Wow, Polka, must have been cool to wear that.

Watching ITT. They've just had Chloe and Neil do Karen's segment and I liked both of them on it. Chloe didn't say "a whole nother" and it turns out that Neil is quite handsome.

CaveMum · 17/10/2016 19:22

I'm very Envy that you have Ola's dimensions Polka.

They used to put the measurements up for all the dresses and I remember thinking I might just squeeze into one of Erin's if I wore 3 pairs of Spanx! Sadly that was pre-DD and my ribcage has expanded several inches since!

StrictlyPan · 17/10/2016 23:54

Wow Polka for the dress! Well done you! I'd be pleased to squeeze into Ed's chain mail!
Not really but to wear a stunner of a dress like that must be utterly fab.

ThursdayLastWeek · 18/10/2016 07:05

Oh my goodness polka I bet you felt faaaaabilous daaaaahling!

Agree with pp about Katyas resting bitch face. Grin

Runny · 18/10/2016 08:12

Neil replied to a tweet I made regarding Strictly under the SCD hashtag last year. I didn't have a clue who he was at the time, and then saw him in a pro dance (he appeared as a backing dancer during the last series). I was mega chuffed I have to say!

SoupDragon · 18/10/2016 09:18

A friend just posted this Gleb footage from DWTS on Facebook. Gleb on a bed and Gleb wet...

ppeatfruit · 18/10/2016 09:20

Yes Grouchy Neil and Chloe were quite good ( I liked the way he demonstrated being like a car and caravan when dancing in hold) Chloe was nervous ,possibly, because she didn't stop grinning Grin.

Oh I forgot to mention that I LOVED the Friday panel on ITT, Jeremy Vine, the very funny Irish writer woman Sarah ( ?) talking about her passion for Pasha (and why Naga should be smiling all the time because he was her partner!). Also Jodie Prenger who's fun.

TimTamTerrier · 18/10/2016 09:56

The Irish woman is Marian Keyes, the author. I always like it when they have her on, she's so enthusiastic and funny. She's a bit hyper though, I bet every time she's a guest they have a little chat beforehand about remembering that there are others on the panel too and to leave gaps for them to speak. Grin I wonder why she's never been asked to compete, perhaps she's not famous enough. They've never had an author on Strictly, have they? So perhaps 'celeb' is defined as being on tv or being a sports person.

ppeatfruit · 18/10/2016 10:12

YES thanks Tim Tam Blush She'd be good on SCD. Maybe most authors are not into dancing! They do tend to sit about a lot Grin

Mind you with the standard this year, there seems to be very little room for anyone on a 'journey'. There must be some authors who are well known enough , Jilly Cooper, J.K. Rowling??

TimTamTerrier · 18/10/2016 10:18

JK Rowling would be good, she's very widely known and seems personable anytime that I've seen her interviewed (possibly just the once, I don't think she's in the public eye much). Jilly Cooper would definitely go out in the first week, it's been years (decades, probably) since I've seen her being interviewed and she was daft as a box of frogs and a bit uncoordinated.

Thanks, ppeatfruit - I hardly ever watch ITT in the early weeks, but I'll make a point of watching Friday's if it was good. I like the sound of that panel. Do please say if there are any other ITTs that are stand-out and should be watched!

ppeatfruit · 18/10/2016 12:45

mornington Grin Friday's is the only one that's an hour long, which you probably know, and there's sometimes silly VT's with 'Gethin' ? doing the interviews . The panel last week was the best they'd had on so far !

I like ITT anyway. Zoe is good, and I like the interviews with Ian Waite, Vicky Gill (the costume woman) and Karen Hardy and the dancers of course.. I can let you know what Zoe says about the following day's if I remember that you want to know!

Runny · 18/10/2016 15:27

As much as I enjoy seeing Gleb in a wet shirt, thaTs not really a proper AT is it? DWTS really sucks badly.

SoupDragon · 18/10/2016 17:16

Apparently they scored 40 for it!

mumonahottinroof · 18/10/2016 17:41

Marian Keyes has been asked to compete but turned it down, she isn't a good enough dancer. She also suffers from terrible depression and I imagine the stress would be too much. Better to have her on the sidelines doing what she does best

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 18/10/2016 17:59

^yes, in a webchat she said she could never do it as
she's such a huge fan
she'd be the clumsiest fattest dancer they ever had (aw bless her)
and would be humiliated being kicked out week one (bless again)
she would faint in Pasha's presence

I would be surprised if she hadn't been asked and no doubt the Irish Strictly will pester her. Good question, though, why haven't we had authors?
Jilly Cooper at 79 is probably not up for it.
Jackie Collins RIP Sad would have been excellent
Have we had journos?

TimTamTerrier · 18/10/2016 18:11

There's an Irish Strictly???????? What???

I'm never going to be celeb enough to be on the BBC Strictly, but I wonder if I could make myself briefly notorious enough to get on an RTE Strictly. It's a much smaller country and all the talented celebs go abroad so standards of fame are much lower.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 18/10/2016 18:22

Look forward to your notorious five minutes of fame Tam to get signed up for Sunday nights. RTE commissioned it for early(?) 2017 and they want Robin Windsor as a pro allegedly.
It will be called DWTS and is taking over from the voice. Me, I'd want Tristan back but not sure if he burned his Strictly bridges or not when he quit.
Wonder if Michael Flatfeet will make an appearance or DanODon.
Hopefully I will get to see it through furtive means and on Craicnet we can start a DWTS thread Smile

TimTamTerrier · 18/10/2016 18:28

I think running for the Dail with a spurious but amusing agenda would probably do it. It would have to be ridiculous enough to catch attention, and unlikely enough to ensure that I don't actually get elected. Turn Dublin into the Venice of Ireland by replacing major roads with canals and turn the Luas and Dart into river boat services by attaching big flotation devices underneath them.

I quite like Robin Widsor. I wonder if Matthew Cutler is still available, he was so elegant.

CaveMum · 18/10/2016 20:47

Looks like Anastasia might be dancing with Gorka this weekend. Brendan just said he's been told to rest until at least Thursday so while he has choreographed the Quickstep routine, Gorka has been standing in during rehearsals.

Marbleheadjohnson · 18/10/2016 20:50

Ooh goody, I like Gorka. I thought this was what Neil was for though?

Poor Brendan, speedy recovery!

TimTamTerrier · 18/10/2016 20:52

Neil might not be tall enough for Anastacia.

dementedma · 18/10/2016 21:07

Robin Windsor is seriously HOT!

ppeatfruit · 19/10/2016 09:01

Neil came over very well on ITT last night , he's bright and good dancer. There was a proper discussion with Claudia F about the difference between gymnastics and dancing for her . She's very good too.

MoonriseKingdom · 19/10/2016 13:53

Agree that Neil is likeable and knowledgeable on ITT. Hope he gets a run with a contestant next year. I think Katya is doing well with Ed Balls so hopefully they will both be back.
