I've felt on the verge of tears through every episode and tonight is no different. It's so intense and so atmospheric. Poor Dee, her mother is so flipping cold with her. We might be about to find out why tonight

Lottapianos · 04/10/2016 22:03

Oh FFS! Stupid goddamn pissing recording cut out before the end! Marie was packing a suitcase and crying - please tell me what happened next!!!

southeastdweller · 04/10/2016 22:13

Missed it so just went to catch up but for some odd reason it isn't on 4OD yet!

RTKangaMummy · 04/10/2016 22:30

On channel 13 now

I am not sure how people could think Percy has anything to do with it?
except he was the runner that warned Paul
agree, not liking Julie Walters character.

all this talk of Damaging their daughter
but perhaps Percy might go to police with the more infidelities now that he said he knew about.

Lottapianos · 05/10/2016 06:30

Kanga, I went to bed, what happened at the end?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 05/10/2016 06:46

I fell asleep halfway through, will try again tonight.

NoahVale · 05/10/2016 08:13

paul came back with the daughter, saying the three were together again, as it should be, or somethign like that.
although mum had a suitcase packed

Lottapianos · 05/10/2016 08:47

Thanks Noah.
What did people think of the scene between the barrister and Marie? I felt so sorry for her being asked questions like that, especially in front of the male solicitor. I didn't believe all of her denials

I still don't understand why Dee was so bonded to her father and so resentful of her mother, even as a teenager. After the scene last night where he and Dee seemed genuinely loving towards each other, im even more confused

Myfanwyprice · 05/10/2016 14:02

I just felt utterly confused the whole way through! I can't imagine how it is going to all come together in the final episode?

CalmItKermitt · 05/10/2016 14:04

If this turns out to have an ambiguous/open ending I'm not going to be happy 😡

Oblomov16 · 05/10/2016 21:47

Watched 3 of 4 now. None the wiser. Very deep and hard to follow. Slow and not really going anywhere. Episode 4 better be good.

annandale · 06/10/2016 05:02

I thought this episode was great. Very uncomfortable. Sorry to say the obvious but I just don't understand how Julie Walters can be SO GOOD at what she does. I've occasionally seen her in something I didn't think she should be in [cough Mamma Mia cough] and it's not like she is unrecognisable in her parts, but there is something so believable about her, she can make the most unsympathetic roles understandable.

southeastdweller · 06/10/2016 22:35

I feel like I'm on an emotional rollercoaster when watching this and my nerves are shot by the end. My gut feeling is that Paul will be found not guilty next week but his family won't believe his innocence.

The scene with the barrister and Marie was mesmerising, thanks to the talents of JW. I was squirming with embarrassment on Marie's behalf!

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 11/10/2016 15:15

Ah bugger. Missed this entirely and no access to catch up. Thanks kanga anyway Flowers. Hope you have enjoyed it.

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 11/10/2016 15:19

Or I could just watch the final episode having read a short precis! Quite like a trial scene.
So speculators: guilty or not guilty? I will read full thread later, if anyone wants to catch me up with epidodes 1-3 (your take/what I've missed beyond tv bloke accused of raping a 15 year old years earlier) thank you, maybe with spoiler alert in case. Ta x

^episode1 for anyone in my boat who is going to watch the end, having missed the beginning and middle.

RTKangaMummy · 11/10/2016 18:37

Kimmy I think it would be a better idea to watch on catchup if possible as the emotions change all the way thru rather than just the trial

OP posts:
KimmySchmidtsSmile · 11/10/2016 19:11

I would but am not UK so no access. Sad that CH4 and BBC do not have a subscription license fee for overseas, I would happily pay it like I do for prime and netflix.

RTKangaMummy · 11/10/2016 20:03

Oh Oke doke

KimmySchmidtsSmile · 11/10/2016 20:18

Yes, it's a pity. I can access uk tv one way but only live and as long as I remember you are an hour behind. Other than that I rely on youtube. Ah well. Hope the final episode lives up to expectations.
