Ilovelblue · 01/08/2016 23:45

Evening all. Had a friend round for tea tonight. We used to work together and see each other a couple of times a year. It may sound mean but two or three times is ample. Sometimes I think she's on a different planet. I like food - I like cooking it and eating it - she doesn't cook and seems to live off things like cheese and crackers, cheese on toast and then peppers and tomatoes. I'm not sure how she survives. I am convinced she must think I'm obsessed with food! I notice she always cleans her plate though and if there are seconds on offer, she has them.

She brought some very nice wine and as I was on my second glass, I stopped to think that the very strong antibiotics I'm on for the strange swelling on my little toe may not go well with alcohol. I had to dash away from the table to check but fortunately you could drink with them. There are very strict instructions as to when you take them so in a nutshell, I have to set my alarm for 6.15 to take the first one of the day.

cjwoofwoof · 02/08/2016 09:41

Morning! RL a bit full on at the mo. Financial year end for work and little bleeders at home demanding attention blahblah. Anyway...thoroughly enjoyed the mads and rhu show with the Musketeers. Recorded both episodes for when I'm alone so I can enjoy the final lushness of D'Artagnan in his leathery swordy swashy comeliness more roundly. I'm going to miss those beardy ones, sigh...

However, every cloud and all that - the magnificence of AT is imminent and Nashville's finale hits the screen on 25 Aug Sky Living, so plenty of scrumptiousness to look forward to Grin

Grrrr....just lost a post (or will end up posting twice)!

ice sounds like you had a nice time in London if tiring. Hopefully you can have a more relaxing day to recover today.

rhu and mads loving the updates and almost wish I'd been watching but I think that got ditched around series 2.

pix I haven't yet started your FF and it sounds like I have a treat in store. I've been reading greenstuffs latest but have gone back and read from the start again.

ilove hopefully the antibiotics are working and your foot is on the mend even with the odd glass of wine!

woof that's great news about nashville I hadn't heard that. Sounds like there's lots of good TV to look forward to in the autumn.

DH has got a couple of days off at the end of the week though we can't decide what to do. We'll probably end up doing the garden though he's watching the weather and if it's wet he'll postpone till another time.

Ilovelblue · 02/08/2016 17:16

Toe no better as yet but I've only had one day's set of tablets - thanks Berlin.

Bet you're tired today ice and your back needs time to recover. You posted some great photos on Facebook.

Going to do some gardening tonight if the rain holds off though it's looking decidedly grey and overcast outside.

Time to finish work now I think! Have a nice evening everyone.

icemistOBE · 03/08/2016 12:56

Ah, peace and quiet Grin Boys off to nursery/holiday club. Should be ironing but just watched Fleabag again. I really quiet enjoy the mix of humour and darkness.

Hope we have air date soon, wasn't it around Aug last time they started to advertise?

Off to dentist in a while to have permanent seal put on root canal work. Another 45 mins....

K is still very excited about his trip, he was telling them all about it this morning. Think I might do him a little memory book, with tickets and photos to keep.

Right, that's another day of work in the can. I'm off to pick up my new folding bike now. Rather sadly I'm pretty excited about this - I will be able to shoehorn some exercise into my day instead of sitting on my arse eating monster munch on the bus on the way home (actually, that sounds like a really crap idea come to think of it).

Ilovelblue · 03/08/2016 16:37

ice I will see if there are any souvenirs of Eurostar suitable for small boys next week. You never know what they might have - if you don't ask, you don't get. Virgin Trains were really good a few weeks ago when I took my friend's two boys - they got little red rucksacks with games etc in.

I didn't think they started advertising OG until September but maybe that's because I don't watch much TV in the summer and was probably starting to watch again once the evenings were drawing in.

I think Fleabag has Rodent Man in tomorrow - did you tell me that ice? I scoured the cast list but it only showed up to episode 3 so no sign of any more of BA's character in that.

moojangles · 03/08/2016 18:50

How's your foot ilove?
Loving the new bike pix, happy to ear your monstermunch for you.
rhu and mads, loving the musketeers posts far more than I ever liked the programme.
ice hope you've fully recovered from you trip.
Hope everyone is okay. Been tidying/ reclaiming the hoyse today and fiscovered that I appatently collect packs of playing cards. 15 decks so far!?

Ilovelblue · 03/08/2016 21:31

I'm a bit bothered about my toe mooj as the antibiotics don't appear to have made any difference (and they're massive doses four times a day) so I am going to ring the surgery again tomorrow if there's no improvement. Don't like the idea of having to ring three times in a week but neither do I like the idea of maybe having to find a doctor when we're away next week.

Did you not realise you collect packs of playing cards? It's amazing what you find when you start clearing out. My "thing" used to be buying tea towels but when the cupboard got so full, and I would still only use four or five and the rest were brand new, I knew I had to stop.

It's pouring down here and just after 9 pm, it was almost dark. I've put the fire on, it's so miserable.

moojangles · 03/08/2016 21:38

Glad you're going back to docs as I know feet are tricky. As for the cards, they range from the 70s to last year but I have never actually bought a pack. I blame my Mum, taught me to play patience at an early age to shut me up & get some peace & I now always travel with a deck.

Ilovelblue · 03/08/2016 21:45

I bet some of them are quite collectible now mooj.

My current craze, if that's the right word, is for reed diffusers. I'd never had one before until I got one for Christmas and decided I liked them but now have three around the house and another five I've picked up in sales or at a good price etc waiting to be used. They tend to be more expensive than tea towels as well!

Ilovelblue · 03/08/2016 21:46

I'm a bit paranoid about my foot, just because of all the bad news we've had at work lately I think.
