I've just seen the new .

Hang on to your hats for a another round of pregnancy/childbirth bingo and the continuing adventures of the most drama-filled antenatal group and understaffed maternity unit in the country!

Previous thread here to remind yourselves of last series/loose ends and see if any of Bertie's predictions come true!

Yes I think the idea was she was busy but safeguarding should really be in place there.

BikeRunSki · 27/05/2016 09:25

Why did the hospital not question how over invested Maxine was in Louis?

kinkytoes · 27/05/2016 11:31

I think the answer to all these questions is that the storylines are shit.

I agree the accuracy in the story lines is pathetic I'm on the verge of giving up with it tbh

MoonriseKingdom · 28/05/2016 05:42

It's mainly enjoyable rubbish but the baby swap story line was so utterly ridiculous.

  • they wouldn't have allowed her to keep visiting the baby (and feeding him!) even if she had 'found him'.
  • how did she get out the door with him? Front door of baby unit would be locked and woman with baby in arms would be suspicious.
  • why did no one call the police after baby swap was revealed?
  • they let her take the baby home!!!!! No DNA test and a self confessed baby kidnapper!!!!
RebootYourEngine · 28/05/2016 05:53

Watched the last episode yesterday. Its still as far fetched as ever but its too far fetched to miss. I watch to see what rubbish will come next.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/05/2016 00:40

Guess she thought swapping baby would have meant she still would have seen him when cleaning their house

But when they said they called an agency in to clean she reliesed she may not ever see Louie again and why she confessed

Agree adoption comment may have meant something isn't right .....

ingenvillvetavardukoptdintroja · 29/05/2016 05:05

I CANNOT BELIEVE SHE TOOK THE BABY HOME!!
in nicu no one was allowed to touch our baby except parents! As if they'd let a random in a ratty coat do all the caring!
Addictive though... Have to see the series through!

2ManySweets · 29/05/2016 07:20

I can't actually get over what a disappointment this series has been. I remember finer acting and more believable storylines in "Children's Ward" back in the 90s.

That baby swap storyline had more holes than an emmental and was so far fetched it would surely NEVER EVER happen.

Also: Roanna's husband has the face of a man permanently worried he's left one of the hob rings on.

Total bollocks.

Plus Katherine Robinson's "Trent meets Thames" accent drives me up the wall.

dylsmimi · 29/05/2016 09:08

Another hole in the baby swap story besides the ridiculousness of a random woman caring for a found poorly baby!
Don't all hospitals now have tags on their legs a bit like clothes security tags and a lot stronger than the identity bracelets that they ripped off
I still enjoy it just have to suspend belief!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 29/05/2016 09:19

She wouldn't have been allowed in scbu with her ratty coat! Coats has to be left outside when ds was in there. We weren't allowed to look at the other babies let alone pick up one!! Shock

MoonriseKingdom · 29/05/2016 09:51

'Dylsmimi* - not everywhere. I have worked in places in recent years with security tags just like a name band so easily cut off. My local hospital has name bands but no security tags on either postnatal ward and special care. However in both there is a locked door and i think it would be very unlikely (although not impossible) for someone to leave special care with a baby in arms.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 29/05/2016 10:19

We had plastic tags but had to be buzzed in and out of scbu. Long time ago though, 15 years.

dylsmimi · 29/05/2016 11:12

Ahh ok moonrise I will let the writers off with that one! Grin

TrixieBernadette · 29/05/2016 17:30

She didn't rip the tags off either, she used scissors didn't she?

BertieBotts · 29/05/2016 18:56

Yes they cut both of them off, which would have looked suspicious!

I also thought there's no way those babies weighed exactly the same. So as soon as they weighed one of them they'd go "WTF?"

NeedACleverNN · 31/05/2016 21:30

I don't recal my blood pressure or temperature taken straight after birth with either of my two.

Is that normal?

yes this is becoming a bit far fetched

TrixieBernadette · 31/05/2016 21:34

I was post section so I did obviously. I don't remember compression socks unless there was a section though?

Friolero · 31/05/2016 21:34

I can't remember that either! I was left for ages, I just thought that once you've had your baby you're not a priority anymore as they're busy helping the people still in labour.

TrixieBernadette · 31/05/2016 21:39

Do you think they'll check her for alcohol now?

NeedACleverNN · 31/05/2016 21:42

I had to wear compression socks with Dd when I went into threatened pre term labour but none when I actually went into full blown labour

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 31/05/2016 21:44

Can you imagine Simon & Ro's relationship thread?

We're both sleeping with other people but we're going to have an airport reunion. And we haven't quite decided to be together so the exes are moping around.

Head desk.

kinkytoes · 31/05/2016 21:45

Considering they all have young children, they never seem to be looking after them, do they?

NeedACleverNN · 31/05/2016 21:48

No it's brilliant isn't it?

Have a baby, see them when you fancy but they go invisible when inconvenient. I think lots of parents would love one of them

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 31/05/2016 21:48

They all have such easy children.
