Other one massive!

What was that about Jackie's parents coming into the house?? What were they like?

Shilpa, awful, horrible stuck up woman. Must go. Leo, slimy, up himself, childish. Must go.

Didn't watch last night. Fill me in!

OP posts:
AitchTwoOh · 14/01/2007 23:41

RTKangaMummy · 14/01/2007 23:42

Ok ok guys I realise there is no point in continuing to dicuss CBB with you anymore

I give in and I am going to bed

I still do not like shilpa

I don't like some of the others either

You win I give up I am too tired to continue with this

There are more important things going on around here this week

to argue about this

AitchTwoOh · 15/01/2007 00:06

don't feel 'got at' kangamummy. it's just amazing to me that we could be watching the same show and coming to such drastically different conclusions. that's why i asked for some examples of her manipulatory behaviour etc but i honestly don't think anyone's come up with a good one.

ledodgy · 15/01/2007 00:19

I've completley changed my mind I think Shilpa is a wonderful person who is kind to animals and children....

AitchTwoOh · 15/01/2007 00:25

too late, ledodgy. please check your pillow when you retire to bed tonight where you will find a horse's head with a call centre headset on.

ledodgy · 15/01/2007 00:26

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo........

ellasmum1 · 15/01/2007 02:07

Just watched all weekend cbb on sky plus, have been shouting at telly! sexwannabe, and Jade are completely thick, spoilt, immature poisonous slappers. Shilpa is a well brought up, mature and secure woman who just can't get on with them because they may as well be a completely different species. Completely agree with what jermaine has said to shilpa about it.
Jade and Danielle are poor examples of womankind. Shilpa so far makes me proud to be one.

fuzzywuzzy · 15/01/2007 08:19

Shilpa is famous, her first film was a total hit (she got murdered in the middle, but got ctapaulted ito bbolywood starsdom), then she made om major flops, disappeared for a while and upon her return (complete with a new nose, and I'm sure new stomach), got some major hits, she's been acting for about 14 years, and consdidering that bolywood churns out about a squillion movies per year, she should have loads of films to her name.

She was accused of having mafia connection (but then most bolywood movies stars are accused of such, it's how one can tell they've arrived).

And Shamita is her younger sister, plays vamp roles mostly, ans is not yet as big as her sister.

I'd put Shilpa in the Biolywood equivelant of the Julia Roberts stratosphere.

sockmonkey · 15/01/2007 10:38

Makes you wonder why she bothered to do BB. Surely she doesn't need the cash, why put yourself in the house to be bullied by a dim WAG & her BFF (who she met 3 times before coming in the house) Jade.

TBH I just am not enjoying it much this year... however the Jackson 5 / steps tribute was funny, esp Dirk & his dancing

LieselVentouse · 15/01/2007 10:40

Kanga dont go, I also felt got at on Saturday night becauseof my dislike of Shilpa and to the point I was madeout to be a rascist and thought time to leave.

dotcotton · 15/01/2007 11:08

I was part of that discussion on sat night and i'm pretty sure no-one was calling you racist, we were saying that Danielle and co were, and before that Jackiey. I genuinely can't see that Shilpa is being manipulative and there are a few like me, we just want an explanation of how.

If you just don't like her that's your opinion, and no-one can change it but surely you must agree that they are bullying her now? Even Dermy said so! Don't go either of you, i like these discussions getting so passionate about a load of d listers who none of us should really care about!!

LieselVentouse · 15/01/2007 11:51

It wasnt you dot it wassomeone else.

southeastastra · 15/01/2007 11:52

does anyone know why when i flip this thread the last post is wednesday 10 jan? am i going mad or is it split?

JoolsToo · 15/01/2007 12:52

India Knight

"I used not to mind them
but now I don't like anyone - especially not that little coven of cretins who are giving Shilpa such a hard time for such predictable, depressing, stupid reasons. Danielle, who I'd thought was quite sweet - thick, but sweet - turns out to be ugly on the inside. Jo, who I'd thought was smiley and benign, is just rough, in every sense. Jade - well, you know. As for her tosser (literally, last night, I gather) of a boyfriend calling Shilpa a "f***g Paki" - allegedly - what's he doing in there? If I were a producer, I'd boot him out immediately. In what possible respect is that an okay thing to say?

It's playground stuff, the Shilpa bullying, and her life in the real world is nice while theirs is borderline tragic, but still. I'm not enjoying watching it. Also, what's up with Cleo? I like her - remnants of an Eighties girl-crush - but does she have to be so utterly spinless?

