I didn't get to explain before as I was going out the door and was in a rush.

So the video was who would end up on the Irone Throne according to historical precedent.

So, as we've said before on previous threads they have Aerys as Henry VI and Robert as Edward IV

ALL OF A SUDDEN she says Robert having been a warrior in Youth but being fat and sleazy in Old Age is also Henry VIII - I sort of see it.

THEN she says Joffrey is Henry Fitzroy - because Henry Fitzroy was Henry VIII bastard and Joffrey is Roberts bastard, but he ISN'T he's Jaime's bastard. This, she admits is the thinnest part of her argument as Henry Fitzoy never even sat the throne and predeceased his father. If anyone is Henry Fitzroy its Edric Storm/GENDRY

Tommen is Edward VI - weak and young and largely controlled by his mothers family. That works. Dies young.

Cersei represent LJG in that she attempts to seize the throne (or people attempted for her) and is executed for TREASON.

Can TOTALLY see Cersei being executed for Treason, to be honest.

Then Marg taking the throne and marrying someone from Dorne the way Mary married Philip Of Spain. Religious purge.

Then Sansa. But her argument for Sansa just doesn't work and the Elizabeth I allegory works for better for Dany. Her main argument for Sansa seems to be that she's ginger. Still, it's possible it won't be Dany. The people are not, in my opinion, going to take to the Dothraki etc.

Just been reading which locations we can expect to see in Monday's episode but thought I'd check its ok to post as some people don't like to know anything about the next episode

EverySongbirdSays · 25/06/2016 21:37

It's really Jorah's sword.

Jeor gave it to Jorah but he left it behind on Bear Island when he went into exile.

Meage (Lyanna's mother) gave it back to Jeor at Castle Black. Should be Lyanna's really. Or Jorah's at least.

Ok, its mainly speculation but here it is:-

Game of Thrones fans might be surprised when the show returns to Dorne in the final episode. We had last seen the Sand Snakes in the season 6 premiere and the fans were not happy with the way the show had changed the Dorne story. In the episode, we are going to see Obara Sand, Nymeria Sand, Tyene Sand, Ellaria Sand and we are wondering what might happen in Dorne. All we know is that they have killed Doran Martell and now they might want revenge against the Lannister's

This is where Lord Varys helps us in making a guess about what might happen. Lord Varys is going to appear in the episode and as we remember, in episode 8, he left Meereen as he needed to find some friends in Westeros. The Sand Snakes have the control of Dorne now and they want revenge. This seems to be a perfect match.

We are also going to see young Ned Stark and Howland Reed in the episode and it just means that Bran will follow Ned inside the Tower of Joy and see what actually happened to Lyanna Stark. This might be the scene where we get to know about Jon Snow’s parents and who knows, this insane fan theory might also turn out to be true.

We will also get to see the Night’s King and there’s also Bran and Benjen Stark, and Edd Tollett in the episode. So we are going to visit the Wall in the episode and if Bran crosses the Wall, there might be a possibility that the Wall might fall.

The Hound along with Thoros of Myr and Beric Dondarrion will be back in the episode and it might be possible that they come across Brienne of Tarth in the Riverlands. In the last episode, Brienne escaped from Riverrun and she still might be somewhere in the Riverlands, where the members of Brotherhood without Banners are present. If that happens, it will be interesting to see how the Hound reacts after seeing Brienne.

No worries MumandDad - we got most of that from looking through the imdb cast list earlier in the week. Grin

I'm not as on the ball as you lot Smile

TheNorthRemembers · 25/06/2016 22:03

Olenna If you remember Jon saved LC Mormont from the fire started by the wights. That fire damaged the pommel of Longclaw, so it needed a new one and Jeor asked for the pommel to be a beautiful direwolf (essentially Ghost). Then he gave Longclaw to Jon as a sign of his gratitude.

TheNorthRemembers · 25/06/2016 22:06

Thank you MomandDad. Much appreciated.

AliceInHinterland · 25/06/2016 22:13

Qu: Why did Brienne try to kill the hound?

OlennasWimple · 25/06/2016 22:14

Aha! Thanks

Do we know where Needle came from before Jon gave it to Arya?

Felascloak · 25/06/2016 22:16

I thought it was made especially for her olenna but not sure.

EverySongbirdSays · 25/06/2016 22:38

Alice

It doesn't happen in the books.

In the show, it's because she pledged her sword to House Stark and promised Catelyn she would locate and protect Arya and Sansa.

By the time she found either they were each too damaged to believe her. Arya wouldn't come of her own accord and Brienne took on the Hound. Arya still didn't trust her.

LadyStarkOfWinterfell · 25/06/2016 23:21

Jon had needle specially made for arya

AliceInHinterland · 25/06/2016 23:26

Thanks - I definitely need to re-read the books big I'm not sure I can bring myself to rewatch, some of it is just so brutal. I need a de-violenced version for wimps. I'm not sure there would be much left apart from naked women.

OlennasWimple · 25/06/2016 23:40

I watched a sanitized version of GoT once: without the boobs and violence, there really isn't much left Smile

Middleoftheroad · 26/06/2016 07:50

Gilly told the story of her sisters and greyscale - it was a sad story. Hopeful Jorah will pop up just when he's needed. If he is doomed I want him to reunite with Lyanna and their people first.

Mumanddadtoone · 26/06/2016 08:46

Jonathon Pryce has given an interview and said what we can expect to see in tomorrow's episode.

“Everyone is waiting impatiently for Cersei’s trial in the Sept. Literally everybody is going to be there. My protagonist has let his guard down – he is absolutely certain that Cersei will show up (at his request). When the messengers inform him that she hasn’t left her home he still believes that she is going to show up at the trial because in his opinion she should be there.”

“Meanwhile, behind his back — and in his closest environment — there is some scheming going on and everybody is plotting against everybody. The tension is gradually building as the huge Sept is filling up with people — High Sparrow is still happy with the turn of events and he is convinced that everything is going according to the plan. He does not suspect that something unpleasant is about to happen…”

DailyFailAteMyFish · 26/06/2016 09:39

Huh, just spotted.
Sansa uses her needle work skills to make a cloak for John and a dress with the Stark sigil on it and maybe even the new Stark banner. I wonder what Arya will use her needle working skills for...

AliceInHinterland · 26/06/2016 11:45

Nice parallel Daily

AliceInHinterland · 26/06/2016 11:47

That's quite spoilery of him mumanddad looking forward to him getting his comeuppance- though it's not that simple by the sound of it.

TheNorthRemembers · 26/06/2016 11:49

MumandDad So Cersei will burn them down? But how will that save Tommen? So many questions.

EverySongbirdSays · 26/06/2016 13:00

Sounds like we are right about the wyldfyre then.

THIRTEEN HOURS TO GO.

OP posts:
Mumanddadtoone · 26/06/2016 13:31

Think I may have to stay up and watch it tonight

MaterofDragons · 26/06/2016 13:33

He probably doesn't realise that fans will read through the lines and spot the real storyline. It does sound as though he's given a lot away.

I think Cersei will burn the High Sparrow alive and unintentionally kill Tommen and possibly Loras too. Then Margary will really go for her.
