Corrie thread - How many more implausible plots until the new person takes over? NO SPOILERS PLEASE

Have started a new thread as the old one was nearly full and people wanted a "No spoilers" message in the title.

Are we placing too much hope in the new producer? How the hell are they going to get out of the plot holes?

I read the other day that the Les Battersby actor was seen at the studios. I am hoping that was a bad-taste April Fool's joke.

I think Sarah, Todd, David and Kylie are great in this storyline. It's a pity that it's about the aftermath of Callum's death, but it's being done well by the four of them, IMO.

Kirk and Norris, I would like to see them become friends and remain friends. I think the portrayal of Kirk as a complete idiot, at times is a bit OTT, but he and Norris could be funny together.

It's amazing how jobs on cruise ships magically become available. Anyway who would do the armfolding and eye rolls behind the bar, if Michelle did leave...

I have to say, I think corrie is better than its been in ages, as its centred around the ones who can act! Love David and kylie - gutted she is leaving.

I like the relationship that's growing between Kirk and Norris. Quite a lot of the men in Corrie don't seem to have a close male friend. I'm thinking particularly of Ken and David, both of whom have lived on the street all their lives, yet don't seem to have anyone outside their immediate families.

I've enjoyed some episodes lately, mostly because the people who actually can act have been centre stage.

Unfortunately, I see Tracy is about to have yet another storyline. Yawn.

Yes, I don't believe in that character at all, he's like a cartoon, but I like his new friendship with Norris.

Yes, the Norris - Kirk board game was great. Kirk is a good actor, I remember him playing Anthony 's mate in The Royle Family.

I agree. As I said upthread, I like the idea of him becoming friends with Norris. That could be a friendship that is good for both of them. Plus Corrie needs to be able to have threads of low key storylines, while bigger stuff is going on, in order to make it more credible as everyday life. Instead they tend to fill gaps with rubbish about biscuits, in the cab office. Or Dev trying on jackets...

I don't like the way they go completely OTT with Kirk's character. Someone can be naive or have an innocent manner, as he used to have. But of late, it's overdone to the point of being a parody of himself. Being convinced to stay over because of Norris cooking boiled eggs or whatever it was, is just silly stuff.

And while I am on a roll. How ridiculous did it look that Maria didn't invite Michelle in when she was sobbing at the door about it being over with Steve! Cost cutting? Easier and cheaper to film a scene with Maria just opening a door to nowhere...

The way Kirk is portrayed at times makes it really unlikely that someone like Beth would be with him.

Have read the most cringeworthy spoiler re Dev. Think I'll be watching between my fingers
