Oh Richtea CJ was a nervous wreck after the kilt measuring in Edinburgh! He took a lot of calming down after that. Mind you, he enjoyed all the attention as we walked down Princes Street afterwards and lots of little Japanese ladies wanted his photo.

Morning! Dp obvs missed my note requesting an unsmocked Matthias delivered straight to my bed but maybe he'll be waiting in the hotel in Italy? I've read through the phrasebook and it has handy phrases like let's go to bed and a rather more officious touch me here but perhaps what do you recommend? could come in handy.

Anyway, have a great day/halfterm everyone and keep your eyes peeled for any news reports of middle aged tourist arrested for salami offence.

nickel with you mentioning breakfast in bed, I don't think I've ever been given that unfortunately. I might gave to drop DH some hints but it probably wouldn't have effect.

I haven't watched FFTMC yet but I do have it on DVD too. The trouble is with having seen Outlander and their romantic/hot and heavy scenes, anything else wouldn't match up but Matthias sounds like he could give Jamie Fraser a run for his money though.

mads yes I did watch Take Me Out. I love that programme and Paddy McGuinness is great on it. Was the third man the farmer type one or the dentists one? I can't remember now. Sorry. Some of these men that come out, you wonder how they can't find someone unless they're not very nice people underneath. You very rarely get a love match these days on the show.

Oo smocking. Whenever I go shopping with my Mam she's always looking for tops with smocking on for DD.

ilove my dentists is a NHS one but whenever certain work is needed, any dentists I've known generally bandy the word 'private' around. I joined that one only the other week. Fingers crossed I won't have to go down the expensive route.

Morning from a very frosty Lancashire. Just about to do some more compost digging/spreading. Off to a snowdrop walk in the grounds of a ruined old hall this afternoon.

Lovely sunny day in Essex. DH rang today, yay, my Mummy is spoiling me and birthday with DH rearranged for next weekend.

Hi, re big eyebrows on Irishmen. My Irish rellies came from the very South of Eire.All the men have black thornbushes instead of eyebrows by the time they get to middle age.

My granny's theory was that it was a throwback to all the extracurricular activities between Irish lasses getting overly friendly with the sailors from the Spanish Armada which passed around the Irish coast on their way to fight Elizabeth 1's navy.

Quite a few light skinned blue eyed Maori in areas of NZ where Captain Cook let his sailors off for a spot of r'n'r in the late 1700's.

Some things never change. I think Molly and Bossman were very circumspect compared with those randy Spaniard and English sailors and the obliging Colleens and Rangis.

Just discovered Jen's one shot over on the Dark Side. Utterly brilliant, don't think it's smut at all, very beautiful love story.

Must get to bed, school in the morning. Temperature here 31C and it's just before midnight. Very sticky and humid

Got 3 episodes left of outlander, then I think I'm going to be bereft. When is series 2 airing and is it on Amazon prime?
Need some other box sets to keep me going. Haven't watched FFTMC so will add that to list.

New series airs in USA on 9 April; it was on Amazon Prime for 1st series, I don't know what it will be for s2.

Just reading about the earthquake on BBC. It seems it was in Christchurch and they report no serious damage or injured as far as known but some cliffs have collapsed into the sea. Fingers crossed everything's OK Kuia.

I'm afraid I have to agree on the P&P version with Keira Knightley pix. I can just about put up with MM as Darcy but I don't like KK in it. My favourite Elizabeth was played by Elizabeth Garvie in an early 1980's version on the BBC. She had a very expressive face and eyes and always seemed quite mischievous. I think Jennifer Ehle was very good but I'd seen the earlier version and always liked the first actress best. I think that ran for about 12 episodes or so but was quite studio based and would seem a bit stiff by today's standards. I'd probably pick Colin Firth as the best Darcy but I quite liked David Rintoul from the early one although he was very serious in it and tall!

I'be read the plot synopsis on line so I'm prepared. I remember hanging on for a while for the last episode of homeland 3 (I think) as I couldn't face the thought of Brodie dying. The first outlander book is on its way in the post so at least I can read it. Just means my reading for book club will go out the window. It's usually fanfic which distracts me. Loving all the new updates btw. Just as well as it's half term, just means all the jobs I supposed to get done won't get done. Hey ho

Got quite a lot done in the garden this morning so am pleased it's looking reasonably tidy. Just two of the biggest beds to tackle next Saturday if the weather holds. I'm going to a spa hotel overnight next Sunday so will need to get myself sorted for that as well.

The snowdrop walk was lovely but really cold (the wind blows straight in from the coast). There were even more snowdrops than last year and the sunlight was perfect for taking photos.

pixie are you near Anglesey Abbey? That's supposed to be one of the best snowdrop walks.
