FTFOAFOSM · 16/05/2016 17:14

ooh, that's actually a good point, because we didn't see what happened to the baby, did we? Or did we? (Can't remember that far back now!)

TrionicLettuce · 16/05/2016 17:40

I'm very intrigued by the secret from the High Sparrow that Tommen told Cersei. Whatever it was, Cersei went from pretty confident that Zombie Gregor would win her trial by combat to suggesting military action against the faith.

Is the High Sparrow aware she intends to demand a trial by combat? If so perhaps he shared the identity of the intended champion of the Faith and now she's a lot less confident?

Or perhaps I'm grasping at straws because I'm overly invested in the idea of Cleganebowl Grin

maggiso · 16/05/2016 17:49

Oh good pointTrionic! I wonder if the Dog (other Clegane) was nursed back to health by the monks of the faith and will represent the 7? That could be very interesting! I thought it was a good episode and I did not foresee Dany taking over the Dothraki.

Middleoftheroad · 16/05/2016 17:57

I too thought this implied Loras is Kevin's son!

No Tower of Joy or Bran
Scheming Littlefinger gave Sansa to the Boultons so interesting to see who the knights of the Vale will really fight for. Robin may soon rival Joff for most revered tweenager in Westeros

This series had better end with Dany crossing the narrow sea by dragon or with the first sea bound Dothraki

Middleoftheroad · 16/05/2016 17:58

I meant least revered doh!!! Grin

Middleoftheroad · 16/05/2016 18:01

Interesting theory about Dany's son...
The Prince who was promised? Only on book one so maybe I'm barking up the wrong weirwood.....

TheNorthRemembers · 16/05/2016 18:23

Elspeth "Whereas it was more expedient to get a bit of control of the North, get Sansa knocked up with a Northern wonder child, and worry about the petty details like a pre-existing marriage afterwards."

Elspeth You are so funny! Grin

They have to work extra hard to make me interested in Dany again, but I shall pay close attention this time.

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 16/05/2016 18:45

I'm reckoning that at some point dany will dream of drogo (the person) and will wake up pregnant from it. Or is that too cliched?

Middleoftheroad · 16/05/2016 20:11

Anything's possible BeyondTells!

My predictions re a potential battle at Winterfell "it's time to join the Frey," says Littlefinger (or similar)

Jon, Sansa, Brienne and wildlings (plus a bit of Melisandre for blood magic incase Snow is iced once again)

vs

Boultons and a) Northern houses - or can the Starks reunite the Northern houses or did Robb's beheading of the Carstarks put pay to that?
b) Turncoat Peytr and Knights of Vale

But then maybe Theon and the Iron islanders come to help team Jansa? Of course, Rickon is still a pawn

Missushb · 16/05/2016 20:31

Did Dany's hair not burn the first time, back in Season 1?! Was intact this time!

MaterofDragons · 16/05/2016 20:31

Loved the ending. Go Mother of Dragons!

Tormund and Brienne's love child would be some badass.

Middleoftheroad · 16/05/2016 20:41

Mater I agree about the baby - the new Mountain. Tormund is a bit different to fancy Renly in many ways, but here's hoping he's her type.

Middleoftheroad · 16/05/2016 20:45

Just seen Ep5 trailer - excited is all I'm saying!!!!

ClashCityRocker · 16/05/2016 20:51

Aw, tormund and Brienne!

Fab episode, I thought.

I did prefer the old daarios though - he had much more style whilst this one is more of a ten-a-penny sell sword thug.

Love to see Sansa with a bit of spunk.

Shame about Osha, I liked her and thought she was a good character. The scene was a bit predictable though.

Hasnt Robert grown?

It will be interesting to see what side the northern lords ultimately end up on.

I really liked the scene where Brienne tells melisandre about killing stannis.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 16/05/2016 20:58

Ooooooooh! I loved that! Go Dany! I do love it when she actually does stuff, and suddenly you remember why we were all rooting for her back in season 1, before she just ruled boringly for ages.

