Grin nick I can remember not being able to eat a whole walnut whip and I'd eat the top bit and cream, then save the thick base for later. It's uncanny how I can now eat two at once and still have room in my mouth for a chunk of Whole Nut Blush

I know kel it's highly frustrating not being able to squeeze Jamie AND Manu into my tight schedule; I'm hoping to be a bit more flaccid soon so I can have a giant catchup once my kitchen's sorted sometime in 2017 at the rate we're progressing Fortunately, the Two Ruperts, AT, Manu and Matthias plough through very, very slowly and I've had my hands and other working parts full lately

Nickel45 · 05/03/2016 20:47

Not eat a whole walnut whip ... Guess I should feel guilty for polishing off a whole box in one go then!?!

icemistOBE · 05/03/2016 20:58

Waiting on hubby with takeaway. So bloody excited for the filming in SA!!

Ooh loving the walnut whip talk. I too was a nuts first, then cream and then the base Grin
It's a hard life woof but it sounds like you are coping well with all the attention you and your kitchen is getting Smile
Ooh aspara the outlander books sound great, hope you enjoy them kelly and no flicking forward Grin
Quiet day here, swollen spotty tonsils so feel grim. Managed to get my mum a present and do some washing and that was as far as I got. Spent the rest of the day trying to stop mini mads pulling down the curtains and terrorising the dog! Shock
Hope all is well with the exchange student richtea
Amazing final chapter and epilogue rhub, I've really enjoyed this story Flowers

Nickel45 · 05/03/2016 21:35

Definitely nuts first, suck out the cream and chomp on the bottom Grin ooh, fancy one now!!

Yes, how's the German, ric? Did he enjoy the game?

rhu can't wait to read the final chapter, need the kids to go to sleep so I can read in one go though. I see kuia has updated too ... How can the kids still need to do so many things, an hour after they are supposed to be in bed?!

Hope you feel better soon mads, how's littlie doing?

Richtea19 · 05/03/2016 21:54

I can do all three Walnut whips in a go! The top in one bite, lick out the contents and then the base, job done!

All good here, the boys had fun at the Millwall game. They were at the family enclosure bit? DS did say he was a bit scared at one stage, bless him.

They are trampolining tomorrow. I think I'm getting out of that too as other DS is running a competition in Greenwich park which I will take him too. We have MIL coming tomorrow too!!!!!

I love the dangles and brains picture, I didn't recognise them though!

MaddieMoo82 · 05/03/2016 22:22

Ah thanks nickel he's spotty but back to his normal self Smile hope your littles have gone to sleep so you can have a rest!

Ilovelblue · 05/03/2016 22:25

Just seen Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall. Who was it who commented on his shoes? He didn't look the picture of sartorial elegance, did he? Neither did Bill Wyman for that matter. Had BA been invited, he would no doubt have worn his lovely diarrhoea coloured jacket!

pixieg1rl · 05/03/2016 23:37

Will you be thinking of dishing out the walnut whip treatment on Douglas Henshall nickel, you minx Wink? Watched the final episode this evening, good twist to it.

Poor you mads, hope you feel better soon. Enjoy your first Mother's Day tomorrow. I have dropped hints the size of house bricks for a lie in and breakfast in bed; we'll see what materialises - knowing DS it will be Star Wars related. Maybe a blow up Han Solo (a girl can dream Grin)

KellyHb · 05/03/2016 23:59

Couldn't get on the tablet tonight to post as DH was determined we watched the rest of a film we had on record and watched the last in the series of Take Me Out. Did you see it mads?

My Mum will have been spoiled this week as it was only her bday the other day and now Mothers Day. I don't mind as bizarrely I do like buying people presents. Round to hers tomorrow in the morning and then playing at her friends in the afternoon again.

I'm glad you've been enjoying the books apsara. Actually reading that you like them made my mind up to get them. I ordered Voyager (3rd book) don't know why really as it'll take me a while to get to that stage. Hmm

Hope you feel better soon mads and feel bit more rested for another working week.

pix fingers crossed for your lie in tomorrow. No chance I will as Ive got tons of washing to do! Confused

KellyHb · 06/03/2016 00:01

Haha meant DD will be playing at her friends, not my Mam will be playing!

apsara03 · 06/03/2016 07:05

Hope you all get spoilt today. DH has taken the boys downstairs do I can have lie in but I'm wide awake so have snuggled down with the outlander book and chill radio.

Ilovelblue · 06/03/2016 08:20

Morning all. Happy Mother's Day.

It's snowed again in the night.

Talking of presents Kelly, remember I had to sort something out for somebody on long term sick and undergoing cancer treatment? I noticed her on Facebook last night so messaged her to see if everything had arrived, only to discover her ex boss had taken full credit for everything! Was so cross, I had to put her right! He'd dumped the job on me last Tuesday!

moojangles · 06/03/2016 08:29

moojangles · 06/03/2016 08:29

Mums

Nickel45 · 06/03/2016 08:43

Happy Mother's Day everyone :)

Undortunatey my DH has only just got up, while the kids were up two hours ago!!! Not started too well, think I might treat myself to some walnut whips today!!

