Granchester starts tomorrow Kelly

Nickel45 · 01/03/2016 15:07

Looking forward to Gramchester :)

Quick favour, which you can obviously ignore, but a friend of mine is doing a sponsored 54 mile hike in 24 hours mental, or what! in aid of ABF - the soldiers charity. If you fancy sponsoring her for a couple of quid, click here (if it works!). Hope no one minds me posting, just thought given it was for soldiers who wear combats, it'd fit in here!!!!

Nickel45 · 01/03/2016 15:08

Gramchester Grantchester!

apsara03 · 01/03/2016 16:42

pix, hope pixlet gets better soon. Me and the dog confined to one room of house, decorators in at the mo so house reeks of paint and the dog has wind! Waiting for plumber to come and seal the leak he was supposed to have sealed, so that said decorators can mend hole in ceiling!!!

Ilovelblue · 01/03/2016 18:36

Tell the truth ice, all your undercover intel means you're on that plane to South Africa to do some overseas reporting.....

Ilovelblue · 01/03/2016 18:37

Who has read Whajeb's latest chapter? It's ace and in my view, better than the original!

icemistOBE · 01/03/2016 18:56

I wish ilove

Totally agree about whajeb, latest chapter is amazing

Oh what a day.
The jollyness of paratrooper perving was cruelly cut short by a phonecall saying that DS has suddenly come down with a fever and funny breathing. Ran out of work (probably annoying eveyone including line manager as only been back 5 days) and managed to get emergency gp appt. he's very listless and feverish but apparently just viral. Having to pull him from nursery again tomorrow. Must be something in the air pix? Hope DS is on the mend.
Also slightly embarrassed that in my rush to leave work I left a bottle of expressed breast milk in the fridge....hope that no one on the night shift gets confused making their coffee at 3am Blush
whajebs writing is phenomenal!

Nickel45 · 01/03/2016 20:59

Oh mads so sorry littlie isn't well :( hope he's ok soon xx
(Milk in the fridge had me laughing out loud though!!!)

MaddieMoo82 · 01/03/2016 21:28

Thanks nickel
Very embarrassed about the milk! Could you imagine if the paratrooper is making his tea with it??!! Shock

Nickel45 · 01/03/2016 21:50

He'll never know :) xx

Ilovelblue · 01/03/2016 22:13

Oh Maddie, what a rotten return to work for you. How is he now? I did have to laugh about the breast milk though. We're always running out of milk at work (which the company provides) so it's highly likely anyone working nights would have used the bottle you'd left had you been in our office!

As for your paratrooper, is he retraining? How come he was in your department today? If he knew how fit he was, it sort of detracts a bit, doesn't it? The man who used to sit next to me was gorgeous (6'6") and a lovely personality too. Part of his attraction was that he really didn't know how lovely he was. Well, he probably did, but he never let it show.

KellyHb · 01/03/2016 22:37

Oh mads hope your DS is better soon. There's definitely more rounds of virus's going around now.

I remember the pic I saw ilove of the men you worked alongside. I remember one being very good looking. Had a lovely smile Smile

Cheers pix Grantchester for the series link! How's your DS now?

DD had a late hospital appt today so we didn't get back in until late so we ended up getting tea from the fish shop.

I spoke to a lovely Aunt of mine this evening which has made me happy. I mentioned ages ago she was needing to have dialysis as her kidneys aren't working so she's been very ill this year, having to have a few hospital stays and she lives away so I havent been able to speak to her for ages. Had a lovely chat tonight and she seems to be doing better. Its made me quite happy anyway.

Any news on OG2 read through pics ice?

Ilovelblue · 01/03/2016 22:49

He had a lovely everything Kelly, not just his smile!

Good news about your aunt. There's not enough good news around at the moment.

I got lumbered with a get well present at work today. I don't really mind but the guy who dumped it on me did it so skilfully that I didn't realise I'd been had! The lady in question is on long term sick and undergoing chemotherapy. The idiot was just going to send her the money they'd collected. She's not even in my own department. In the end, I've organised a reed diffuser and a scented candle. I'm sure I've heard that anyone undergoing such treatment has to be careful with scented shower gels and creams, so I thought a candle and room diffuser were suitable alternatives. At least it gave me the right to surf the internet in works' time!

MaddieMoo82 · 01/03/2016 23:08

Thanks ilove he's just very restless and hot Sad asleep at the mo, so fingers crossed.
Not sure the ins and outs of mr perfects visit but not complaining! He was very confident of himself and made me feel a little nervous. The department males were prowling mentioning words like 'cocksure' so I think there was some insecurity in the air Grin
Awww kelly remember you saying about your aunt, glad she is doing better and hope DD is ok xx

Richtea19 · 01/03/2016 23:14

Oh maddie big hugs to you, everything crossed that little one feels better. So worrying for you.

apsara03 · 02/03/2016 06:43

Hope all the littlies are on the mend - it's no fun and what a nightmare during your first week back maddie. Lol about the expressed milk in the fridge. Very impressed though. I still fed when I went back but just when I was with them. Though given how long it took me to express I wouldn't have had time. I do remember DS1 refusing formula when I went back. He was 10 months - luckily he didn't he didn't over feed at night but a long one in the morning. I fed him more on the days I had off then discovered by chance (i can't remember how) that he would drink warned cows milk from a cup so he had that at nursery I know they are not meant to have it till a year but it was once a day and not every day and as someone said cows milk was better than no milk

pixieg1rl · 02/03/2016 07:15

Hope you made it through the night Mads. It's horrible when they are all hot and miserable. I hope your milk survived the night shift too.

Ilovelblue · 02/03/2016 07:25

Morning all. How are things today Maddie and pixie?

Sleeting here. Snow is forecast for later but then it's supposed to turn to rain again.

Onlygirljen · 02/03/2016 07:54

Hope the littlies are ok mads and pix. Sounds like the same sick bug going through all the kids. My youngest is fine but eldest was sent home yesterday with it, has been sick all night and has a raging temp Sad. Working from home for me today!!

Hope nobody in your work had a breast milk coffee last night mads..

icemistOBE · 02/03/2016 08:04

Morning. Off with 2yo to dr - has a rash (done glass test several times) think it's just a viral one as he's not seeming ill at all. But if I don't get it checked nursery will only ring me to get it checked/ pick him up.

6 yo has refused to do part of his homework " my toys don't need to dress up" - had to design a costume for a favourite toy and bring them to class today.

And he's refusing to dress up for World Book Day too Confused

I need to stop messing around and set off for work. We've had rain, hail, sleet and snow in the last 30 mins and there's been an accident on the motorway which means all the local roads will be extra busy too.

cjwoofwoof · 02/03/2016 09:19

Fair play to your DS ice I like a child with a rebellious streak when it comes to conforming to dressing up days and bloody homework for a 6 year old. Hardly GCSEs is it? Freedom of expression I'd call it so well done him.

Hope all the small fries are feeling better today. Luckily the only malaise here at the moment is love sickness and hickies which need explaining to a younger brother. Although the same youngest DS came home yesterday with a new rhyme: Jack and Jill went up the hill so Jack could lick Jill's candy, But he got a shock and a mouthful of c**k, coz Jill's real name was Randy. Aah yes, the joys of secondary school education Shock Confused Blush
