I've just seen the new .

Hang on to your hats for a another round of pregnancy/childbirth bingo and the continuing adventures of the most drama-filled antenatal group and understaffed maternity unit in the country!

Previous thread here to remind yourselves of last series/loose ends and see if any of Bertie's predictions come true!

OP posts:

To be fair, I think they pulled back the swap storyline by making the mother have second thoughts - it would have been utterly ludicrous had it gone through, but it's maybe just about credible on the basis that Louis' mother was desperate not to lose him and anyone can go a bit mad just after giving birth.

TrixieBernadette · 25/05/2016 10:44

I said that last week Dame. He's setting her up to fuck her over

CremeEggThief · 25/05/2016 12:25

I think you're both right, Trixie and Dame.

dottypotter · 25/05/2016 12:50

I don't think much of Roanna sleeping with her ex husband when her mil is looking after the baby. No mention of Rosie last night.

SheHasAWildHeart · 25/05/2016 13:50

I've a horrible feeling that Rowana's ex is going to dump her to pay her back for leaving him!
I don't know if the show is that clever. Plus he'd hurt his daughter even more, he has paid her settlement, seems to be protecting her from Simon's dad etc.

I thought it was sweet how we're supposed to wonder how someone young like Simon who's out at bars with his friends would be with someone older - while he's sat in said bar wearing a granddad jumper that even my 60+ dad wouldn't wear.

Tigresswoods · 25/05/2016 14:32

Ah Simon's jumper. It's a metaphor for being a poor artist.

26milesofsmiles · 25/05/2016 14:40

I missed last night's so have avoided the last few posts but feel I have to interject at this point to say I am Blush that I have only realised upon reading this thread that leopard lady is the mum of the baby in the toilet. Blush I thought she'd genuinely found the baby and the reason she's been so interested in it is because she was thinking about kidnapping it to have as her own.

Agree Dolly and her dd is awful

dylsmimi · 25/05/2016 15:58

Just catching up on this and it is getting more ridiculous but them there are some genuine lovely moments in the midst of the crazy (mostly Dev and jasmin)
Kim drives me mad she is so annoying! Everytime I see her typing her blog with the voiceover I think 'who do you think you are doogie howser??!' Smile. old

BertieBotts · 25/05/2016 17:37

There is something up with the two dads. I wonder what the back story is to the failed attempt at adoption?

I thought Ray was so whiny and self centred this time. 'Is he a better lover?' cue exaggerated whine and sadface. And asking the daughter if she'd thought what he wanted Confused

Think the ultimatum was fair though. And will be interesting to see if the set up prediction comes true. I thought it was a nice touch to have Simon run into the daughter at the club. That highlighted the age difficulties nicely.

SheHasAWildHeart · 25/05/2016 19:03

For someone who is PFB Kin spends more time on her pretentious humourless blog than her daughter.

Re the gay couple - dunno why but I thought the Paul N character was going to come onto Simon at one point. Glad the women owned up to the baby swap coz I found it difficult watching. Shocked that nurse let her change baby's nappy and clothes which made it easy for her to swap babies in the first place.

desperatehousewife21 · 25/05/2016 20:08

Yeah surely there are v strict rules about NCU and who is allowed in and surely they would change the babies in there not outside the door where anyone could walk off with them??

I thought the gay dad mentioning the failed adoption was significant too, why did it fail?? Background check etc?

NorfolkEnchantsToday · 25/05/2016 20:12

I'm only watching for Ray if I'm honest!

Chippednailvarnishing · 25/05/2016 22:03

Just watching this on catch up, Ray is worth watching for...

The rest of it is just bollocks Grin

caitlinohara · 25/05/2016 22:56

I watched the second episode by chance having never seen the first series. i really enjoyed it, but it was mostly Hermione Norris to be fair. The other episodes have been absolute crap! It's so predictable and yet unbelievable at the same time. Can't understand why all these famous actors agreed to be involved. Also can't understand why I continue to watch it...

AmysTiara · 26/05/2016 00:07

The ex husband of Hermione Norris is a shit actor. I can't stand listening to him.

paniniswapx3 · 26/05/2016 00:31

That's the thing Amys, you're right, he's such a shit actor that it's hard to tell if he's shafting her or being genuine. His voice annoys me too!

BertieBotts · 26/05/2016 12:28

I reckon one of the gay dads (they are such rubbish characters I can't even remember their names!) is going to turn out to be involved in some massive fraud case. They are throwing money at every problem. And that's why they failed the background check. Then Shelley will get to keep her baby AND start her business and the uncle and nephew will grow up together all happily.

YoureSoSlyButSoAmI · 26/05/2016 12:32

It's all nonsense but I love it 😄

TheNaze73 · 26/05/2016 12:47

It's ridiculous nonsense for a Tuesday evening but, I love it! From the sublime Happy Valley through to The A Word & now this, the BBC does seem to get that post Holby slot, spot on

SheHasAWildHeart · 26/05/2016 13:14

The ex husband of Hermione Norris is a shit actor.
That crying in the car/park was the worst bit. I would have been running to Simon as fast as I could!

ohidoliketobe · 26/05/2016 16:30

Just caught up on episodes 3 &4. ARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH
Main issues:
Rosie - sorry? How did your boyfriend register the child's birth? If it's leading to a further plot line then why didn't blonde pick up on that?
Childminding accident story. Ridiculous.
Rush to hospital - they put baby Ben (blondies son) I a car seat in Dev's van on the way there. But when both couples are leaving hospital there's some pointless, confusing, adds nothing to the storyline conversation where Dev says he can't take Ben in the car because he's already in enough trouble?
Baby swap. Are you fucking kidding me?
Also, the hospital just goes "oh you little tinkers. Ah well, no problem let's just swap them back and off you go".
Leopard print coat mum and daugter then take baby Louis home. Hmm. Where did that car seat and moses basket come from? Must be 24 hour mothercare next to the hospital, obvs.

Think Dev is a great character, the Rowanna storyline is good and not quite at that "this is fucking ridiculous" point just yet, but judging odd how this series has gone so far it's oly a matter of one episode.
Of course, I will watch it next week.

Twoseventhsaweasley · 26/05/2016 16:41

Most of it is utterly ridiculous. However, I liked the storyline about the young woman who was acting as a surrogate finding it difficult to give the baby up but ultimately deciding that she was not ready to be a parent and the baby would be better off with the two Dads.

I hope baby Sebby will be OK with hid Daddies and the reason that adoption "didn't work out" is nothing horrible.

gingerboy1912 · 26/05/2016 19:02

Agree about the actor being shit he was in Doc Martin and acted exactly the same.

notamummy10 · 26/05/2016 21:42

I'm watching the latest episode now... Why did the nurse let Maxine change and feed Louis? Surely only the foster parents and nurses would be able to do that?
