It is that time of the year when we get to enjoy watching a bunch of incompetent baffoons try an impress Lord Suranal, whilst we laugh and mock them from our sofa's.

I am reading all of their quotes in this morning's Metro and I already want to slap each and every one of them.

OP posts:
JosephineMaynard · 10/11/2016 22:00

Didn't someone say that they film all the walks to the taxi in advance?

dillite · 10/11/2016 22:00

11 more? Where do they keep finding them? Why aren't the numbers reducing?

Shenanagins · 10/11/2016 22:03

She was like a lamb to the slaughter.

dillite · 10/11/2016 22:05

People seem to like her on You're Fired.

Shenanagins · 10/11/2016 22:08

Since when is twat a swear word!!

ellenanora5 · 10/11/2016 22:11

I knew she would go, she wasn't loud enough and she had a warning last week, I think Khartick is getting on much better, I wouldn't be mad about Sofiann, think he's full of himself.

Going to watch you're fired now Smile

dillite · 10/11/2016 22:14

She comes across as a very nice person on You're Fired.

Optimist1 · 10/11/2016 22:46

Karthik and Jessica both had a poor start but I've warmed to them. Sofiane needs a slap. Just saying.

iklboo · 10/11/2016 22:54

Twat has always been a swear word!

3luckystars · 10/11/2016 23:06

Oh the clip from next week, did you see Grainne's expression?!!
I rewound it loads of times, I was laughing, it was absolutely priceless. I can't wait to see what that's about.

FoxesOnSocks · 10/11/2016 23:49

Khartick Is still awful sorry.

I hoped SofIwhatsit would go in a double firing tonight

Quite like the team leader of the losing team. Probably should learn her name.

On another note, I'm not usually a bothered (seeing mine isn't brilliant) but the poor grammar is driving me nuts. Might just be I'm irritated by many of them anyway!!

FoxesOnSocks · 10/11/2016 23:54

Oh yes and I honestly thought that when whatshername said 'is Morocco in Turkey?' She was saying it in a 'you big dingbat' type of way.

Honestly what are the chances three grown apparently successful adults don't know that Morocco 🇲🇦 isn't part of Turkey 🇹🇷

wideboy26 · 11/11/2016 10:14

There's a parallel with the US presidential election in the choice of candidiates in that with 320 million individuals to choose from, they come up with Clinton and Trump whilst from all the young talent that must be available in this country, they find these 18 (or whatever the number is) useless articles.

purplepebbles · 11/11/2016 10:27

So far I like Trishna (sp?), Courtney and the dapper dude. Alana is OK.

Karthik seems very... dominant male.

Really dislike Sofiane.

Old Sugar though - doing a lot of talking over candidates, asking them questions which if he listened they were actually answering before he interrupted. Rude man.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 11/11/2016 12:52

Wideboy - I suspect that the reason they came up with such useless articles is that the truly talented young business men and women are out actually doing business, being successful, and don't need to go on a reality tv show to get investment for their businesses.

ShelaghTurner · 11/11/2016 13:02

I'm too focussed on hating Trishna's earrings!

Was sad to see Rebecca go, she seemed genuinely nice but yeah, as soon as she mentioned driving all the way out to Streatham I knew she was toast.

JustDanceAddict · 11/11/2016 13:16

karen was a patronising bitch last night. I was mortified at how she spoke to Alannah. I think even Sir Anal wouldn't be that harsh, esp as she got the deal.
Lol at tahini/soup. Mind you, dh didn't know what a tagine was, but it's not hard to find out. They should've gone to Pak'S in Wood Green for the black soap. Every Afro/back person's beauty product under the sun.
And whoever posted here re the bagels being donuts - oh dear...

Unicorn1981 · 11/11/2016 13:39

purplepebbles SirAnal was very rude. He'd ask them questions then start making comments. And I think Karren Brady is being a right bitch on it. I used to like her, she's done some brilliant stuff but she seems to hate women.

FoxesOnSocks · 11/11/2016 13:52

I don't think she hates women; she dislikes th use of the 'silly little girl' or fluttering of eyelashes as negotiation.

FockerFun · 11/11/2016 14:01

Why do they have to go in teams to buy things? It would be much quicker to split up wouldn't it?

ShelaghTurner · 11/11/2016 15:03

I assume it's because of the cars. I suppose they haven't got 11 cars to take each person all over the place cos it certainly makes more sense to give each person 1 or 2 items and let them get on with it.

JosephineMaynard · 11/11/2016 15:15

It'd also be less good TV if they all went off individually.

There'd be much less of the bickering and last minute rushing around that looks so dramatic on TV.

tropical1 · 11/11/2016 16:26

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but why does the fired candidate always wear a scarf when going to the taxi?
If it's recorded later why can they not just wear whatever they had on before??

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 11/11/2016 17:00

So you can't see that they aren't wearing what they had on in the boardroom, and guess that the exits are filmed all at once, early in the process, maybe?

Roussette · 12/11/2016 16:14

I've finally caught up with this and I think the right person went, surprised Rebecca didnt go before!

She was sorta OK on You're Fired but she does come across as a bit sort of Head Girl goody twoshoes. Im sure she's a lovely person but saying "Sorry Dad, I never normally swear" to her Dad in the audience was OTT! (She's a grown woman with a child FFS!) And then not daring to say the word twat on the actual show but just saying 'uh huh' instead was hilarious!

My money's on Trishna and Courtney and maybe Grainne but who knows!
