That jive was brilliant, and I won't mind so much if he gets to the final with Joanne as long as Kevin is well gone by then, but I know I'm in a minority here but I never liked Jay, he was very good but I just didn't like him.

Judge Rinder should have done away with the silly costumes, he is a good dancer and doesn't need the silly props.

Agree with pp about the themes, no need for them, just dance please, I'm already not looking forward to halloween week, as much as I never minded Peter Andre that image of him is fried into my brain from his halloween week.

Wtf was Ed Balls doing tonight? Was good to see Greg Rutherford giving it some...but I do think that Danny Mac will win the title. Fred Astaire personified!

I miss Artem too. IMO he was the best choreographer.

Kimmy I love the vibe of Holly & Artem's jive but she needed to be crisper and not quite so laid back. Watching Ore's again I was much impressed than the first time I saw it.

That's a really fun jive from Holly and Artem but they hit a speed bump over the last three trick moves, and earlier on there's occasionally a bit of a sense (entirely understandable) that she's clinging to her instructor rather than dancing with him as an equal. I guess that's the eternal balancing act between wanting to see a non-ringer who is on a journey but also wanting to see someone dancing confidently in their own right.

I loved Holly, she was just so coooooool!

Ore was great but everyone's reaction was starting to tip over into being a bit hysterical. DH is not the biggest fan of Strictly and his eyes were nearly rolling out of his head.

I must say, after his previous incarnation as a political heavyweight, I never expected Ed to be such a camp dancer. He was almost quite prissy in the way he tippytoed across the floor over to the dragon; very entertaining .

Why are the judges (especially Len) so desperate for a Clifton win? It was the same last year with Len championing Kevin and Kellie.

I am sure there must be some amazing conspiracy theory whereby there is some Grimsby mafia headed up by Ma and Pa Clifton...

To be honest, in the same way DWTS once wanted an Olympian final (Meryl vs Charlie vs Amy) but the bible belt vote for Candace ruined it...I wouldnot be surprised if The Producers thought it would be a good wheeze to have a Karen vs Kevin vs Joanne (vs Danny) final rather than shouting from Claud9!
You know, rivalry between spouse and relly and ringahs.
Will going, and not being a dead cert, has put the kibosh on that.
That said, both Karen and Jo were due good partners. Only Kev is the anomaly. Either he really brings in the phone calls or Jason really loves his choreo.
I know btw that Holly's jive is not great technically. I just love it because it encapsulates Holly's approach to the whole show plus it was stylish plus her braces broke and she still kept going. Favourite Contestant Ever so I am somewhat biased

On catch up but WOW to Ore. Watched it 3 times now and it was brilliant. Not getting the derision on thread for his emotion at all.

Thought Daisy's rumba was great, Greg and Nat look so good together.

But since the year dot isn't this the best standards ever? Danny was fab though Oti seemed very distant from him. Wonder if something has happened between them.

I think anastacia, naga, Ed and Greg could be in trouble

Have to say that I had inadvertently seen the scores for Ore's dance before watching it and based on those scores, was expecting more than it was. Don't get me wrong, it was outstanding but not worthy of 39 but, as a non-ringah, he is exceptional

Maybe the distance between Danny and Oti has been instigated by his fiancee

I wonder how the crying thing is going to work out for Ore? His support levels have been really really terrible so far according to the polls so it's possible that a "gimmick" (even if it's entirely outside his control) that a few people will love and many will loathe is still an improvement. After all, there won't be a number you can dial for "please kick out Ore, he gets on my tits" until the middle of December.

Hi Pan I have watched him back now again 3x in a row and it is unbelievably fast. I think we're not a nation of criers, not to do with him personally, thinking of the piss-taking Gwynnie got when she got her Oscar. The GBP is more stiff upper lip, hence the outflow of emotion when Princess Di died, as if suddenly everyone's dams had burst, but that said, it could be cos I am rereading Watching The English again. I like Ore. I even liked his tango and cha cha. And he was a great Andre in the comic/sports relief thing. The producers are obviously going for a Danny's not a runaway winner story. And indeed, he might not be. Will be interesting how it all pans out.
How do you think Aliona would have got on with Ed?
