thanks rich was beginning to think I was going mad. Will try later if I'm still awake!

Onlygirljen · 25/08/2016 20:40

Photos are great. First five minutes of fleabag are, let's just say, BA heavy Grin

icemistOBE · 25/08/2016 20:47

Should be available on sky if you search for it, rather than go to the date (so I've been told - we have virgin)

Some great pics today. Thank you all. I managed to find the prequel on sky....channel 980 and 3hrs long as others have said. I also watched FB earlier, lots of BA to enjoy. I'd be interested to hear what you all thought of it in the end. I quite enjoyed it and I thought the last episode helps explain why she's so messed up.

What's anyone got planned for the bank holiday? Weather looks a bit mixed, could be nice if you can avoid the showers!

moojangles · 25/08/2016 22:37

Home sweet home again now. Thanks berlin for sky prequel info, set to record.
Happy bank holiday one and all, homework beckons-pix, might send you some data to analyse if you want.

pixieg1rl · 25/08/2016 22:43

I'm a sad bugger, and I'd probably enjoy that mooj. Glad you're home safe.

icemistOBE · 26/08/2016 13:17

Loved Fleabag. And the last episode certainly explains a lot.

And BA character really was an a**ehole guy!

OP posts:
Ilovelblue · 26/08/2016 14:00

You beat me to it ice. He really was an arsehole. Found the so called passionate scene in his bedroom with Fleabag quite cringeing really.

I definitely wouldn't have watched it had BA not been in it.

Do we know why Olivia Colman slapped her across her face in episode 5 - couldn't quite work that one out?

Rhubarb01 · 26/08/2016 18:15

I watched the last episode of Fleabag last night and it reminded me of the question that was posed right at the start of this thread - is it CJ or BA that you like. I have to say that on the basis of what I felt about arsehole guy it's definitely CJ (or at least CJ played by BA). I can fairly happily leave the rest of it. I wonder what we might have made of OG if CJ had been played by someone else or differently?

I think I'll watch the first two or three episodes first to see if there's enough CJ action for the money Grin.

Richtea19 · 26/08/2016 19:13

Haven't caught up with FB, my priority is sitting the garden enjoying this weather with a G&T, my second! I wonder why the second never tastes as good as the first?

Hope everyone has nice plans for the long weekend, and fingers crossed the weather stays good!

pixieg1rl · 26/08/2016 21:10

Greetings from Yeovil! Breaking our trip to the West Country in a rather budget hotel. MrP bless him is from the school of cheap over luxurious. It's a few steps up from the backpacker hostel in Kenya where I got bitten by something that made my leg swell up; but exotic romantic breaks are not his thing.

Ordered my OG2 DVD this afternoon; here's hoping there's a fuck ton of extras or the price drops between now and November

Rhubarb01 · 26/08/2016 21:31

I'm worried that I'm starting to waver at the final fence now that we are so close to series 2. I really want to like this but I'm worried that the 'new couple' aren't going to win me over, it will all get a bit tabloidish and CJ and two section will just be a side issue linking with the previous series hence my reluctance to pre-order the DVD until I've seen the proof of the pudding. Oh, dear, I feel I'm letting the side down - crisis of confidence and all that - must just go for the stiff upper lip approach, "It will be brilliant, " repeat after me, "It will be brilliant!"

Nickel45 · 26/08/2016 21:52

Me too rhu, feels like there have been so many spoilers, and so much hype, and I'm a bit meh about it at the mo, till we see what really happens should I duck for cover?, I'm sure it will be brilliant, but I just wonder if it will be as good as the first one. Could it possibly be? Eek!

pix safe journey, you're doing what we did on the way back from Cornwall! Have a lovely time x

pixieg1rl · 26/08/2016 21:59

I'm expecting to enjoy it, but not for it to make quite the same impact as series 1 did. I've tried to avoid spoilers as much as possible, I hate knowing too much as I tend to guess storylines otherwise (the Fleabag one was obvious from episode 3). I'm currently hoping my plot predictions for the Archers will be wrong (how are you getting on with it rhu?)

Rhubarb01 · 26/08/2016 22:05

I think it's probably just that this series seems a much bigger deal Nickel with higher profile actors in the main roles and so much more publicity. I've never watched Eastenders so I didn't really know LT before OG or any of the other actors in series one and it was such an unexpected little gem and really sparked something in all of us and here we are still 'talking' after two years. By contrast I used to watch Corrie and know MK from TV fairly well and of course, can't deny knowing D'Artagnan in an acting sense, so it changes things a bit. It's the old double-edged sword isn't it - so much more interest and then so much more expectation and worries from the likes of me that it won't be the same or feel the same - don't envy TG this one but will keep my fingers crossed for a bit of the old magic.

