I'm not familiar with the story, but the trailers for it look awesome.

I can't see anything with both Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston in, as well as Olivia Colman being bad, can you?

The DS seems very scared of Roper. He said he'd be in a lot of trouble if the phone went missing. I imagine the DS is just too scared to tell anyone, except Pine, that he lost his phone. I also think that's why Pine isn't worried about pressing him for info, he would be unlikely to tell Roper about it.

My theory on the hanged girl is that someone within Roper's organisation had done something bad to her (?rape). I wondered about Roper's mate who was with the nanny, he seems to be attracted to quite young women. The dad obviously blames Roper in some way or he wouldn't have taken the huge risk of talking to Olivia Colman.

Obviously it's a mistake to get rid of Corky - what brilliantly successful baddie would trade in their right-hand man, for some random unknown geezer just weeks after said geezee turns up?! Hollander is going to make them pay.

Loving all the sunny locations, especially sun-kissed Hiddleston. I thought I'd add a helpful contribution to the thread with this picture Grin

Pine seemed to recover his muscle mass (that stomach!) pretty quickly after being incapacitated for so long. He didn't get that physique with occasional jogs down the beach and dips in the pool.

CaveMum · 09/03/2016 10:34

Obs the reference to enjoying the rabbit was because Rex had said he didn't have time to talk as his wife was cooking rabbit for dinner.

The "visit uncle" was because he offered him a bribe - if you do what we say you'll get a nice payment which we'll put down to a wealthy Swiss uncle dying and leaving you his money.

Coming a close second to the luscious TH with his kit off, were those fantastic Spanish horses who made a brief appearance this week.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 09/03/2016 17:16

Can I quickly ask before I read it all - are there any spoilers on this thread from people who have read the novel?

MitzyLeFrouf · 09/03/2016 17:17

I haven't noticed any.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 09/03/2016 18:33

Thanks Mitzy

Frika · 09/03/2016 19:24

I'm betting there may well be significant changes to the screenplay, anyway. It certainly 'feels' very different to the novel - most of that was set on Roper's super yacht, from what I remember. Which admittedly isn't a lot.

lavenderhoney · 09/03/2016 19:33

Bibitty- no, not that I've noticed -lots of speculation.

I've read it and have made an effort not to spoil, and noticed others have too, who have read the book.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 09/03/2016 20:37

I've read the thread now thanks lavender! It is 99% lusting after TH Grin, I was hoping for some theories where I'm a bit lost in the plot. Reckon I'll have to watch again on i-player.

NeverEverAnythingEver · 09/03/2016 23:26

Frika Le Carre wrote about that, saying that it's too expensive to hire a giant yacht for the series. Grin

Obs2016 · 10/03/2016 06:43

Thank you caveman. I had missed the bit about his wife cooking rabbit and thought it was some sort of code word!

BossWitch · 10/03/2016 19:45

Corky is back in episode 4! There's a trailer kicking about online. He is not happy about being replaced by Pine! Excellent.

BossWitch · 10/03/2016 20:06

Oh and sadly the picure of the gorgeous tom hiddleston sunbathing upthread is a still from High Rise, not Night Manager. Still, let's hope for more half naked Hiddles at some point!

mercifulTehlu · 10/03/2016 22:06

Clothed Hiddleston is already pretty lovely.

BossWitch · 10/03/2016 22:41

Actually, I think I prefer suited Hiddleston naked Hiddleston. But any Hiddleston will do, really.

Oh my stars... Blush

NeverEverAnythingEver · 12/03/2016 21:14

LOL. I'm afraid I always find bare bottoms on screen slightly ridiculous ...

lavenderhoney · 12/03/2016 21:32

Personally I'd rather see Hugh Laure's bottom. I'm disappointed now

Bibbity, I read the book so I don't have any theories as such. More critique:)

shakeatailfeather · 12/03/2016 22:10

I shall steel myself to watch tomorrow Grin

I am really enjoying the programme as a whole, but cannot lie, Tom Hiddleston, clothed or not, is feckin lovely! Never liked him as Loki, but any other time - yes please!!

MitzyLeFrouf · 12/03/2016 22:12

I find naked bums on screen to be a bit comedic too NeverEver. There's something a bit Carry On about them.

FancyFancy · 12/03/2016 23:44

Excellent! Has made my weekend Grin

mercifulTehlu · 13/03/2016 08:20

Oh my goodness!
