Yes, mads I'll probably have to watch everything at least twice to make sure I haven't missed anything. I really haven't watched a lot of TV for the last year or so but I feel a reversal of habits coming on.

MaddieMoo82 · 05/08/2016 22:31

I think my watching will be a heavy tablet based with all these good programmes starting just as the football season is starting up too Sad
The 'move move' bit is very sternface!!

Rhubarb01 · 05/08/2016 22:33

Mind you, we've also got to get through the Olympics here - bit awkward with time differences and that four letter word - work - but we're pretty keen on sporty stuff. We were lucky enough to get to see some events in London 2012 - happy memories!

MaddieMoo82 · 05/08/2016 22:51

Yes same here for Olympics. Will try and watch as much as possible (probs on catchup). Big rowing fab as dabbled in that when I was younger and not just cause of pixs video yesterday!!!

pixieg1rl · 05/08/2016 23:05

My interest in rowing is principally driven by tall men in tight lycra. Matthew Pinsent in Barcelona was the spark for that one. How I miss my cycle rides past the university boathouses....

icemistOBE · 05/08/2016 23:10

I'll watch when I can. Woman boxer from my home town is hoping to regain her gold medal. So I will be looking out for her matches.
I do love it all, need to figure out when my favourite events are on

We probably won't get OG here till after Christmas, so I might gonna have to stay away from here in case I explode with jealousy!
How long was it last series before the episodes turned up on You Tube?

Richtea19 · 06/08/2016 01:16

mads thanks for posting the trailer!!!!! I have watched it quite a few times just to hear "we need a medic". How can that sound so sexy???!!! I'm struggling to hear what Georgie MK says?.

Lovely and relaxing in Spain. We are going to a festival tomorrow called ... Something that I can't remember in Spanish but it means festival of light. Basically all electricity lights go off and it just candles.

So looking forward to Poldark too. Hope orph comes back to us for that!

pixieg1rl · 06/08/2016 08:40

Anyone calmed down yet, or are we all still knicker-wettingly excited (maybe just me)? I should be making a packed lunch but I keep drifting off into a world of my own with a silly smile on my face.

Anyhow. Off to Hyde Hall flower show today if I can get DS dressed, lunch made and MrP out the door. Have a lovely day you lot.

MaddieMoo82 · 06/08/2016 08:52

Enjoy pix sounds lovely. Yep still excited here and may have watched the trailer a couple of more times this morning.
Getting DSs shoes fitted at Clarks today. Wish me luck!!

icemistOBE · 06/08/2016 09:08

Still excited here. Also watched trailer again.

Morning - yes still excited here and so much to look forward to - I'm so grateful now I'm in my dotage!

mads are they DS's first shoes? If so, it's quite a landmark day. I kept each of mine's first pair of shoes - dear little things and hardly worn. Clarks took a polaroid of each of them when they got their first shoes in the shop to keep for posterity. and in their little box of treasures. Hope it goes well. You have, of course, reminded me that new school shoes will be looming before very long - got to get them done by about third week of August and DD has a wide fitting foot plus all the problems on what is suitable style now they are older. Boys are much easier on that score. Have a good day.

Onlygirljen · 06/08/2016 09:26

Morning! Survived the house move just.

Hope you're all well. That advert is a knicker soaker for sure!!!

MaddieMoo82 · 06/08/2016 09:33

Yay jen glad your in one piece and all moved in.
Yes rhu first set of shoes so right of passage that we are going to Clarks! He's 15 months but only properly on his feet the last weeks so out it off till now!

MaddieMoo82 · 06/08/2016 09:34

*put it off till now

Onlygirljen · 06/08/2016 09:47

Ahhh, I loved first pair of shoes day in Clarks with both of mine! Rhu is right, it's a definite landmark day!

Makes a difference to this week when I had to drag eldest away from Pokemon hunting to get new school shoes. Schools go back here a week on Monday.

pixieg1rl · 06/08/2016 10:23

Ahh, I remember the first shoe fitting day, son cruising around the shop, pulling all the shoes off the display, trotting towards me with a pink glittery pair. I'm all for non-gendered clothing but I did draw the line there. Have fun Mads, there's no stopping him now!

Glad to hear your all moved in Jen. Are the boys making dens from all the boxes?

moojangles · 06/08/2016 18:19

Glad your move is done jen. What did you buy at Hyde Hall pix? Have had a very long, very sunny and enjoyable day at the Countryfile live show at Blenheim. Worn out and burnt to a crisp.
Am still stupidly excited by the clip

MaddieMoo82 · 06/08/2016 21:28

Evening all. Your day sounds lovely mooj hope you've slapped on the aftersun.
Buying MrMads shoes was rather stressful. It was manic in there but luckily had made an appointment so didn't wait as long as some. Was fun though (not for mrmads who was a touch hungover). Shoes are vey cute but boy it's expensive! I'm not sure how long we will be wearing clarks for!!
Currently enjoying watching the Olympics. Rio looks amazing.

