Couldn't be anyone else since she failed the brief.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 08/02/2016 20:08

Again very underwhelmed! None of them had the wow factor.

catwithflowers · 08/02/2016 20:41

I thought they were all poor tonight. No one stood out as being especially creative or having any sense of style. I didn't like any of the designers' own homes either which is rather telling. So much clutter and tatt Confused

Cocolepew · 08/02/2016 20:53

All the bloke did was make things Confused

cosmicglittergirl · 09/02/2016 08:47

I loved that wallpaper!

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 09/02/2016 09:28

No offence to the contestants but where on earth did the bbc find them? Wallpaper woman said "my room is a triumph" Eh? You found a nice wallpaper and a couple of throws Confused I want to see really talented, creative folk battle to the death!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 09/02/2016 11:54

I really don't like all the white bedrooms - I much prefer colours in a bedroom - white is too cold and clinical. I didn't like that flowery wallpaper, but at least it was cosier than the white rooms. I'd still have been in there with a gallon or two of paint, before the camera crew had uplugged their equipment, though.

I was appalled at BeardyHipster's book-light - destruction of books is a crime, imo. Making a light out of something that would otherwise be thrown away is fair enough, but don't vandalise books.

I was most appalled by the milk crate stool, though - that would be straight in the bin.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 09/02/2016 12:15

Beardy had such a good brief 'boho adventure' and his room was so plain and sparse. I know they are amatures but still. The girl who did the boutique bedroom really missed an opportunity too. Maybe they will do better tonight.

absolutelynotfabulous · 09/02/2016 13:46

I agree about Beardy. He just assembled some bits against a dull, uninspiring backdrop.

All the crate upcycles were awful, imho. Mjnd, you, I'd probably have made it into a wine rack or something equally naff..

I'm glad Sarah went. Didn't follow the brief, didn't listen to the customer. She had the opportunity when her wallpaper ran out to revise but didn't, so...a well deserved kicking out.

Hope she takes something from the experience.

cosmicglittergirl · 09/02/2016 15:37

Beardy had to keep the walls white I think? However, he could've definitely incorporated more colour. Like I've said, I liked the flowery wallpaper, but the owner clearly didn't. In a larger room going 3/4 of the way up the wall would show it off well. I liked the little turquoise shelf she did though.
Boutique woman used the space well, but it was too boring. Hated the teenage room apart from the black floor, but he liked it so fair enough.
I agree with the pp who said a grand isn't really very much to do over a whole room. Double it I reckon. Frankie is my face so far.

Davros · 09/02/2016 18:39

He's my face too Grin

(5 minutes behind today.)

Lucy's room is beautiful. Hope she can do it justice.

GrouchyKiwi · 09/02/2016 19:16

Rob's board is very sparse. EVERYTHING blue is far too much.

Just discovered the peeved owl. It's very cute.

GrouchyKiwi · 09/02/2016 19:17

Haha. I like his clients. They are funny.

(Sorry, I sometimes pretend these threads are like Twitter and over-comment.)

SingSongSlummy · 09/02/2016 19:18

Peeved owl looks fun! Lucy's design looked gorgeous (apart from checkerboard floor!)

IonaMumsnet · 09/02/2016 19:18

Lucy is overstretching herself...

GrouchyKiwi · 09/02/2016 19:24

Angelica's scheme is boring yet again and I think she said "pacific" when she wasn't talking about blue.

The homeowners are far too nice. I want someone to say "I hate it. Start again."

FelicityLemon · 09/02/2016 19:24

Textured wallpaper? Shock

FelicityLemon · 09/02/2016 19:25

Which will go nicely with the blue floral flock. Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 09/02/2016 19:29

We're about to decorate our white white white house and I keep hoping for some great inspiration from this show. Nothing yet.

SingSongSlummy · 09/02/2016 19:29

'tis very difficult as a homeowner to say 'that looks awful' at the beginning

GrouchyKiwi · 09/02/2016 19:32

I can imagine, Slummy. I think DH feels the same way when I slop patches of colour on the walls trying to find one I like. He just throws up his hands and leaves me to it. Grin

Oh holy crap, that wallpaper test. Shock

IonaMumsnet · 09/02/2016 19:38

Rob and his homeowners...