Cersei and the Queen of Thorns - brilliant.

Brienne and Tormund - double brilliant.

I nearly cried with joy when the gates opened and Sansa, Brienne and Pod were there BEFORE Jon left! I was so convinced that he was going to piss off into the snow and miss them by a few hours. And I love new confident Sansa. I hope next week Brienne takes Littlefinger's head clean off with one swipe of Oathbreaker.

Yy to wondering what Davos is going to do when he finds out about Shireen. It's not going to be pretty. I think Melisandre is going to be one dead Red Woman then.

The North remembers and they are also fiercely independent. I reckon some will stick to Bolton, like the Karstarks, and some will rise with the Starks, like the Manderleys and possibly the Umbers. Oh, and don't forget Lady Mormont - she's bound to come down on the side of the Starks. I really hope they save Rickon!

V excited at the trailer for next week - Arya gets a mission! I still think it's going to be to kill someone important - who would be important enough to the Braavosi to hire a faceless assassin to off? Ooooh, maybe it'll be Tyrion or Danaerys. Or Cersei or Tommen. I don't think the Braavosi would care enough about Sansa to bother sending Arya to kill either her or Jon Snow at this point. It'll be someone that's a bigger threat to the interests of the Iron Bank.

And then there's Bran in a vision surrounded by White Walkers...squeeeeeeeeee!

PreviouslyMal · 16/05/2016 21:14

Brienne's sword is Oath keeper Wink
A tumble with Tormund is just what she needs Grin

ThatsMyStapler · 16/05/2016 21:19

I thought her hair burnt last time, bit too much boob at the end though, wouldnt someone give her a cloak or something?

scarletmonkey · 16/05/2016 21:22

Ahh, Tormund and Brienne. There could be a love story. If they really hit it off, they could have the most kick ass children ever! (it's the romantic in me Grin)

Glad that Sansa and Jon are going to rally the North against the Boltons. But how many Northern houses weren't killed/captured by the Freys at the Red Wedding?

ThatsMyStapler · 16/05/2016 21:44

ah, she had hair

JeepersMcoy · 16/05/2016 21:45

I'm so glad sansa is getting some real badass back bone. I am now secretly hoping she might get to off Ramsey herself. That would be awesome.

Brianne and beardy dude are my new favouritist GOT couple. Super adorable :o

I was also relieved that Osha went quickly at least. I am a bit over all the torture now.

n0ne · 16/05/2016 21:48

OMG, best ep so far this series!!! Loads of surprises. Two Starks actually manage to meet each other. But best bit obviously Jorah and Daario thinking they need to rescue Daenerys. Pah! She's the Mother of Dragons!

Really feel like we're ticking along now after three set-up episodes. Can't wait for next week.

Sandsnake · 16/05/2016 21:54

I want Sansa to be the one to kill Ramsay.

FreiasBathtub · 16/05/2016 22:00

A much better episode! So bored of the High Sparrow but Jonathan Pryce is acting almost everyone else off the screen. Good to see Sansa and Daenerys taking a bit more control of their destinies.

I assumed Tommen's High Sparrow secret was that Maergery has to do a walk of shame, as Cersei went straight to the Tyrells to use it as leverage (unless that's been mentioned before and I missed it).

I think Drogon is the stallion that strode the world, Daenerys is after all the mother of dragons. Really like that point about her conquering and Tyrion ruling. Her morals are far too rigid to be a successful politician!

In the North, we've not seen any fallout from the Freys following death of Roose's wife and baby. Might they be back in the game, or were they only relevant because Robb needed to get South? So long ago, I can't remember!

V excited for next week!

Gardencentregroupie · 16/05/2016 22:00

I love that Dany sorted out her own rescue.

I have always found it very suspicious that as major a character as Stannis was killed offscreen. Hmm. Melisandre was odd in this episode wasn't she? Almost a bit depressed or something.

MaterofDragons · 16/05/2016 22:14

Thanks TrionicLettuce for posting about the complete histories and lore. Really enjoyed watching those.