MaddieMoo82 · 06/08/2016 21:37

Obviously meant buying minimads shoes ShockSmile

pixieg1rl · 06/08/2016 22:14

eBay is your friend Mads look for ones that have hardly been worn. My SIL who is American thinks the British devotion to Clarks is a bit mad.

Long day at Hyde Hall, got a load of succulents (mine have been unhappy this year) and a few other things. DS shattered poor love. Gorgeous weather, luckily the suncream held out.

MaddieMoo82 · 07/08/2016 09:42

Morning all Smile weathers a bit grim here at the mo which is ruining my laundry plans (living life on the edge!) but supposed to be better later.
Cheers on the eBay idea pix hadn't thought of that at all... Hopefully will save me a few quid Smile
ilove are you on holiday now? If so have a lovely time Smile.

cjwoofwoof · 07/08/2016 10:42

Morning fellow Captaineers - another hangover here despite only a single glass of Pimms as designated driver honest, your honour . I think it's more to do with over-indulgence of buffet, too energetic dancing for a woman of my advanced years and excess cellulite and going to bed after midnight what a lightweight

Glad house move went well jen. It's nice to put your own stamp on a new house once you've got over the stress of the actual move. And first shoes mads ? Pigging nightmare that's what I call the Clarks shop. Second only in driving you berserk to Sports Direct bah! And they NEVER have the size/width you want unless it's in the most expensive pair obvs. Probably also owned by Mike Ashley as they employ the same selling tactics grr!

Loved the OG clip, great find mads. I've watched it hundreds a couple of times and yes pix my knicks still become inexplicably damp. Although on the downside, following my in depth observation of the clip and hopefully getting the vibes totally wrong I'm hoping it's not going to be the Georgie/Elvis show with CJ sidelined to the odd sternface and background "move, move" command Sad Having said that, I would not be complaining too much if Luke looks as good in combats as he does in French leather, but this clash of wanton desires is not helping my headache this morning Sad

I'm stupidly excited about the imminent Poldark too Rich - I've missed that floppy haired billowy shirted love-God almost as much as our dear Captain. I'm hoping orph will get early parole after that unfortunate incident with the high court judge and the broom handle at her shoplifting form Lidl trial earlier this year too. I've missed her input to this thread's lunacy a great deal.

Rhubarb01 · 07/08/2016 11:58

Morning all!

Glad the house move went well jen. I can't imagine trying to move again - I'd need a year to sort this place out first and throw half my possessions away.

Hope minimads likes his new shoes mads. You're right that you practically need to extend your mortgage for the first ten years to replace the Clarks shoes. They really have the market sown up and I suppose it's such an expensive line of business to be in given all the sizes and width fittings. Have to agree about comments made regarding Sports Direct and trainer buying woof - I absolutely hate going in there because you can't find anyone to help. I also hate the way they hang items up so high that you can't get them down and have to find a person with a ladder - I don't know how many times I simply haven't bothered and walked out.

As for the OG storyline I'm thinking a bit like you, woof, that the focus is going to be on Elvis and Georgie with CJ as the voice of experience and hopefully a bit more - seen that, done that and got the medic! (I could be totally wrong here but I'm sure that TG knew we'd lynch him if CJ went off with anyone else Grin ) I reckon what happens on the six week humanitarian mission is going to have repercussions back at home afterwards - hopefully exploring some of the more serious effects that traumatic events can trigger which we didn't see a lot of in OG1 because episode 5 was over so quickly - I am basing the traumatic on the fact there were obviously some explosions on the trailer. Problem is I keep thinking of that crappy line in 'Speed' about relationships based on intense situations!

Poldark is a welcome returner but I'm also wondering how they are going to handle a certain situation in the book or if they will stay faithful to it? Very interesting.

Was up quite late Olympics watching and also watched all the gymnastics live yesterday including that awful accident with the French chap. DD heard me squealing upstairs when it happened. I knew he'd broken his leg - poor bloke. No doubt will be glued to the TV again today - plenty of rowers pix but it looks so tough with all that choppy water. Have to agree that Rio during the road cycle race look amazing - absolutely beautiful. I can't imagine going out to South America but sort of wish it was in Europe somewhere - if only.

Have a good day everyone.

Ilovelblue · 07/08/2016 14:25

Afternoon everyone. I could have sworn I'd posted something yesterday as I remember commenting on pixie's trip to Hyde Hall (great pics by the way on FB) but it seems to have disappeared into the ether.

I'm being optimistic about CJ/BA in the new series as TG knows how much we love him. Maybe not the same romantic attachments as last time but so long as we see plenty of him, I'll be happy. Don't doubt though that the main focus of attention will be Georgie and Elvis.

Best get into the kitchen with the Cillit Bang!

It's really strange weather today - been quite dull so far but warm, yet incredibly windy. The sun has just come out. I've asked my neighbour if she wants to come over later for coffee and cake (using up some eggs before I clean the fridge out). She's feeding the cats when I'm away so I had better do a big clean up in the kitchen - she's far more fastidious than I am ever likely to be.