Nickel45 · 26/08/2016 22:11

I make you right on that rhu, and I guess given the pressure for a series 2, maybe it needed to be bigger to justify the recommission. I've not seen MK or LP in anything (although feeling I've missed out with LP!), so will be interesting. I wonder if SPO will be back, and how he feels about a new leading lady? I'm sure TG will have written a brilliant script though Smile

Rhubarb01 · 26/08/2016 22:13

I have flagged a bit pix and need to find the omnibus. I did look up the characters on the Radio 4 website but I'm a bit confused about which brother is bonking the 'Pip' character behind the other's back because I can't tell the voices apart. One of them is useless while the other does the work? Last time I heard the almost murdered man was hiring a nanny? He's up to no good isn't he.

Heligirl79 · 26/08/2016 22:16

Hi everyone, haven't been able to get on for a few days so had a quick read through the posts, lovely pictures.

rhu and nickel, I'm with you on series 2 and I don't think CJ and 2 section will feature as much. I might be wrong, but I feel the reason there seems to be so much hype and spoilers this time round is that there seemed to be a big backlash with MK taking over lead from LT, and they are trying to prove that she will be great, which although I did have doubts myself when it was announce, I'm sure she will.

Went up north to visit the in laws for a few days and went to Chatsworth House, have been bugging DH for ages to go and he finally caved in. Now looking to go up with my mum when it's all decked out for Christmas.

Spent this afternoon over at Audley End house today and they were having a WW2 themed week. There was a children's assault course there and a guy dressed in period uniform yelling instructions at them (nearly had DD in tears). We were chatting to him after and he said that he was heading back home to Mansfield tonight, I had to suppress a giggle and the urge to ask him if his name was Mike Grin. Have booked tickets for the WW2 weekend on Sunday, hope the weather is nice.

Have a lovely weekend all.

cjwoofwoof · 26/08/2016 22:41

Ayup me ducks as we say in northern Berkshire but no we certainly DONT dunk our Jaffa cakes - been a hectic couple of days. Alas I've aged another year in my absence and could now pass even for Jeremy Corbyn's Mum never mind CJ's Sad

Ditto to Rhu and Nick I'm not over-inspired by OG2 yet as Im thinking CJ will merely be man-in-background with 2Section this time round. I'm also certain they'll publicise MKs profile highly to justify her vast BBC, ie. Licence payers, pay packet. There is a slight silver lining in the luscious D'Artagnan but even there I'm not sure he'll fill combats as well as leather trousers and frilly billowy shirts. First night nerves I'm sure, as TG is bound to produce another rabbit out the hat and get me hooked for sure I hope eek!

pixieg1rl · 26/08/2016 23:00

Pip is shagging Toby rhu, who was a ner-do-well man-whore until she came along and now he's smitten and a reformed character, even managing not to shag another woman for a whole fortnight. His brother (the identical sounding Rex) has been carrying a torch for Pip for at least a year but is firmly in the friend zone and is such a wet blanket that you'd get trench foot even considering getting your leg over with him.

Titchynob (boo hiss) is playing his Machiavellian games with the village cricket team and taking the gullible PC Plod for a ride. He's wheedled his way into a job on the big farm estate where he's going to make Adam's life hell with his petty snitting and blatant homophobia. And Alice (astrophysicist wedding planner posh bint) has got pissed and wrecked a couple of thousand pounds worth of tractor on a drunken bet.

And that's your week in the archers

Rhubarb01 · 27/08/2016 08:11

Thanks for that pix. These little fictional worlds do gradually suck you in don't they and I feel it pulling me in that direction. Many, many, many years ago as a child at my mother's knee I can recall listening to Wagoner's Walk on Radio 2 - I think it used to be on after dear old Terry Wogan in the morning. I didn't understand it but my mother was hooked.

Hope you've all got nice things planned for the weekend weather permitting. I'm crazy but have agreed to take DD's shopping in town today something we would never normally do on a Saturday due to lots of other commitments but they're at that age when to them it's a good day out Confused. As it's murky and a bit wet here it's probably as good a choice of something to do as anything else.

Have a good one everyone - safe journey pix and hope the weather picks up but I fear it's probably not great in Yeovil today either. Still, Cornwall has it's own micro climate - we once spent a week near Penzance when it barely rained at all despite it peeing down across the rest of the country all week. Here's hoping!

kuiakaituhi · 27/08/2016 10:42

Theory about CJ in the blue Number 1s...was he running because he was in a hurry to get to his OWN wedding?
And thanks so much ice managed to order delivery of Series 2 DVD to NZ. Though there was an awful lot of content edited out of the DVD 1 series I bought in NZ

cjwoofwoof · 27/08/2016 13:11

Aah that's a nice thought re running CJ pic kuia - here's hoping.

I'm sorry pix but simply felt compelled to buy the Daily Mail today for its very interesting and intelligent journalistic coverage of a new tv series about to air plus my eyes were on stalks
