Whether they actually went or not I don't know. But it seemed tenuous to me given that her salary would all but half and he had a half baked idea of dabbling in a wine job. I wish she'd stuck to her guns. Unless it was a ruse for the cameras and she knew it wasn't a goer.

Gracekelly - given that you've known people go on it , how does it work? Does the programme basically pay for a holiday for them and give them flights etc? I can feel a fake burning desire to emigrate coming on if so!!

They can't afford it! Why do they keep basing figures on her potentially being a teacher? What if she doesn't pass the exams etc? Takes ill, gets pregnant etc? I'm such a harbinger of doom.

I get the impression that these families don't just vote on the finances in the 'reality check' section. I mean just over £1,000 better off a year is not 'better off'. It would take years to recoup the moving costs, visa costs etc.

Was she basing her Oz income on being FT teacher or PT? She only works PT at the moment I assume.

She has to train first, although I'm sure she wouldn't have any trouble passing exams given her former career
