Eurgh, the blue is awful and the lights are terrible!

GrouchyKiwi · 02/02/2016 19:52

I'm not sure I like Frankie's room. It's very relaxing but at the same time the fabrics clash too much and that would upset me.

PurpleDaisies · 02/02/2016 19:53

So who's going?!

Floowho · 02/02/2016 19:55

My dcs have become interior design experts after just two days of this show.

CremeEggThief · 02/02/2016 19:56

Holly

CremeEggThief · 02/02/2016 19:56

Ooh, Sharon!

PurpleDaisies · 02/02/2016 19:56

I'm surprised-I thought holly too.

SingSongSlummy · 02/02/2016 19:57

Oh no, I thought Holly should go!

FelicityLemon · 02/02/2016 19:58

So Sharon has gone, not really surprising she seemed to really struggle.

GrouchyKiwi · 02/02/2016 20:02

Oh dear. A castle next time.

I'm surprised Holly got through after ignoring the clients like that, but I do think her room looked nice. I'm also surprised that particular blue is "modern" because my brothers' bedroom was painted that colour in the late 80s. Wink

Floowho · 02/02/2016 20:05

We call it Tardis Blue here.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 02/02/2016 20:07

Oooh - there's a thread!

I caught most of yesterday's episode, and all of today's - I'm enjoying it, although Holly really annoyed me today - and I don't see how she can get through after railroading/ignoring her clients' wishes! I am glad she didn't get to use the adhesive hooks - if I were the homeowner, I would have been appalled at those, in my lovely, old room!

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 02/02/2016 20:15

SingSong you've got me invested now because I absolutely have to know how you react to the end result. So often the homeowners seem to be overly polite whilst making mental lists for B&Q (insert store of choice) emergency shopping in the morning.

I was sure Holly would go, she was like a teenager determined to spend someone else's money to fulfil her own brief, not the clients'. The room didn't look at all sophisticated to me and I think she bullied the homeowners.

I wasn't mad keen on Frankie's but at least he did try to please the people who live there.

The upcycled logs were all awful and out of place.

Cocolepew · 02/02/2016 20:33

Holly is acting like spoilt brat. Wanting her way only with the home owners and then walking off over the hooks.
You just know when the light fell her builder was thinking"told you so" Grin
I think Sharon went because she bought so many accessories instead of making more.

Floowho · 02/02/2016 20:46

I would love to know what the judges would have done with up cycled logs off to check that out on Pinterest

Cocolepew · 02/02/2016 21:01

I wouldn't have a clue about the upcycling tasks. I was thinking tonight I'd be looking on Pinterest too Smile

After a bit I thought it would have been good if Sharon had painted the logs black and used them as some kind of light fitting.

To be fair to her it sounds quite difficult to completely reinvent lighting without being able to drill any more holes...

OhShutUpThomas · 02/02/2016 21:54

Can't believe that, I was sure Holly was going.
She was pretty arrogant tonight, I'd be pissed off if I were the homeowners.

I thought Frankie's room was BEAUTIFUL, and exactly what they asked for - not just an exercise in vanity for him.

annandale · 02/02/2016 21:58

I agree about Frankie's room, I loved the colours, and i thought his use of the 'old-fashioned' fabric made it look unusual while being economical. It was like rediscovering an old pattern - probably will be cutting edge in six months. Much better than Holly's industrial stuff which was all the rage during the last series 2 years ago, and which doesn't fit that well with her cute streak.

TBH I kind of wish Hollie's homeowners had just let her do the dogs. Maybe it would have worked but it looked like a car crash waiting to happen.

Davros · 03/02/2016 10:25

Just caught up. I can't believe Holly didn't go. Her tween's room on Monday was AWFUL. DD (nearly 13) would have hated it. I thought the blue walls worked surprisingly well but the rest ?.......

As annoying as Hollie is, I think the right person went. Sharon managed to make what is probably a very expensive home look really cheap. I liked the rug in her room and the layout but it didn't work for me.

Davros · 03/02/2016 13:20

Agreed, it did look cheap and, as she apparently bought furniture from the budget, it must have been cheap

I don't think any of them are very good this series but I love the show. Can't wait to try and guess who singsong is!

CremeEggThief · 03/02/2016 14:38

Is it back on Monday and Tuesday next week?
