2 years ago a thread on Our Girl was started with these words ^Anyone watching this drivel?
although slightly enjoyed the family dynamics going on last night, unfortunately DD's favourite programme and in fact Guardian seems to recommend it^

40,000 posts, fireside wrestling contests, fan-fiction, autograph requests, carol concerts, CJ Grand Tours later we are about to watch the last episode of series 2. And that first post is a distant memory.

I've just re-watched all my fav bits again for the umpteenth time. I need to stop though, it makes me feel like I'm not doing anything with my life, I feel like some action and drama Grin

pixieg1rl · 08/10/2016 14:37

Jeez giant, you've described the last 2 years of my life Confused

kazzaD66 · 08/10/2016 14:46

MaddieMoo82 · 08/10/2016 15:25

KeziaOAP · 08/10/2016 15:44

Not going anywhere ladies, sometimes need to escape RL to the madness here Wink. DD has now started talking about things she'll need for the baby, expected Jan 1st, so progress but obviously still worried about the anti depressant medication she's having to take, I can honestly say she's getting fantastic support from all medical people, so well done NHS.

Ice lucky you Envy.

Haven't watched episode 5 back other than the scene where CJ is suited and fiddling with his ring Smile. Will join in tonight but may be half way through.

Rhu will think of things for series 3 after tonight.

giantcar · 08/10/2016 17:20

Pleased to hear this effect is just not on me.

I ended up going solo for lunch, brisk walk and then the cinema to Bridget jones. Very funny movie, although entirely predictable too. Haven't laughed like this in a while so was worth it :)

Ilovelblue · 08/10/2016 18:26

Found this just now.

Amazing that this woman is meeting her boss at his text request and is still finding time to update this thread.

Rhubarb01 · 08/10/2016 18:40

Just been out for an 'Afternoon Tea Party' and now consequently feeling a tiny bit sick from the sugar! Still it was quite some spectacle to behold.

I haven't watched episode 5 since Wednesday so might not be as clued up as normal for the watchalong. My favourite moment has to be when Lulu nods in respect as Georgie makes a a run for it with Elvis and says "Epic!". That was a welcome bit of humour.

I'm going to have a wallow in SCD before the watchalong and last week I followed James Jordan's comments on twitter rather than witter on myself on here and bore everyone rigid. I know James Jordan allegedly fell out with the BBC for some reason - I don't know what it was all about - but I do think he gives an honest assessment and he's often critical of the marking and suggests there's a different agenda going on. I have to say that sometimes I think the dance order chosen is advantageous to certain couples. (Why has Ed got to do the first Samba this week - it is so difficult!)

I was thinking about Dance's sugggestion of 'Our Girl Consequences'. Are we suggesting that we literally do a running thread where each person posts the next part of the story - it doesn't have to be paragraphs possibly just a sentence or two and then the next person continues?

For example, I post "Georgie Lane glanced at the Departure Board at Brize Norton and thought to herself that nothing could ever turn out as badly as her first tour in Kenya". I leave it there and the next person adds "At that moment Elvis strolled through the door and her heart sank...." etc That could definitely run like a soap opera for the next 12 months. I would however suggest that IF we wanted to do something like that we set up a thread on here just for that so you could read it through like a story and keep general chat on here. Any thoughts? (I expect 'barking mad' comes into it somewhere).

As for my own thoughts on Series 3 - I have some serious ones but I won't start on them right now but will have a go later or tomorrow.

OK I will disappear until 9pm. See anyone who can make it then.

TRish47 · 08/10/2016 19:43

I am not leaving!! It was taken me ages to pluck up courage to join you lovely ladies on this site. As for S3 I could think of a few things I would like to see added Smile

TRish47 · 08/10/2016 19:46

Rather tired this morning, after having watched the All Blacks thrash South Africa. Lots of thigh action going on! 🏈🏈🏈

Nickel45 · 08/10/2016 20:31

Hi trish glad you joined us :)

rhu need to think about S3 ... Will come back to that! Fab idea Grin I'm in for the long haul, it's been two years, don't think i could give it up that easily!!!!

Off to bribe the kids to go to bed. Will hopefully be back by 9.

Rhubarb01 · 08/10/2016 20:48

10 minutes to watchalong for anyone able to join in! Grin

Ilovelblue · 08/10/2016 20:54

I'm here! Just finished watching SCD. Recorded it so I could skip over the ridiculous narratives by Claudia. She winds me up.

Rhubarb01 · 08/10/2016 20:56

5 minute warning!

Rhubarb01 · 08/10/2016 20:57

Was a really good SCD tonight - personally I wish they'd stop the silly visits to stupid places - as if any of that really helps! It reminds me of the Eurovision fillers.

pixieg1rl · 08/10/2016 20:58

I'm going to be on a delay, we paused strictly for dinner and son is still up. I will be reading from a darkened room waiting for him fall asleep

Rhubarb01 · 08/10/2016 20:58

Ooh and I love Ed Balls in this - never thought I'd say that. (I once had a letter from him!)

Rhubarb01 · 08/10/2016 21:00

Roll VT - (that's press play on iplayer in reality)

giantcar · 08/10/2016 21:01

I'm a bit off topic, but does anyone have a link to the clip where James & Molly sing? Their voices instead of a song overplaying it. Ta

KeziaOAP · 08/10/2016 21:01

up in the clouds where?

Rhubarb01 · 08/10/2016 21:02

I swear that "all I wanna do is marry you," are the lyrics of a song!

KeziaOAP · 08/10/2016 21:04

Does sound familiar rhu

Ilovelblue · 08/10/2016 21:04

Struggling to post - it did this on me last weekend.

Rhubarb01 · 08/10/2016 21:04

I'm going to say this up front but does anyone think the girlfriend story was tacked on at the last minute. I don't recall anything earlier linking to it apart from the fact he was at University in Manchester.

CJ is lisping - you're right woof
