Corrie thread - How many more implausible plots until the new person takes over? NO SPOILERS PLEASE

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/04/2016 20:03

Have started a new thread as the old one was nearly full and people wanted a "No spoilers" message in the title.

Are we placing too much hope in the new producer? How the hell are they going to get out of the plot holes?

I read the other day that the Les Battersby actor was seen at the studios. I am hoping that was a bad-taste April Fool's joke.

I'm sure Sinead was Scout in WR? Hmm

KenDoddsDadsDog · 10/06/2016 07:07

Scout and Jodie , it was a nickname. I loved Waterloo road before it went shit !

MyBeloved · 10/06/2016 08:12

Ah yes, she was Scout/Jodie. She was good in that! Why is she so crap in Corrie?

katemiddletonsnudeheels · 10/06/2016 08:17

It must be the scripts, or directors. But I was embarrassed at her acting of embarrassed! There was no subtlety at all.

I'm finding Sarah ok - I don't like her scripts but she manages convincingly enough with what she's given, and Todd is really coming into his own. I like the fact that the bond between him and Sarah hasn't been forgotten about.

Steve, Amy and Tracy are turning into pantomime villains and I felt pissed off with both Steve and Michelle trying to fob poor Amy off onto Tracy. Yes, she nurdered Charlie. Yes, she was indirectly responsible for the deaths of Cal and Maddie and tried to murder Carla. Yes, she's a psychopath, but run back to mummy, pwincess!

southeastdweller · 11/06/2016 08:59

Next episode is tomorrow at 7.30.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 11/06/2016 16:40

Was there no Corrie last night!

BlackDoglet · 11/06/2016 19:55

No nugget, nothing last night. Schedules have changed due to football coverage. So, for this coming week:

Sunday 12th - 7:30pm for an hour
Monday 13th - 2 x half hour episodes at 7:30 and 8:30 (as normal)
Tuesday 14th - 8pm for an hour
Wednesday 15th - no episode
Friday 17th - no episodes
Sunday 19th - 7:30pm for an hour
Monday 20th - no episodes

After that, I guess it'll depend on how The home nations do at the footie!

NuggetofPurestGreen · 11/06/2016 21:50

Bloody sport! Shouldn't be allowed.

Rachel0Greep · 12/06/2016 09:47

As south mentioned, Corrie tonight at 7.30 for an hour.
Usual episodes on Monday.
Then Tuesday 8 to 9 pm.

That's it for the week then.

Clawdy · 12/06/2016 21:35

Tonight's was a bit cringey......tearful Billy, horrible Sean, annoying Amy, and that stupid scene with Tim throwing the bucket at Sally! Like a silly comedy scene from an eighties sitcom.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 12/06/2016 21:41

It was rubbish!!! Billy confessing love for Todd, as if. Cos you can't have two gay men who don't fancy each other. All the Tracy/Amy crap. Fastforwarded through all the Izzeh and Anna scenes so don't know what that was about. Painful. Tempted to stop watching again.

SerafinaScoresby · 12/06/2016 22:18

Amy goes missing and the first place they looked wasn't the bus stop over the road from the pub?? Steve runs down the ginnel to look for her, while Michelle runs around in the street and Tracey vanishes into thin air. Ace parenting.

MadHattersWineParty · 12/06/2016 22:19

Steve's dog is back!

Best bit.

JustDanceAddict · 13/06/2016 15:23

Agree re the gay thing, really lame.

Rachel0Greep · 13/06/2016 15:45

Most cringey of all for me, Nick's 'drunk' act. Hmm

Okay I didn't expect him to rival Phil Mitchell, or anything but seriously, he was pathetically bad at acting drunk.

cupidsgame · 13/06/2016 16:00

Corries just full of too many unlikeable people who we don't care about. I'm constantly having to mute the tv when they're on.

Olddear · 13/06/2016 17:18

That was a ridiculous scene in the restaurant with Nick and Robert. I'd to watch it through my fingers.

FiveShelties · 13/06/2016 18:12

I am so pleased I record this - the thought of ploughing through a full episode plus ad breaks whould be awful. I am going to give it one more week and if no improvement I am giving up!

southeastdweller · 13/06/2016 18:43

I'm not against seeing Todd in a relationship with Billy but there's been no build up to Billy having feelings for him. I'm trying to think of when there was a well/written gay character in Corrie but can't think of any.

SymphonyofShadows · 13/06/2016 20:05

Why does Todd care so much about Sean all of a sudden? He was a right little shite to him when he first came back, borrowing money and leading Sean to think he was interested.

Izzy's trial is awful, her lawyer used to play Steve, Hattie's boyfriend, in EE

cupidsgame · 13/06/2016 20:36

I couldn't watch Izzys trial, it was just too much.

youngestisapsycho · 13/06/2016 20:52

I was just coming on to ask who he was..... Sure he was in Eastenders.

scarlets · 13/06/2016 22:19

Billy and Sean are definitely unsuited, but his sudden love for Todd is unrealistic. There has been no build-up at all.

Olddear · 13/06/2016 22:49

That Vicar just turns up everywhere! Every time you turn around, there he is. And as for Izzy, what a stupid storyline! And she really is a terrible actress. Her that's playing the detective is equally as bad. Really awful at the moment.

Olddear · 14/06/2016 20:05

How ridiculous does Gemma look?
