Which children's TV Series did you remember from your childhood?

I came across a book I bought as a child The December Rose. I loved the series. Around that time I recall it was quite standard for the BBC to produce a brilliant series for children.

Ones I can recall (though not sure if they were all bbc) are:

December Rose (obviously!)
Moondial
Box of Delights
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrode

There were more I'm sure can anyone remember other ones (obviously different ages will have different memories!). More impressively can anyone recall what day they were broadcast on?

Moondial was weekday, during children's tv hours I think, and Box of Delights on Sunday evening?

Going round the twist
The queens nose
Tracey beaker

Younger:-
Play days
Rosie and Jim
Rugrats

I'm sure there's plenty more but i can't think at the moment

Oh yes the Round the Twist (that was Austrailan wasn't it?), loved it. I actually watched The Demon Headmaster as a student - at the time it was the 'thing' where I was for students to watch Teletuddies (?), I was evidently more high brown with The Demon Headmaster Smile .

Oh I loved Box of Delights! And Heidi and Tom Sawyer. Plus Ulysses and Cities of Gold amongst the cartoons.

I always remember a drama about a girl who met a travelling family and discovered they had discovered a secret elixir which gave them eternal life... they offered it to her but she said no. Anyone remember that?

Does anyone remember Tales from the Poop Deck? I think it was early 1990s (and maybe C4).

Costacoffeeplease · 17/01/2016 22:07

Oh yes pipkins at lunchtime with Hartley Hare

Moln · 17/01/2016 22:07

Heidi yes!!! Can recall the theme tune now!!

I had been thinking of drama series as opposed to series. Wrong description on my part there Blush. Though many of the above bring back memories.

Tom's Midnight Garden was brilliant, as was Carrie's War - did that start with her on a train as an adult or something similar?
