Corrie thread - How many more implausible plots until the new person takes over? NO SPOILERS PLEASE

Have started a new thread as the old one was nearly full and people wanted a "No spoilers" message in the title.

Are we placing too much hope in the new producer? How the hell are they going to get out of the plot holes?

I read the other day that the Les Battersby actor was seen at the studios. I am hoping that was a bad-taste April Fool's joke.

All the Corrie detectives are awful.

I thought the scene in the pub between Jason and David was really good though.

Yes, Gemma 's outfit was ludicrous. And how boring is that summerhouse story? They are making Sally into a silly pantomime dame. As if even Tim would put up with her rantings.

In the outdoor scenes Sally and Yasmeen's gardens are the wrong way round according to all the maps I have seen.

Gemma was Callum's friend.

I like Gemma. I liked her even more when she wore a mask of orange foundation with a tidemark around her ears and chin.

I like her too. There was an episode where she came to the Platts looking for Callum (he was under the floor) and David gave her money for a taxi iirc because he said 'we dont want you wandering the streets' she said 'I'll be quite safe' he said 'wasn't you I was thinking about'
That's when Corrie is good!

Did anyone read what the flowers said on Callum's coffin?
On one side was "Callum" but what did it say in the short side of the coffin, the end nearest the boot of the hearse? My dd swears it said "con" Nah, surely not??

It looked like CON to me, too. I was hoping to find an explanation here.

I've found the Jason/Eileen scenes believeable

I am woefully behind. I'm going to have to do a fast forward catch up. If I take out all the plot holes, crap acting and annoying characters the 2 and half weeks should take me about 10 minutes.

What was the outcome of Izzy's trial?

Awaiting courts report or something. Wonder if prison? Not much community payback she could do as seems be physical. Do wonder if they going anywhere with Jake and care or moving in with his nan

Not even ten minutes, Anne. I record it sometimes and, of late, delete without watching. I skipped the Izzy trial because I couldn't bear to watch the gurning she would no doubt do.
I thought Callum was one of the most rubbish characters, and that's saying something. And we are still enduring his death storyline. The only redeeming feature has been Paula Lane's excellent acting. Bruno Langley and Tina O'Brien are also playing their roles with great credibility.

Apart from that, it's same old, same old nonsense. Sally and Yasmeen competing to build the biggest structure in their gardens, and so on, yawn.

Izzy's trial was one of the most excruciating episodes of Corrie for a while. Hope they throw away the key .

There's was lots gurning and bad acting geep you did well to avoid. There was also no public in court? Would thought been interesting local paper story.

I missed one because of football something about vicar and Todd?

I'm hoping Izzy gets life.

I read today that Ian Kelsey is joining, who was Dave Glover in Emmerdale Farm and Howard in Doctors. On the Doctors thread we used to call him TBFE - The Bloke From Emmerdale.

He died in Emmerdale Farm and Doctors, so I expect he won't last too long in Corrie, but I really want to see him in scenes with Kim Tate! It will be like going back in time!

I remember him as Patrick in Casualty, some years ago.

Come to think of it, he died in Casualty, too!!

I remember him in Emmerdale. Have forgotten what kind of storylines he had, but I do remember the name Dave Glover well.
Hopefully Corris is going to recruit a few decent actors and actresses now.