Rhubarb01 · 06/03/2016 09:46

Morning ladies - Happy Mother's Day everyone and a special first one to you Mads. It was Mother's Day shortly after my first was born and I remember everyone telling my DH not to forget whatever he did - well she was 15 last week and last night he had drag all three of them to the Supermarket to get something for me - bless him! They're not up yet, though - just me and the tetchy dog although he's a lot better now and currently violently attacking a toy rugby ball thing which he can fling about six feet in the air - not bad for a tiny terrier! He has hit almost everyone in the house with it at some point and the TV screen four times (still working!). I'm wondering if an insurance claim would be accepted if I claim he broke it when he probably does!

Walnut whips - have they got smaller or have I got bigger? I tend to think it's both as when I was small I couldn't manage a whole one but my mum loved them (M&S of course). Definitely a 70's luxury.

Thanks for the kind words on the story ladies, I appreciate them, honestly - not sure about FF writing though as I think I've developed the knack of writing the opposite of what I think most people want to read. ( Not the best approach). Most of the P&P stuff seems to be Regency set (big proportion of US readers) which is not my thing, really, so can't see myself trying anymore JA. It was an interesting exercise though.

In direct contrast I have read three chapters of a REAL actual book this morning!! Nothing too heavy but I'm wondering how it's going to go and would love to flick a bit ahead but I downloaded to my Kindle so it's too much hassle.

ice or anyone with OG intel - are we going to get details of the full cast at all? It looks as though it is happening, I was getting concerned it might not actually happen but if they've actually gone now - looks like it might gonna start filming!!

OK - I'm off to get dressed and have a lovely morning - doing the shopping in Tesco's before I cook everyone's lunch and - get out your violins - I'll probably end up having to do all the washing up afterwards! Real life eh! Have a good day whatever you're all doing!

Rhubarb01 · 06/03/2016 09:49

Just wondered how many times I can use the word 'actually' in one post and one sentence in particular and it's far too many! Note to self - read and edit!!

Dog has hit TV screen for fifth time! Might gonna chuck him outside with said Rugby ball!

Ilovelblue · 06/03/2016 10:31

Rhubarb I noticed on your reviews somebody querying a few words - I think pub was one - and I guessed said reviewer was American. I think that story and your 1950s CJ ones would adapt very well to TV with a few name changes. Have you looked into it? I seem to think you did at one time?

Sun out, snow melted...back out to more garden tidying. (Tea already made from Tesco's meat bargains).

MaddieMoo82 · 06/03/2016 10:37

Happy Mother's Day and happy SundaySmile

Same here nickel mr mads strolled down a couple hours after me and ds has got up.... Standard weekend behaviour Hmm can't complain to much he has brought me some nice Mother's Day tat.... Pen, mug etc and randomly some flip flops with ds and dogs picture on Shock might have to wait for it to warm up a bit before I wear them!! Thanks rhu and pix.

Still feel poop but looking to my mums legendary lamb roast later and will make a huge change from cooking!

Rhu I really enjoyed your story and prefer the modern JA FF. I am currently reading the new story from dance the tides author. It's a slow burn but very good.

yes kelly watched take me out. Got quite annoyed at the older guy who told his date that she was nice but he preferred slimmer women.... Rude. He wasn't exactly much to write home about either! Shock

ilove I hope you put your colleague in this place when you see him next!

Richtea19 · 06/03/2016 11:21

Happy Mother's Day to you all, I hope you get spoilt by your little ones. I got a card wth nice words! Prompted by DH but lovely nonetheless. Having a bacon sandwich in Greenwich Park over looking London, ta a spectacular view.

KellyHb · 06/03/2016 12:42

Happy Mother's Day! WineCakeFlowers

I spent this morning at my Mams giving her her cake I bought and a card. I gave her flowers yesterday but she's got cold now and she was hoping to have a meal out for her birthday so hopefully she'll be well enough this week.

I didn't get a lie in or breakfast in bed as the boys were causing chaos downstairs wanting theirs so I just got up. Never mind, maybe next year. I got a bottle of Prosecco and flowers and card which was nice even though I chose them myself when we all went to Asda yesterday

mads I couldn't believe that man saying that on Take Me Out especially the other bloke who said to the girl 'you've got hairy arms!!'

MaddieMoo82 · 06/03/2016 12:46

Oh god yes kelly I had forgotten about him!!!! Are you cracking open the prosecco later? Wine

pixieg1rl · 06/03/2016 13:43

Just read that Matthias Schoenaerts is in Cambridge doing a Q&A session this week. I wonder if the questions have to be about his acting? Hmm

Ilovelblue · 06/03/2016 14:37

I dare you pixie.

Kelly I know your Mum is under the weather at the moment but has she generally got over her intensive treatment last year?
