Eeeew i thought so but dh wasnt watching and i thought i might have misinterpreted, i couldn't believe even a simpleton like him would do that a) to his girlfriend and b) "on national telly". I can't even find him superficially cute now.

Oh no, what are they thinking?. She is definitely not the full shilling, it'll be a freakshow (and not even in a funny, car-crash kinda way like last year, just a freakshow). I won't switch off as sadly i have been drawn in and don't have much else to do of an evening. But i won't enjoy it!

And the bleaching thing is true cos I saw it on live feed - weird though that she walked around the house for 10 mins with the bleach on asking the other girls if they wanted some too

She came out of the bathroom with bleach over her face like a full father christmas beard and also put it on her nose

She said she had been shaved a while ago and then had IPA iirc {laser hair removal} and that she now bleaches her skin cos pale skinned indian women are seen as more attractive

She bleaches the top of her nose so it blends the skin colour in

It is weird cos she is unhappy about putting on her make up in view of others and going in diary room without makeup she wore her dark sunglasses until BB asked her to remove them and she shrieked that she didn't want to be seem without eyemake up - which is fine but why then walk around house with bleach covering your face

BTW she has had a nose job

if you look on indian women's websites you see amazingly frank discussion about shaving, threading, bleaching etc... it's quite the norm. i remember reading with astonishment a beautician's site that advocated bleaching the hair that you sometimes get on the foreheads of little baby girls!
and yes, that is so definitely a nose-job. in a way it's quite a good one, though, cos her nose still isn't that perfect, iykwim? it's a bit blobby still.

Oh I totally AGREE that bleaching the HAIR is normal

BUT she was talking about bleaching the SKIN so the skin was paler cos pale skinned women were seen as more beautiful

Surely bleach will have a dreadful effect on the skin long term?

No it was deffo bleach

you could tell by the way it dried and kind of cracked up iyswim

yeah, it was skin bleach, definitely. i don't think it's at all unusual, i think women just use them on their facial hair and on the nose to damp down any skin freckling etc.
i'm not asian, why do you ask?

Oh, I didn't realise there was such a thing as skin bleach.

The only face cosmetics in the hamster household are Simple soap and tweezers.

i have very dark hair and the usual downy type hair most of you have on your face that no one notices stands up very celary on me as i have quite plae skin.

I have to either thread or shave, especialy my top lip. i know manyt women that use bleach for their facial hair but it always turns too yellow for me. its not just asian women that do it.

Liesel my dear i am so glad someone else is watchig the ame show as me.

I have hated Shilpa from the moment Jackiey walked into the building. she is manipulative and very smug.
she has the "im so delicate pleae dont shout" face working to a T but all the time she is more than happy to be petty and spitefull

Errm yes it was. she was talkign down to her, as if she were too stupid to speak to on her level...thats patronising, not to mention rude.

I wanther out the vile witch. and i don't even think she's all that to look at

Bleaching the skin is common amongst Indian women, so are chemical peels and laser hair removal, and hormone injections(don't ask) etc etc.

Totally agree the skin is not going to age well, but it's done anyway.

My aunt once told me about a programme she watched (aunty lives in India), about the actresses, and how they do loads to their faces to look like they do, and then they cake on the make-up.

RTkanga, asian beauty websites are the place to go for info about home threading, that's why i was looking at them. i used to be a beauty journo.

so what do the Shilpa-haters think about everyone's behaviour towards her then? even if she is a witch (and she's not) they are still bullying her like a gang of vicious schoolgirls, imho.
