2 years ago a thread on Our Girl was started with these words ^Anyone watching this drivel?
although slightly enjoyed the family dynamics going on last night, unfortunately DD's favourite programme and in fact Guardian seems to recommend it^

40,000 posts, fireside wrestling contests, fan-fiction, autograph requests, carol concerts, CJ Grand Tours later we are about to watch the last episode of series 2. And that first post is a distant memory.

Sweet moment. They might not be an 'item' but there is an acknowledgement that they do love each other. She just needs to go off and do her own thing as well and doesn't need to be glued to his side - fair enough. Absence etc...

Poor Jamie - he wasn't right for her but he did try to be there and do the right things to help her and he was the only one who kept saying she was 'ill' even Elvis knew she wasn't 'right' in the head.

Thought Jamie's comment about finishing Elvis off on his next shot was quite funny.

Can't quite figure out how she can go and sit next to Jamie in the churchyard and snuggle up to him.

Still at least Georgie decides not to waste her honeymoon. Wonder if she got a refund on her tickets.

I don't get how her parents suddenly turn around and forgive her everything and obviously have money to burn for weddings - mind you Marie and Lulu won't be getting much more than a Registry Office and Fish and Chips after two failed attempts.

Still can't help comparing Georgie and Molly, when CJ was shot, Molly was straight into medic mode, Georgie isn't ... I'd've expected her to be more experienced. Strange why to didn't make her more medicy.
Hope Elvis survives and is in S3 though.

I agree Nickel although she was quite good when Elvis threw himself off that watch tower and excellent with tooth extraction and maggots plus bloodied stumps. I think it's just that series one was much more gritty.

I won't got into all my thoughts right now but I do think that series 3 needs to get back to gritty.

Rhu I understood your concern in your post this morning about this thread fizzling out - I think I'd expressed something similar last week. We seemed so less enthusiastic than we had been a few weeks ago. It's encouraging to hear that all the long-term posters are in for the long haul.

I didn't make the watch along but have read through and enjoyed your musings. We will be there for series three because we are all committed and in for the long haul.

I would like it to be more gritty and "in the field" of course some romantic/sexual tension adds to the drama, but why I take from series one is the involvement of two section. We just met them then and I was hoping.. In this new series their characters would developed and we would learn more from them. Unfortunately TG decided to give all the action to MK (maybe her salary/contract demanded that?) but anyway, I still enjoyed it regardless of the lack of two section and CJ - and series 3.. I'm there!!

I was a bit worried ilove the same as you mentioned last week on here. It's just felt a bit negative, which I do understand, and I'd be sad to see this fizzle out because we were a bit disappointed at times by series 2. I just think there's still plenty of fun to be had even if it's just speculation.

Thanks for the company ladies. Not sure if we'll be wanting another watchalong in a few months - but you never know!
