I really liked the Porridge (very clever ties back to the original) and Goodnight Sweetheart, I hope they continue with that one. Young Hyacinth I liked, thought the actress had got the mannerisms down really well, but not entirely convinced that it worked as a kind of prequel. AYBS was really impressed with the actors being llke the originals, very clever, but I don't think you could ever match the original humour, whereas porridge I think is timeless. Anyway, that my review of the week! Off to make the kids tea!

I should be around Rhu so long as the tradfic is ok on the M6 coming home. It was dreadful this morning and we ended up abandoning the idea of ever getting to the food festival.

I wish I could knit things likes that woolly CJ. I can only crochet and given the holey nature of crochet etc and the accompanied stretch it would probably have ended up like a life size onesie . Did anyone note how BA said if there was one prop he'd keep it would definitely be the headset - wonder if any of our ramblings have filtered through.

After watching GBBO I've got a hankering after Viennese Whirls - possibly linked to SCD as well, a sort of homage to the Viennese waltz and I am busy looking up how to make them thinking I will try this tomorrow. Can't wait to see if mine end up as shapeless blobs - remember the pasties anyone?

One final thing - series 3 (or 4 depending on how you view the pilot) of OG could be a possibility if TG's hints/wishes come true - I'm thinking boxset binges in the future! "I have a request" however, which is could it either be about Molly a few years on (of course I don't know what's in episode 1 or how the land lies eek!) or could it take the female medic theme one step further and maybe have a main character who is possibly married and has a child - to show what it's really like to be in that position - wife, mother, soldier!!

OK back to my recipes and on for Strictly later.

It's been a rotten day here today so glitz and glamour definitely needed.

Oh pix roads bad then. Worked with a couple of people from Cornwall today and then said even leaving early the roads were super busy. Unfortunately not going to make watchalong either, MrMads let DS have an afternoon nap so he'll never get down to sleep in time look forward to catching up with your posts later though.

Yes mads really slow going getting out of the West Country. I don't know how you lot cope with the endless traffic over the summer, Saturdays must be like hell.

I enjoyed the Star Wars/space rocket opener - I like it when they take the mickey out of themselves.

Wouldn't say I detest her but I much prefer Zoe Ball - I like Zoe on It Takes Two.

Well ice Len did tell her to get her fringe cut! It would make a change for her not to be peering out from under it - but generally I quite like her.

Looks like Danny Mac is the eye candy - I've never watched Hollyoaks so don't know him. I reckon Louise Redknapp will be good at ballroom and I think Naga may have some moves. Glad they give poor Ed a cheer.