I agree, India. Where's Miss Whiplash now? That silly little WAG is getting away with murder. How dare she call Shilpa a dog? Jade is just continuing her mother's racist mission to try and destroy Shilpa's confidence. I wish Cleo spoke out more as she is intelligent and articulate. Even when Jermaine is trying to console and advise Shilpa, Cleo is sitting on the fence. I think they all need more things to do. They were all so happy doing the tribute bands tast last night. I think its what their toxic minds turn to when the three witches get bored as none of them has any moral code nor any spiritaul beliefs. Their minds spiral down to the depths of petty hatred and prejudice. Borderline tragic is how their lives will stay. They cannot raise their game, even with good examples all around in the shape of Shilpa, Dirk, Jermaine and Cleo.

noddyholder · 15/01/2007 13:19

Agree wholeheartedly with the last 2 posts!

seasonscheatings · 15/01/2007 13:26

RTKM - interesting thoughts:

'Cos no one had heard of her or knew anything about her or her life'. Er, quite a lot of people have heard of her actually. Maybe not in your social circles?

'ie she could have been lying and no one would know or be any the wiser'. But she wasn't lying so what's your point?

'But I felt I didn't like her before they went in'. So what did you base your dislike on, seeing as she'd barely said a word at this point?

And regarding the callout centre quip, yes obviously you 'weren't being serious'. Just a bit of harmless fun using stereotypes. Get thee to the comedy circuit.

And leiselv. nobody called you a racist. However if the ventouse fits....

AitchTwoOh · 15/01/2007 14:30

are MN towers deleting this thread as it goes along? just looked to see if i had been one of the ones who apparently accused lieselvt of being a racist and the thread now only seems to go back til sunday night?

brandy7 · 15/01/2007 16:12

i think theyre should be a new one, this one got a bit bitchy

dotcotton · 15/01/2007 16:17

Maybe it's Shilpa's "people"!?

I think the thread reflects the programme, ie not very nice-natured but would Mnet towers really delete it? I'm new here but surely it's not that controversial?

brandy7 · 15/01/2007 16:28

does seem strange that most of it has been deleted, i hadnt read it all but if it was racist then ishould think mn had to delete it

AitchTwoOh · 15/01/2007 16:32

i don't think it was racist per se, definitely not. just a fair and frank exchange of views between people of opposing viewpoints.

ledodgy · 15/01/2007 16:43

I'm not sure if I posted on Saturday night or not so am none the wiser to what was said then. I do think that some people are assuming that people like me who do not like Shilpa think we are somehow supporting the bitchiness of the other lot. This is not the case. I don't like Shilpa, I can't stand Danielle, I don't mind jade, I haven't made my mind up about Jo and I like Cleo. Most people on this thread have provided a good humoured exchange of views however I think certain people are coming across as rather aggressive whether that is intentional or not so maybe it is time for a new thread.

JoolsToo · 15/01/2007 16:43

I've been posting here but if anyone on mn called another poster 'racist' it completely passed me by. Am I missing something, I find the bits I've read (I haven't read it all) quite restrained and a normal two sided debate?

for the record re the racist row. I haven't heard anything racist myself (I don't regard calling someone 'that Indian' racist) but I have heard vile, nasty, low and hurtful comments that have made me quite angry and I think there will be a lot of regret after this is all over from the likes of Cleo for not doing more and Jo for joining in. I don't think Jade and Danielle have it in them to regret what they've said because they think they are right.

AitchTwoOh · 15/01/2007 17:01

aah now see JT, that's where you and i differ. i'm perfectly happy to say that saying 'that indian' is racist behaviour.

i think that the ease that jackiey et al have shown with regard to mispronouncing her name, using foul language about her, bitching and bullying absolutely springs from the fact that she is from a background that they think is in some way inferior to their own.

plenty of people here have said things along the line of 'she's not racist, just ignorant/stupid/not thinking straight etc' but i genuinely don't see the delineation. if you are behaving in a racist manner because you are ignorant/stupid/not thinking straight, you are still behaving in a racist manner. the fact that they are ignorant and stupid is why they are racist. it doesn't excuse them, it merely explains them.

for the record i don't even think this thread has been bitchy. we're all very aware of what we're saying, racism is a sensitive issue, and i don't imagine anyone is going to retract a single thing said. but the world is a more dangerous place if we don't call racism when we see it.
