ilove I have had diabetes all my life and it's just background chatter now because I hate the idea of it running my life. As well as keeping my sugars OK, I do two regular things.
I go to a podiatrist every three months and get my feet checked over, nails etc. The girl I go to always gives me a lovely foot massage as a bonus.
I get my eyes checked regularly and my retinas photographed. I was really lucky at the start of this year because the eye clinic picked up that I had fast growing cataracts. That was a side issue really, but they are history now and boy, did it make a difference . The cataracts had crept up on me and the worst effect was on night driving. I must have been a menace on the roads after dark.
Do you have subsidies etc on your national Health for conditions like diabetes? I am insulin dependent and all my meds are free. Treatments and checks are 50% subsidised. I am so well looked after that I just do my finger pricks, use my pen thingy to inject and treat sugar like medicine, not food.
If you;ve got diabetes, NEVER feel guilty about attending to your feet!

Yes we're well provided for thanks. It's just that we've had so much illness at work (including two cancers and a suicide) that I kerp thinking 'what next?' Not normally paranoid....

Richtea19 · 04/08/2016 00:36

A quick check in, not been able to read through thread properly but picked up on your foot ilove, try not to worry I'm sure it will be ok Flowers. Fab news about Nashville -woof , I'm ready for Deacon and his 10 gallon hat!

ice I've been following your London adventure with L it looked fantastic, you did so much. You've done more than I have and I live 30 mins train ride from London!!!

Spain is fab, very hot but thank goodness for cold beer and G&T!

Ilovelblue · 04/08/2016 08:05

Glad you're having a good time Rich.

Just heard on the news that people are on the internet for an average of 25 hours a week. Hmmm wonder how long we spend on this thread?

icemistOBE · 04/08/2016 08:11

Morning

Hope your Dr can sort your toe out ilove not what you need before you head off on your holiday. K would be over moon if you could see something small from Eurostar. He's still so exited to have seen it. I may have loosely promised him a trip on it in the future Blush

Rich believe me we were all over London. And he has started a list already of what he wants to see next time. We were beside the Victoria & Albert museum so that's on his list - I've no idea why and what it even displays! Didn't realise when we were at Hyde Park Corner station we were close to Buckingham Palace so we probably had time to see it, but loads to go back for.

Fleabag this morning, will report back if worth a watch Grin

Day at home today. Son fell off a swing yesterday and has bruised his chest so need to keep him quiet & rested Hmm

Lots of DVDs and Lego for us today.

Nickel45 · 04/08/2016 10:00

Hope pixlet is ok xx

Fleabag is on already .... no BA in this one though :(

Glad you enjoyed London ice ... I think I live too close too, rich, only touristy things I've done were on school trips!!!

pixieg1rl · 04/08/2016 10:13

I'm the same about Cambridge nickel & rich; took me 30 years to go on punt

icemistOBE · 04/08/2016 10:44

I'm not too bad with Manchester, but there is nothing on the scale as London. having the boys has definitely made me go out and see things. We've been to all the museums in Manchester. Think Liverpool or York is next. Liverpool is only 40 mins on train so can do it in a day.

No Ben today Sad Still enjoyable episode and do like how we are finding more about her.

Ooh ditto to the meh attitude to London when it's on your doorstep - severe case of CBA at Woof Manor I'm afraid ice but good on you for putting the bloody effort in to educate your little ones. It's all I can manage these days to play a board game with my youngest - and that's only on condition he rolls the dice for me, picks up the cards and reads the instructions for me then moves my piece for me - and we play so long as I can continue reading the paper. No wonder they turn to drink in their mid teens Grin

Watched The Longest Ride film with Clint Eastwood's son the other night. Despite sharing the same title, It's nothing like the genre of the straight-to-video special gymnastic enthusiasts movie orph and I made in 1976 with dear Ian and Oliver Tobias, but I must say I'd quite like to see Eastwood Jr at the fireside wrestling competition if there's any spaces left and he wasn't already on the very long list

Ilovelblue · 04/08/2016 14:25

Good news for little ice - the Eurostar customer care people are sending something through the post for him as a souvenir. I really hope it's two tickets to Paris for you ice but suspect it will be something less exciting. Still, whatever it is will be a nice gesture from them.

Got a friend coming for tea tonight and not thinking Fleabag will be her thing. Will watch it after she's gone.

Got another doctor's appointment for later this afternoon. Can't fault the surgery at all - they've been most accommodating.

icemistOBE · 04/08/2016 15:13

I'd love if it was that! Probably a pen Grin anything will be great.

He's currently in Bury at the transport museum with Mr Ice

Just seen the pictures of Orlando Bloom online, one way to get yourself in the press. (Totally naked frontal pictures)

I'm still reeling from http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/nude-photos-normalize-male-bodyuss_579fac86e4b08a8e8b5eff23 which a friend posted on Facebook the other day. Definitely NSFW or mealtimes.

icemistOBE · 04/08/2016 15:52

Omg if I want to look at naked men, I'd rather they were nice to look at. Where's that risqué French rugby calendar gone..,,

cjwoofwoof · 04/08/2016 20:31

Ooh much appreciated pix after all that in depth research I may order the calendar to ogle at my leisure use for highlighting important financial dates etc. I will never miss a deadline again for sure as I will have cracked it, so to speak.

And if a trip to the park meant swinging on them count me in Grin

MaddieMoo82 · 05/08/2016 06:56

Morning all. Looks like another busy old day so thought so I would get on early whilst I have a chance and luckily DS woke nice and extra early to help out!
Hope your having a lovely holiday rich.
And hope you got on ok at the doctors ilove, are you on holiday next week?
May try and enjoy the calender guys again later!! Thanks pix will avoid the other nudes though Shock
Right best go before I have a muntiny on my hands over the lack of breakfast provision Confused

Ilovelblue · 05/08/2016 08:27

Morning all. Thanks Maddie. I've got another set of antibiotics to take on holiday with me. The doctor said "I would be more worried about going to France than your foot problem!" Er - thanks for that - I'm feeling a bit apprehensive anyway with all the terrorist attacks there recently. These tablets are huge - one of my delightful male colleagues even asked if they were meant to be taken orally or elsewhere!! I work with some lovely people.

We are going on Monday but having a day at Bletchley Park on the way down which I am quite looking forward to. We are staying in Milton Keynes overnight as it's close by - not exactly a holiday destination but it was convenient. It's only a short break really but I felt I needed to economise with my bathroom costs having been more than anticipated! Going away in October though so I suppose I didn't really economise in the end.

Ilovelblue · 05/08/2016 08:29

pixie hope little pix has recovered ok. Those photos you sent were horrible - definitely could see why you wouldn't want to view at work!

MaddieMoo82 · 05/08/2016 17:57

www.cultbox.co.uk/news/trailers/watch-first-teaser-for-new-season-of-our-girl

Eeek! Wish I fitted the bill!!!

Rhubarb01 · 05/08/2016 18:15

Ooh er CJ I bet you need a medic if she 's anything like the last one. Nice find mads.

One small point - surely D'Artagnan's hair is too long and floppy for this one - unless it's part of an undercover disguise. Can't quite get used to seeing him out of his leather. Do you think we're going to get swamped by the ladies from the Swagger Inn when OG starts? I'm getting vibes about the direction in which the storyline might move.

Rhubarb01 · 05/08/2016 18:19

Can anyone make out what she says - "A six week ??" I've listened three times and I can't make it out.
