I think they've kept the same script writer but CE doesn't have the voice or delivery to make it interesting

I love Sabine, she's a brilliant driver and very witty.

The script writer is surely the same. Close your eyes and it could be Jeremy clarkson not Chris Evans talking.

DS is not happy, DH is trying to persuade him to give it a go.

They had several script writers. One of the main ones was Richard Porter who runs the SniffPetrol website and wrote the "And on that bombshell..." book. But Clarkson did re-write bits of the script plus some of it was more-or-less improvised.
