeks after a C-section!

ThursdayLastWeek · 26/10/2016 21:57

I really can't think dancing 3 weeks after a c section is a good idea. Mental. She must have amazing health insurance!

CaveMum · 26/10/2016 22:13

Congrats Moonrise, I'm currently up the duff with #2 and DD will be just 3 when this one arrives. I'm deluding myself into thinking it can't be that hard, right?!

GrouchyKiwi · 26/10/2016 22:18

CaveMum You might get a good sleeper? I found the first couple of months really tough with three and then it got a lot easier. Or I stopped caring how much TV the older two watch.

DD1 likes Strictly. Daisy and Aljaz are her favourites.

Bejazzled · 26/10/2016 22:20

Marking place, thank you 🙂

MoonriseKingdom · 26/10/2016 22:35

Congrats Cavemum. When are you due?
My DD1 had her 2nd birthday 10 days before DD2 was born. DD1 has taken the arrival of a sibling pretty well so far. I am enjoying lots of newborn cuddles but wish she'd do more sleeping at night.

MrsJamin · 26/10/2016 22:43

I wish they would drop Halloween week, they've clearly run out of songs that haven't been done before! I'm intrigued about Greg's rumba, that's going to be tricky for him, right?

ellenanora5 · 27/10/2016 02:39

Thanks ppeatfruit Smile he's always been my favourite, since the Natasha days, when it was a one off for children in need Smile

I really want him to replace Len, they have had a love/hate relationship for years so I think he fits the brief perfectly (10)

And I think Len has a healthy respect for Brendan

CaveMum · 27/10/2016 06:43

Thanks Moonrise, I'm due in April so still pretty early stages (16 weeks). I'm hoping the newbie is like his/her big sister who was/is actually a good sleeper and slept through totally from about 8 months old and even now only wakes up if she's ill

Back to the dancing, I've said it before: the theme weeks annoy me! Get back to the purpose of the show: dance! I would dearly love them to go back to the days of each week only two different dances so that you can compare them properly. They used to do it, and it meant things like the Charleston, Salsa and Argentine Tango weren't brought in until much later leading to better quality dances. But I know the Producers think the public find that boring Hmm

Fiderer · 27/10/2016 08:35

Agree with that Cave

And also didn't know about your new LittleDancer. Congratulations! FidBoy2 was a much better sleeper than his brother and both of them were so chuffed with each other. Then their sister came along and the same. Do recall a few grim bits re sleep but on the whole, I loved it.

It's the teenage years that are driving me to drink. Luckily there are outbursts of loveliness amidst the days when the 3 of them are in full swing.

ppeatfruit · 27/10/2016 09:08

Hey a fabulous theme started on ITT yesterday called Zoe's Dance Card and Pasha (cuteness personified) Halloween Blush taught her the Paso Doble, it was great, the audience was instructed to join in so I know how to do it now!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 27/10/2016 10:14

Thanks for the new thread Smile

I actually don't mind the hallowe'en show too much, but I think it would be better if every other week wasn't approaching a theme week... Agree the music's a bit rubbish too now. I'd just like a foxtrot to Witchcraft or something!

ElspethFlashman · 27/10/2016 10:21

Another with 2 under 2 here! Thank God the 2nd was an easy baby that's all I can say!

I HAAATE Halloween week with a passion. Fucking boring Frankenstein costumes and sexy vampires and bloody Monster Mash. Halloween Hmm

ppeatfruit · 27/10/2016 13:55

Oh and Judge Rinder and okshana are wearing moth and butterfly costumes !!!!! Very horrific Halloween Grin not!! God knows what it'll be like! Maybe a vampire moth ??

Theromanempire · 27/10/2016 17:57

I have just realised what the judges reaction/scoring to Ore and Joanne's jive was like...that of Peter Andre's Charleston which was massively over scored with all the 10's (particularly in a series where Jay's jive had only scored 1 10 Confused).

Ore's jive was better than Peters dance but I still think that it clearly demonstrates there is a hidden agenda!

GColdtimer · 27/10/2016 18:11

I agree about Halloween week - they are scrapping the bottom of the barrel a bit! I am worried for Greg. Does anyone know what date the final is? 10th or 17th? Am trying to arrange a night out but dds will not forgive me if I go out on final night!

iklboo · 27/10/2016 18:32

Looks like it may be the 10th - gives a wee break before the Xmas special.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 27/10/2016 18:37

Moth and butterflies? What the why? I thought they would do the monster route with it being called Born this way. Maybe too soon after the horrors of Pash and Carol. Quite like Mr and Mrs Death for Paint it black though.
Lots of tracks have not been used over here yet...
Werewolves of London/She wolf/ Black cat/ Black widow/Cry little sister/numerous Danny Elfman tracks/ Heads will roll/Don't fear the reaper (slowed down version from Scream or the Originals for a rumba)/Haunted/Strange and beautiful/Gomez and Mortician waltz/ Dem Bones/Lovecats/People are Strange/Killing moon/Devil came to Georgia/That ole devil called love....It drives me mad that they are using non Halloween tracks when there really are so many. Some of the above have been used on DWTS so not sure why they wouldn't work over here.
Someone asked about music on thread #4. On Monkseal's blog another poster reposted Jeremy's comments on that: namely a bloke called Matt is largely responsible now for the choices and arrangements. In the comments section:
monkseal.wordpress.com/2016/10/25/strictly-come-dancing-14-it-takes-two-week-5/#comments
Some people are afraid of moths but tenuous.
