Just checked IMDB & he's down as being in 2 episodes as DS Ben Grady

Nickel45 · 22/02/2016 13:31

Hi 4, some of us watched it, he's in ep 2 and 3 too (briefly!), lovely to see him in something else, isn't it although I'm afraid nothing could top BA in combats, for me. Thank you for posting though, were/are you a big OG fan too?

cjwoofwoof · 22/02/2016 13:57

Nice to be back. Glad MrJens job is safe and hope ilove is enjoying the kale juice.

Currently got the Two Ruperts in to plaster my joists very thoroughly and it's all been very messy so far not that I'm complaining Grin

[waves] to Forks thanks for the heads up re LM. It's a pile of poo and BA is long dead unfortunately. Didn't quite do it for me either without the combats nick

Saw Night Manager last night, have to say TH is not a bad consolation til OG2 starts and I can get further helpings of posh boy. He went to Eton according to my DS.

Nickel45 · 22/02/2016 14:26

woof, there was me being all subtle and not giving the demise of BA away!!!!!

Recorded NM to watch when the littlies are not likely to disturb me or sometime in the next few days, whichever is earlier!

cjwoofwoof · 22/02/2016 14:34

Well, don't want forks wasting any more time on LM than is necessary nick and getting the same nightmares as me about JNs unruly eyebrows. They should have their own series as they act everyone else off the stage every week!

You do right to record NM, it does require some decent uninterrupted concentration on THs quiff

Nickel45 · 22/02/2016 14:38

Very true woof!!
jNs eyebrows are insane, aren't they! Did I read somewhere that he had a syrup too? Or did I just imagine that in my nightmares??
Getting to quite like DH in Shetland and much more my age, like that makes a difference! Grin

cjwoofwoof · 22/02/2016 15:50

Yes JN does wear a rug I've read, either that or he combs over his eyebrows to bush up his pate a bit Grin God knows there's plenty of eyebrow to go round.

Hmm, don't think I could go much on DH, reminds me of Boris Becker too much. Blond eyelashes definitely a no-no I'm afraid. Other than that proviso, I'm finding in my hormonal mid life crisis state, I'd go for anything in trousers at the moment, with the exception of Gary Lineker and David Dimbleby...I'm not THAT hormonal Confused

pixieg1rl · 22/02/2016 16:03

DH? Is that David Hasselhoff? If so you might want to up your HRT woof Grin

Nickel45 · 22/02/2016 16:12

Douglas Henshall, not really fanciable (I couldn't find any pics to post that were in the slightest fanciable!) but I just like him .... I must be reaching that age!

MaddieMoo82 · 22/02/2016 16:22

Afternoon all.

David hasselhoff?! pix you made me laugh with that!!
I haven't watched lm since episode 3, feel slightly bad but was only watching it for BA and james n wasn't really cutting it for me...
Will watch the night manager later in the week, googled TH and not sure he's my cup of tea either really Confused

pixieg1rl · 22/02/2016 16:33

Snug. Grin

MaddieMoo82 · 22/02/2016 16:51

He seems more 'defined' in this one...

moojangles · 22/02/2016 17:00

Brain bleach!!!

Rhubarb01 · 22/02/2016 18:03

Evening! Good news that the charabanc to SA is leaving in a few more days ice. I was getting a little bit worried that it might never depart.

I watched The Night Manager and quite enjoyed it. It kept my interest and I followed it - which is always a good sign. I don't mind Tom Hiddleston. I think he's got an intense, angsty type of face which is not unpleasant to look at. Olivia Colman is always good although I found it strange seeing Tom Hollander in it as well (got to distinguish between the TH's) as I always expect him to be bumbling about as he does in Rev. I didn't realise he was quite so short either!

As for David Hasselhoff - absolutely massive in Germany in the 1980's where they enjoy a peculiar brand of kitsch pop into which he fitted perfectly. Are you sure you weren't amongst the groupies on 'Hitparade' woof? It was possibly a stop-off en route to the East German gymnastics camp in East Berlin! I was tempted to post a video link but it really is just too awful and I couldn't do it!

cjwoofwoof · 22/02/2016 18:24

Make that Gary Lineker, David Dimbleby AND David Hasselhoff. The only curly perm I've ever had a crush on was Kevin Keegan when he played for 'Amburg c1980.

