Which children's TV Series did you remember from your childhood?

I came across a book I bought as a child The December Rose. I loved the series. Around that time I recall it was quite standard for the BBC to produce a brilliant series for children.

Ones I can recall (though not sure if they were all bbc) are:

December Rose (obviously!)
Moondial
Box of Delights
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrode

There were more I'm sure can anyone remember other ones (obviously different ages will have different memories!). More impressively can anyone recall what day they were broadcast on?

Moondial was weekday, during children's tv hours I think, and Box of Delights on Sunday evening?

I remember the Double Deckers well, morningtoncrescent! Remember Melvin Hayes as the caretaker (?) or is that my imagination

Davros · 22/01/2016 13:50

I can sing you the Double Decjers theme tune. Peter Firth was in it as was Brinsley Schwartz

blackbunny · 22/01/2016 13:53

Just thought,Melvin Hayes was in Double Deckers and he was in the film The Young Ones featuring....a double decker bus
Can you tell I'm on here putting off doing the ironing...

The second one was about a girl who was possibly an alien or a time traveller, I think she ended up in the future, where there were a lot of skyscrapers and it was dark and there were a lot of flying vehicles and they couldn't go to ground level for some reason confused The thing I remember about the girl is that she had a very severe ginger bob.

"Half way across the Galaxy and turn left" perhaps?

morningtoncrescent62 · 22/01/2016 16:53

Oh I do like a chorus of 'Here we come, the Double Deckers'. Although I can't sing along right now because I'm having one last listen to Stewpot's final Junior Choice before it disappears from iPlayer tomorrow. SadSadSadSad Yes, I'm pretty sure Melvyn Hayes was the caretaker - Alfred?
