That wood wallpaper is hideous.

CremeEggThief · 24/02/2016 19:41

Thank goodness for that. Wallpaper as a kitchen splashback?Hmm Anne's builder is a bit of alright isn't he?Smile

GrouchyKiwi · 24/02/2016 19:41

I've gone right off Anne now. Having a baby is much tougher than that! Nothing to do with being 28 weeks pregnant and pretty much unable to walk.

Those cupboards are badly painted.

dillite · 24/02/2016 19:41

Won't those cupboards stick together?

SingSongSlummy · 24/02/2016 19:43

CremeEgg yy to Anne's builder. We had him too and he was lovely!

CremeEggThief · 24/02/2016 19:45

Envy SingSong, but glad to hear his personality is lovely too.

GrouchyKiwi · 24/02/2016 19:45

It's great having an insider, Slummy.

SingSongSlummy · 24/02/2016 19:47

Oops,I meant Tally's builder Blush

dillite · 24/02/2016 19:47

The lovely builder must have been used as a distraction for the terrible design.

Absolutely hate the grey and cream kitchen.

GrouchyKiwi · 24/02/2016 19:47

Tom's jumper looks like it has paint splats on it.

Annarose2014 · 24/02/2016 19:47

WTF with that green hairy rug??

Really dislike those grey cupboards.

dillite · 24/02/2016 19:50

Leaving knives unattended like that when revealing the new kitchen? That's brave.

dillite · 24/02/2016 19:51

Whitewashed plywood looks terrible.

GrouchyKiwi · 24/02/2016 19:52

The dog is going to defecate on that green rug in Tali's room.

TheSpottedZebra · 24/02/2016 19:53

Are those cushion covers washable? You'd want them to be in a kitchen.

GrouchyKiwi · 24/02/2016 19:53

Those cushions look so ineptly made in Anne's room.

I hate both kitchens.

dillite · 24/02/2016 19:55

I preferred Tali's kitchen to Anne's.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 24/02/2016 20:08

I liked Tali's kitchen, in the before stakes, but what she did was not French country style. And the dog is going to use the grass rug as an indoor loo, as soon as she has finished savaging the soft furnishings.

Ann's did look better afterwards, but the wood wallpaper did not go with the orange varnished real wood it was next to.

We moved into a bungalo in 1972, that had pine board effect wallpaper in the lounge and dining room (on one feature wall in each) - it looked dire even then, judged by 70's 'taste'. Sadly my parents loved it and kept it. It was still there when mum sold the house last year.

Worse, though, was the mock tiger skin wall paper in the hall (another feature wall). Mum loved that too, and it stayed until last year too. I suspect the new owners were in there with the wallpaper stripper before the removal van left the village.

CremeEggThief · 24/02/2016 20:24

I do like Tali's kitchen/diner, apart from the cream walls. I agree the sofa and rug won't last long.

Not so keen on Anne's. I hate the wallpaper, although I like the whitewashed cupboards. Her faffing really annoyed me in today's episode.

absolutelynotfabulous · 24/02/2016 20:28

I agree with the judges that Tali's kitchen was not adventurous enough. And grey and cream- just NO! It just wasn't "farmhousey" enough; yet French Farmhouse must be one of the easier looks to do.

I agree she should have gone tonight; I reckon she's reached her limit.

CremeEggThief · 24/02/2016 20:32

I would have preferred Tali to go through tonight, but I still think none of them measure up to Frankie.

ppeatfruit · 24/02/2016 21:15

Well I live in a fr. country kitchen and Tali's looked better BEFORE she'd painted it grey and added a fake grass carpet, what's that about? The dog wil love to pee on it and her bed (no I liked the dog bed) Grin.

Did any one else notice that Anne sees herself as Kate Bush Grin Hence the 'hair' I won't call it a style Grin. Her kitchen was more Fr. country style, her cupboards were fine and an improvement , why would you leave the window frame dark brown though? I screamed when she showed the client the wood effect wallpaper. It looked effing awful. Anne has some sense not having a stupid splash back.

Though neither were brilliant on their own,one of the judges said they'd be better squashed together Grin

Pigeonpost · 24/02/2016 21:36

I like Anne's room and she is really growing on me. I have wallpaper by the same artist as her lino cut squirrels and I loves it. No wood effect paper though. Tally deserved to go. She grated on me (no herb holder pun intended....).

Davros · 24/02/2016 21:53

I didn't like Tali's work on any project but I really liked her.

lalalonglegs · 24/02/2016 22:16

I didn't like Tali and I didn't like her kitchen - it was a really big room and there didn't seem to be room for a real table, just this "movable island" which was (a) ugly and inept (b) seemed to accommodate only two stools (c) was boxed in on one side by the sofa. It was no way a French country style and the peacock wallpaper was naff. Her first room was decidedly meh and she only got through yesterday because the bloke made such an almighty hash of his room

ppeat - I loved Ann's Wuthering Heights moment Smile.