I do remember having to drag orph away from the Hitparade en route to east Berlin Rhu when she mistakenly thought David Hasselhoff was Bono's hairdresser and could introduce her to Slash. She was always partial to a good hat in those days...or was it a good helmet? Oh well, it was one or the other Grin

Ilovelblue · 22/02/2016 19:10

Evening all. Back from our spa weekend. Not the very best I've been to but by no means the worst, just middle of the road. The hotel belonged to the De Vere group and they sold it and I'm not convinced the new owners have really got their act together. There definitely didn't seem to be much co-ordination between the hotel and spa staff and last night's meal was somewhat Fawlty-esque. The food was great but the service was short of the mark. The treatments today were lovely though and I've been body brushed, wrapped, massaged and moisturised. No CJ lookalikes ladies, sorry, but thankfully no Turkish men hiding their manhood under a sarong either!

I'm going to catch up on the Night Manager later if I don't fall asleep and also want to watch the Royal Navy School as well.

Good news about those in 2 Section who are going to South Africa. At last we can feel confident that something is really going to happen.

Ilovelblue · 22/02/2016 19:11

PS: the highlight of Sunday afternoon was seeing Willliam Roache (aka Ken Barlow from Coronation Street) walking down the main street in Knutsford!

Nickel45 · 22/02/2016 19:50

Is there confirmation about the rest of 2 section?

Nickel45 · 22/02/2016 19:50

Glad you had a fab non-traumatic time ilove xx

Ilovelblue · 22/02/2016 19:53

The only trauma was when I had to wear a pair of paper knickers this morning. Not that I wasn't expecting it but they were miniscule, so tiny I could hardly work out which was the front and which was the back!

Alwaysfrank · 22/02/2016 20:05

Hello all - just checking back in after a rather longer absence than intended!

Jen - so glad the redundancy threat passed and hope your dh can find something better on his own terms.

Rhu - I think it was you about 10 pages back who mentioned the music from 30 years ago sounding still relatively up to date. I had been having exactly those thoughts having hear "Rio" twice on consecutive days on the radio, and a good 33/34 years old. Going back 34 years from there you are in the 1940s when things sounded quite different!

Kel - sympathies again with your twin trials. I still remember the day I took mine out in reins and they literally ran rings round me and nearly tripped me up! They also did a great line in climbing out of the buggy from a very young age.

And Rich my almost 16 year old still tries to regularly trip up his brothers- drives me crackers. I sometimes think I'm the only one with children old enough to know better who still don't behave but obviously not Hmm. They can turn on the charm and impeccable behaviour when it suits them though- I should be grateful for that I suppose.

Very excited to hear filming starts soon - when will we finally be put out of our misery about the rest of the cast?

Rhubarb01 · 22/02/2016 21:49

Hi always yes it was me about the 80's music. It's amazing how much of it is still regularly played. I think it was Deutschland 83 that got me thinking about it combined with the Virgin ad on TV.

Funny you mention twins and reins. I remember buying a set of twins reins after seeing a mum at my twins group use them - thinking what a great idea as you clipped each of the reins to a free running ring on a belt that you wore round your waist so that you could keep them both under control and be hands free. Ho hum! Try persuading a pair of 18 month old toddlers that they both want to walk in the same direction. I can remember standing on the pavement with the equivalent of two dogs one of which had plumped itself down and refused to move whilst the other is straining at the leash to run off. The best that can be said is that no one went anywhere and I was piggy in the middle. They didn't get used much after that (overpriced too) and I gave them to another mum in the end.

Ilovelblue · 22/02/2016 22:21

There's a hilarious thread on MN at the moment "Things that annoy you about other people's housekeeping". It's kept me amused for over at hour.

Richtea19 · 22/02/2016 22:32

Those DH photos might give me nightmares, or make me grind my teeth even more!!

Glad you had a good spa break, the last one I went on we stopped at the petrol station on the way home and bought massive amounts of chocolate! I hate being told what I can't eat!

Great news re OG cast, it's getting rather exciting now, hopefully snippets of info will start coming out, Mk and her blog I expect.

rhu yes it's my DS that is sporty. He got into the mini marathon, just about! Our calendar organiser is full of the boys sporting activities and where we need to be. So good luck with all your new sporting adventures!

MaddieMoo82 · 22/02/2016 22:34

Blimey ilove I have just read the first page Shock glad you had nice time at the spa sounds very relaxing.
