Come on look at them!

GAME OF THRONES S6 E7 - SPOILERS AND FAN THEORY DISCUSSION WARNING 2AM SHOWING ONWARDS
emilybohemia · 07/06/2016 12:34

IT's not sexual tension between Tormund and Brienne though. Tormund fancies her and she's not into it.

NeedACleverNN · 07/06/2016 12:36

Only because she isn't really used to it

Will be interesting if Jaime, Brienne and Tormund were in the same room

WeDoNotSow · 07/06/2016 12:38

Thank you Emily!
Tormund is fucking creepy, Brienne looks creeped out/disgusted!
Why should Briwnne have to be grateful for any bit of male attention because she isn't traditionally beautiful and isn't feminine? She ahiuldnt have to 'take what she can get'!

LadyStarkOfWinterfell · 07/06/2016 12:39

Brienne wouldn't know what to do with a sexual feeling if it bit her on the nose. I reckon she does fancy tormund but it's freaking her out

WeDoNotSow · 07/06/2016 12:48

Brienne knew she loved Renly.

NeedACleverNN · 07/06/2016 12:49

But she knew she wouldn't have sex with him as he was a gay as they come!

She might understand love but she's probably never felt lust

ClarkL · 07/06/2016 12:56

I googled the theory - I should not have googled the theory. I have no had to message my husband to confess to knowing the theory.
This is worse than the time I found out the sex of my second child and didn't tell anyone

WeDoNotSow · 07/06/2016 13:02

NeedA I do get what people are saying, I just think people are being massively patronising about her.
I don't think she should 'take what she can get'
Brienne has expensive taste.
Renly. Jaime.
Lords who are well put together.
Not some scruffy wildling in rags

EverySongbirdSays · 07/06/2016 13:08

"Tormund fancies her and she's not into it"

I don't think she GETS that he fancies her though, ordinarily a woman might be like

"I think he fancies me" Blush

OR

"I think he fancies me" Envy VOM

But Brienne is more like :

I am Confused by this strange fellow

TheNorthRemembers · 07/06/2016 13:35

Brienne did not know Reply was gay though. Bless.

AintNobodyHereButUsKittens · 07/06/2016 13:44

Brienne did know he preferred men. As his bodyguard she'd have to be blind to misunderstand his relationship with Loras. She says so in so many words, along with "I'm not an idiot".

AintNobodyHereButUsKittens · 07/06/2016 13:49

And it's not that we don't think Brienne deserves a fabulous eligible man who she really fancies. We do, we just think that the only plausible way for that to happen is for her to start fancying Tormund Grin.

Troutfin27 · 07/06/2016 13:58

But Tormund is HOT! I so would...

CaptainWarbeck · 07/06/2016 14:07

If Brienne went for Renly, maybe Tormund isn't really her type...

Arya stabbing scene was weird:

  • why was she strolling around Braavos throwing money around in plain sight when in the last scene she was hiding out in the dark
  • why didn't she have Needle on her when she went and got it straight away and knows she's a target
  • why does she stand on a bridge for all to see?
  • the bit where she walks through the streets bleeding seemed really odd too although I can't put my finger on why.

I too think Syrio and Jaqen might be one and the same. Both have affection for the girl, both worship the many faced god. Plus Arya named Jaqen as someone he should kill... perhaps he's making good on that now. It would explain the 'don't let her suffer' line.

Plus, the Waif is absolutely rubbish at being no one. She clearly hates Arya, doesn't do an effective kill and doesn't even hang around to make sure she's dead!

Your comments on The Waif Grin

OP posts:
CaptainWarbeck · 07/06/2016 14:32

Sorry that wasn't super clear... back a few seasons ago, Jaqen let Arya pick three names who he would kill for her since she saved three lives - and her third name was Jaqen himself, right? So he obviously didn't kill himself then but maybe he's doing it now by taking Arya's face and letting the Waif kill him instead.

Except the Waif was shit at killing him... I don't know. My head is all confused trying to explain that Arya scene!

iisme · 07/06/2016 14:35

No, she didn't name Jaqen as someone he should kill. She threatened to name him in order to get him to do something he didn't want to do (kill more than her allocated number, I think?) and he agreed to do that so that she wouldn't name him.

CaptainWarbeck · 07/06/2016 14:37

And I thought that stylised leap-roll thing 'Arya' did off the bridge into the water was very Syrio like...

plus when she's at the bridge we see the Titan of Braavos with his broken sword, and last time we saw Syrio he was fighting with a broken sword.

It's hard to know how much to read into all of it. With the books yes, there are clues all the way along, but I thought the show was less intricately planned. Then I went back and started watching the first season again and there are sooo many hints about what's to come and theories etc.

CaptainWarbeck · 07/06/2016 14:44

Yeah iisme she did name him, then agreed to take it back if he helped her and her friends escape. He killed all the guards for her so they could walk out.

WeDoNotSow · 07/06/2016 14:51

Aryawas bowling about like she owned the place though, wasn't she? Grin
I think Aryas always been more sneaky than cocky, I don't think it was her, but a few theories about who it was
I think it was No-one...

LadyStarkOfWinterfell · 07/06/2016 15:03

It seems mad that arya was hiding in a cave with needle in the dark last week, and swaggering around unprotected, throwing bags of money around this week. Not congruent with her character. She has always been able to be invisible and blend in wherever she is. So...

CaitAgusMadra · 07/06/2016 15:12

Yes - there was something a bit off about that scene.

  • the bit where she walks through the streets bleeding seemed really odd too although I can't put my finger on why.

I have no idea about what is going on but hope it's not the 'fight club' scenario as that's a cop out imo.

About the B + A = J theory...why would Ned have not just said he was Brandon's bastard? To protect Cats memory of Brandon as it seems in the books like she had feelings for Brandon and none for Ned at that stage?

Every can you explain the relevance of the lemon tree and red door?

When Dany remembers her childhood she also thinks of Ser William who was the knight who took the Queen and Viserys to Dragonstone during the war. He then took the kids to the free cities a few years (?) later. So the baby would somehow have been taken from Dorne to Dragonstone before the Targs left. Also not clear to me why Ashara wouldn't have just raised her as her own child (she had the blond hair etc). Surely posing her as Aerys/Rhaella's daughter would just put her in more danger

May have given this too much thought

TheNorthRemembers · 07/06/2016 15:20

Ashara specifically had dark hair.

Dany thinks she was raised in Braavos and thwy had a lemon tree in the gatden, but there are no lemon trees in Braavos. This has been reiterated in the books again and again. It might just be case of unreliable narrator.
