It is that time of the year when we get to enjoy watching a bunch of incompetent baffoons try an impress Lord Suranal, whilst we laugh and mock them from our sofa's.

I am reading all of their quotes in this morning's Metro and I already want to slap each and every one of them.

They wouldn't know if they were going to be fired until they were so they can't just wear whatever they had in before just in case.

Am interested to know what potty-mouthed world Shenanigans lives in (not having a go btw, I love the word twat, but round these parts it is most def a swear word).

I loved Rebecca saying she got booted because she's not a twat. It makes the winner the most twatty out of all of them - which is often exactly what happens.

PinkSwim and FockerFun, them's the rules - they have to be driven around everywhere in the official cars and they can't split into more than two groups at a time. There are also rules about not using the internet, which is why it sometimes takes them ages to figure out what some of the more obscure items are, and IIRC they're given some kind of help at the start - it might be a list of suggested shops with some decoys, but I can't remember exactly. That's why a) you don't see them driving up and down random side roads for five hours wondering where the hell they can find a computer place, and b) most of the shopkeepers don't look particularly surprised to see three well-dressed businessmen/women sprinting in at 4am, demanding to buy exactly seven bars of a specific type of soap. It's presumably also how come out of all the bagel shops in London the two teams ended up in the same one.

There was a candidate from one of the early series who posted in a lot of detail online about 'behind the scenes' things like this as each episode was aired, but unfortunately he'd signed an NDA and got into a lot of hot water over it. I've tried several times to find an archived version but the BBC legal team seems to have scrubbed it very effectively from the internet, which is a great shame as it was significantly more interesting than the show itself
