Rachel Stevens' Argentine Tango (and tango, actually) are two of the dances I watch repeatedly and never get bored of.

I also loved the following series final when Rachel and Vincent did a guest tango to Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves. Lisa Snowdon did a cha-cha to the first half of the same song and danced like a drunk auntie. Rachel was perfect though

I think the thing that we don't mention is that Aliona has abandoned the glitz of showbiz for domestic bliss with Pan. This may be real, or just real to Pan. Either way he seems happy. 😁

morningtoncrescent IMHO the best celeb AT there has been on SCD was Mark Ramprakash with Karen Hardy. It gave me goosebumps and, although unusual, the song choice (a Tina Turner track) worked well.

Ah, Mark and Karen were one of the best partnerships there's been IMO, CaveMum. But I'm afraid it's their salsa that lives long in the memory, and not just because of the incident at the start. Done well, the salsa is so much more fun than clowning about in the charleston if you ask me.

I am shocked and appalled at the cynical opinions re me and my beloved Aliona. We will ride them out though, with our usual good grace.

Some years ago when she was new she was getting panned on these threads for all sorts of things and I liked and stood up for her, her 'punkyness', her not fitting in with the usual crowd of female pros, her excellent choreography for her celebs, her not complaining about all of that, her refusal to engage with Ola's bitchiness.
So we live in reduced means now but it doesn't matter to us.

It;s odd though that in all of these years there are no other male posters on these threads. That's odd isn't it? I can't recall any. And worst, just the athleticism, the beauty, the potential for 'too much flesh' (which was an issue a few years ago for a family show) and the role model maleness of some of the dancers, pro and celeb. All of that. You'd think some male MNers would like it?
In RL quite a few chaps I know are seriously into it. Not on MN though. Bless.

It is odd pan as on digital spy there are lots and on Monkseal a few, my favourite being Mikey cos he posts gratuitous pics of male six packs.
My other half humours me cos he knows it brings me joy. Him and DDs even put my Strictly music choices on when I'm stressed as they know I'll just start dancing with TonyBeak in my head. But I don't know how many men are on MN. I only think of you, Tiggy, PigletJohn and SillyBeardyDaddyman oh and AverageGayLad. You guys are MN by default.

You are welcome millimat I might have gone down that rabbit hole last year Kristina had a blog, as did Tristan and Robin did an interview where he said a bit too much on how the show works. Whatever we think about the music though, it still beats DWTS hands down...I must be getting old but the choices in the last two series have been dodgy as hell.

Did anyone notice that THE LIFT of Ed n Katya's was explained on ITT last night? But no one said if they practiced in her dress which may have been the reason why she was slipping ( I liked the dress with the divided skirt). We saw her practicing it in her leggings which would have been better.

I totally agree with you 228agreenend About SCD needing a whole TRADITIONALLY themed weekend. None of the stupid props and costumes (fine for Halloween etc. but not all the effing time [thlgrinn]

Fleckle seems a more sensible spelling than fleckerl to the British eye I think - perhaps it's German?

I quite like Darcey although I think we need a proper ballroom/Latin judge next time.
