A discussion thread for those of us with no self control at all, who have finished OITNB S4.

What was your favourite moment from the series?

What are you most looking forward to from season 5?

Yes uk Netflix, it was quite in depth too which was good as I'd forgotten a lot! It looked like it was its own "episode" rather than being tacked on to the start of ep 1

TobleroneBoo · 22/06/2016 07:18

Haha Honey that works too! I might rewatch the whole thing

LadyStarkOfWinterfell · 22/06/2016 07:34

The recaps are separate on Netflix

Scarydinosaurs · 22/06/2016 07:45

I'm now binge watching Jane the Virgin. I have learned nothing.

honeysucklejasmine · 22/06/2016 08:46

Jane the Virgin is excellent. Season 2 not there yet though. Currently playing on E4 but All 4 only has last few episodes so no good.

I LOVE Jane the Virgin!

Scarydinosaurs · 22/06/2016 10:33

I'm really enjoying it!

I also love the variety of body shapes on there! It's a refreshing change after watching Suits!

tribpot · 22/06/2016 10:37

God yes. I love Suits but the apparent requirement at the law firm that all women (except Harvey's assistant who isn't Donna) must wear suffocatingly tight clothing is painful.

Scarydinosaurs · 22/06/2016 10:45

I do love their outfits, and I do have a disproportionally high number of similar pencil dresses and skirts in my wardrobe...but literally every woman in that show is a size 6/8 and it takes it out of reality for me! I think they believe this is what people want to see...it just isn't!

EnidButton · 22/06/2016 10:49

I couldn't get into Suits.

Thanks LadyStark that would explain why I missed it.

tribpot · 22/06/2016 11:18

It is bizarrely off-putting, isn't it Scary? I think it's designed to show they are all uber-New Yorkers. But all three women (Donna, Rachel, Jessica - not to mention also Scotty and Lewis' sister when they're in it) are fascinating, interesting and funny characters in their own right, they don't need to dress in this ridiculously uncomfortable fashion to be watchable.

Scarydinosaurs · 22/06/2016 11:21

Yes!! Exactly! Even my DH notices that nearly every episode passes the Bechdel test AND YET they are dressed like barbie dolls every episode. It was only in her grief they let Rachel wear a baggy cardigan at the end of last season!

I can wait for season five still. And I have season seven of The Good Wife still to watch!

tribpot · 22/06/2016 11:26

Yes, poor Rachel was definitely a bad way when she put on an oversized cardie. Perhaps they should all take turns getting sent to prison like in OITNB so as to try out a more casual wardrobe - I don't think anything else would get them into a pair of loose trousers or a t-shirt.

I often wonder if some of these outfits are so tight they can't actually sit down whilst wearing them. Let alone eat a sarnie at lunchtime.

Scarydinosaurs · 22/06/2016 11:43

trib I would LOVE a suits and OITNB crossover. Send Jessica in! She'd be running things in no time!

honeysucklejasmine · 22/06/2016 11:59

I still think Firefly when I see Jessica.

EnidButton · 22/06/2016 15:18

Is it worth looking past the superficial plasticness of everyone and getting into Suits then? I'm lacking something to binge on.

Scarydinosaurs · 22/06/2016 15:38

Suits is awesome. Yes yes, definitely watch it!

Also- The Good Wife!

tribpot · 22/06/2016 17:01

Yes, they actually aren't plastic characters, despite looking like refugees from the set of Dynasty, what's why the wardrobe choice is so annoying.

Interestingly I don't think Zoe from Firefly and Jessica from Suits would get on at all, despite being played by the same person. Ultimate crossover! (Slight problem of one living 500 years after the other).

Also worth binging on: White Collar. And Nashville for anyone who has Amazon Prime.

EnidButton · 22/06/2016 17:11

Right I'll give it another try then. Thank you Smile I started watching it right after finishing The Good Wife so that might be why it didn't grab me. Desperate for NF to pick up the last series of Good Wife. I missed it when it aired on tv.

MissBattleaxe · 22/06/2016 18:04

Saw Piper get branded last night. Oof! also- Stella popped up for a scene! Good to have Nicki back. Natasha Lyonne is so watchable.

Scarydinosaurs · 22/06/2016 18:08

trib would I like firefly??

MissBattleaxe · 22/06/2016 18:29

(polite cough)

Could we get back on topic please my friends?

gaggiagirl · 22/06/2016 19:24

Poor Caputo, he's basically a nice man, I loved it when he stood up to Pisscattelli in the end.

BlueKarou · 22/06/2016 19:59

I started out going 'ooh, Piscatella looks fun', then swiftly hating him.

Such a dark series, this one. Losing Lolly to psych was heartbreaking, then Poussey rounded it off awfully. Taystee was definitely my break out fave of the series; such good acting.
