Starts tomorrow - anyone planning to watch?

It looks like a new version of Castaway without the heavy-handed interference of the TV crew and without the cosy huts provided.

Yes I saw the trailers for that and thought it looked good so I'll be watching.

It looks like they have learned lessons from Castaway.

They have apparently been away for a few months already.

I'm looking forward to it!

They've been away since March. Placemarking as intending to watch. Looks like they are doing it "properly" no letters from home, no dicking about getting "media experience" etc

I was intending to defect from BB if necessary. The experiment is for a whole year isn't it? and there's no prize.

Must remember to watch. This is where we go on holiday. We were up there at New Year and the locals were talking about it - it's provided a fair bit of work in putting up fencing etc.

Very limited wifi or mobile so limited chance of cheating. They will have been broken in gently. Mild spring and warm early summer and don't think it's been as wet as other parts of Scotland. Long light days this time of year but winters are very dark and can be very harsh.

Are they living off the land totally?

I can't wait for this. I LOVED Castaway.

Is it only on once a week?

I don't know how often it is on, I can't find anything about when it is on apart from tonight.

I think they are going to be totally self-sufficient, because apparently they only have what they have carried in. I hope they don't end up like 50000 Years BC, where they constantly had to be given help and food.

It looks like we can see four episodes to start with

“The idea is that, if people were given the building blocks for their own future, how would they respond? ” explains Channel 4 head of entertainment Liam Humphreys ahead of the broadcast of the first tranche of four episodes, which will be shown weekly from Monday. The filming is ongoing, with the series staggered across several months. “We’re really questioning whether consumerism makes people happy or if it’s like fast-food – it fills you up for a minute but how sustainable is it really?”

Oh so each Monday for 4 weeks and then a gap? Sounds good. I expect there isn't a lot to fill loads of episodes.

I saw something earlier which said there is a bakery and take-away a couple of miles down the road.
