Judge Rob still has a face I would never get sick of kicking. Grin Just ease up on the OTT expressions please!!

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 15/10/2016 23:06

^Sorry that was in reply to roman and should also have had a smiley Smile

Marbleheadjohnson · 15/10/2016 23:08

Oops posted too soon. I thought Ore's jive was alright but not a 39. Jay's was better in my opinion, more effortless. And obviously Jill is Queen Jive.

Rachel's rumba was a 39 and that was pretty much perfection for me. And that was a high score in mid-November. Sophie's Charleston was also pretty perfect, but scored less than Ore. I am not sure that Ore deserved 39.

Ooh good spot marble
I loved Patrick.
You forget how many diner/ice café dances you know, you know! Grin
Patrick vs Ainsley vs Daisy vs Peter

StrictlyPan · 15/10/2016 23:10

Aliona says she would have had a sudden injury, getting 4 of our kids off a bus if she had Ed. Smile Like she did with Zoe's dad but that was before we were an item so I let that go. Grin

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 15/10/2016 23:13

Runaway is an excellent track though. Like Beggin'. I am totally aware of how music, costume and theming influences me far far too much.
That said, I was amazed at how well Judge Rinder did with bloody Boom bang a bang and Lederhosen! Most contestants would e dead in the water with that Grin His sarkiness about the music on the VT endeared me to him as well.

Marbleheadjohnson · 15/10/2016 23:14

Anya is such a goddess. I'm obsessed with Pasha but when I've seen them dance together on tour I cannot keep my eyes off her, not even Pasha distracts me Grin it's a shame she only did one series. I also miss Iveta.

I like Oksana and Katia a lot though. Ola is not missed for me.

StrictlyPan · 15/10/2016 23:16

Yes the Jordan's aren't a big miss are they?

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 15/10/2016 23:18

Grin Pan
Flowers to the lovely Aliona.
(although I saw a Keith Lemon - I know Blush - Strictly sketch yesterday so now your girl will only ever be Areola to me).

StrictlyPan · 15/10/2016 23:19

That apostrophe snuck in there unwarranted didn't it?

StopLaughingDrRoss · 15/10/2016 23:19

Pan Grin

Marbleheadjohnson · 15/10/2016 23:20

No, I didn't mind Ola but she got a bit stale in the last couple of years. James was an idiot, I did like some of their rumbas they did as pros to guest performances though.

I loved James piping up saying "I have no idea about what's happening with Will, to those asking" (probably no one). It reminded me of Sinitta popping up and saying Brangelina splitting had nothing to do with her.

StrictlyPan · 15/10/2016 23:21

I won't mention that to her Kimmy. Smile

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 15/10/2016 23:22

I miss James Blush
I really do. Some of his routines I loved. I discovered training footage of him and Pammie's AT the other day and ended up watching lots of his routines again. Loved his pasos with Pamela and Denise, his tango with Denise, his foxtrot with Cherie.
Don't miss Ola's knee slides. But she always did very good pasos.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 15/10/2016 23:29

In fairness,.marble Sinitta was toyally taken out of context. She actually said something like ffs I went out with him aeons ago it's none of my business which was deliberately misquoted. Iike Sinitta. She seems a laugh.Would love her on Strictly too.
James has a lot of followers and as he is still in touch with some of the pros (not Karen, never Karen) Wink I daresay some of them thought he might have some insider gossip. I think the pros have been told to button it this year re Anastacia, Tameka, Will.

Marbleheadjohnson · 15/10/2016 23:33

Yea that's true about the context, I just thought the way it was reported was quite funny. A little mean, but I'm sure she'd take it on the chin. She's been dining out on that relationship forever. For what it's worth, I think she's hotter and more interesting than Brad anyway! YES to her as a strictly contestant, she'd be amazing! I guess she wouldn't with her Cowell loyalty...

ThursdayLastWeek · 16/10/2016 06:27

I don't miss James, but I didn't mind him so much when he was on the show. Him and Pamela are up there in my all time favourites I think - especially when Pamela managed to save herself going ass over tit with some crazy jazz hands move Grin

Interestingly I barely remember Holly. Didn't Brendan gave to take over for a week or two because Artem was injured?

Like Kimmy says I'm very influenced by the music and styling. I love a jive to Runaway...not so keen on a Foxtrot to bloody Carly Rae Jepson for example. WTF was that all about? Poor Claudia and AJ, they keep getting all these shitty pop tunes sung by teenagers.

ppeatfruit · 16/10/2016 09:19

Hello all, got here a bit late thanks for the new thread Moonrise I've just read it all fgs!!!!

Well ref. Jay I knew he was ringer at his first dance which was brilliant, his jive was amazing too, I liked him but I prefer Ore because he so amazing at the dance and he's not trained !!!! Shock I love the tears because they are just a real reaction (there's no fakery that's for sure).

Agree about the daft themes, especially on a non -themed week . I reckon it was the ridiculous outfit and dragon, that put Poor Ed off.

What was Tess wearing? it looked the recycling of an old leather workshop!! It did nothing for her.

LaylaTheMiddleAgedWitch · 16/10/2016 10:02

I'm a big James fan too Blush

Did anyone spot Boris Becker in the audience? I'm thinking that he's in line for the Christmas special?

Marbleheadjohnson · 16/10/2016 10:08

Yes, Artem injured his back (in that very jive, I believe) so Holly was paired with Brendan for a while. I loved her and her nonchalance.

Yes, James and Pamela was a good pairing.

PpEatfruit, yes Ed's outfit was so restrictive, he couldn't move his arms properly. And I agree Ore's emotions seem genuine; he's more teary than Pendleton though!

BalloonSlayer · 16/10/2016 10:09

Just chiming in to say I don't think there's any love lost between Danny and Oti. They showed the bit again of him dropping the door on her last week - so I know I wasn't mistaken - and this week when they were interviewed by Claudia there was no warmth between them at all.

Ed was dreadful. Shame, as I have been rooting for him. Think it may be his last week.

But if I could vote someone out it would be Laura. Nothing to do with the dancing but that truly dreadful and cringemaking "I'm getting Mick Jagger to come in to advise us" bit in the intro. Just AWFUL.

ZuleikaDobson · 16/10/2016 10:34

Did anyone spot Boris Becker in the audience?

Well, yes, when Rob Rinder pointed him out.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 16/10/2016 10:35

As if Ore has no dance training with performances like this! But I do like the way it's being spun to amp up the competition between Danny the West End ringer and Ore the humble BBC presenter who didn't realise he had legs until he was taken in hand and sprinkled in Clifton fairy dust!

I think the show worries when they have someone who looks like they might turn it into a runaway win and thus try to amplify the drama and tension, as they did last year when they realised the overwhelming odds being placed on Jay from a very early stage.

ZuleikaDobson · 16/10/2016 10:38

I suspect the Mick Jagger thing wasn't necessarily Laura's idea. Those VTs are always incredibly artificial and cringey, I wish they'd just edit the programme so that they don't have to insert fillers like that while they change the set.

I thought Ore's jive was absolutely brilliant, but I prefer one which seems to have more of a storyline/theme to it. My favourites are Jay's, Austin Healy's, and Scott Maslen's.

MoonriseKingdom · 16/10/2016 11:08

I think last season Jay seemed so set to win from the moment he did that jive. By the time they got to the final it seemed rather anti climatic. Particularly because his show dance was a bit dull and they didn't repeat the jive.

I think it is genuinely shaping up to be a good competition with Danny and Ore the front runners. I'm pleased because I was a bit bored by the end last year.
