Anyone else put it on series record?

DH said, "You can tell it's January when deluded escapism is back on!"

I love it, but have no intention of ever moving to Oz.

And they'd already holidayed there...I thought it was a bit of a pisstake too tbh.

Well she has gone and he's still at home sorting out his visa application... So who knows!

I don't think he will go. I felt very sorry for her - it was quite a sad episode I thought, that she had been waiting and waiting and he went back on his promises.

I'm still behind - watching Wednesday's now, with the young Welsh couple. Perth looks absolutely lovely, and I thought Adelaide also looked amazing. It has just occurred to me that they never go to Sydney. Why is that?

Yes purple I agree. She had always aid she wanted to go home - non negotiable. That's hard to come to terms with. I sensed something deeper though from something his mum said about making the decision for him not for her - which to me didn't sound massively supportive of her.

For the love of God. Why are they showing them houses that are over an hours commute from Brisbane Airport?

Caloundra is beautiful, and so is Maleny. But they are known for their terrible drugs problems.

On the other hand the Aussie dollar has dropped so much in the last few months the houses are cheaper now.

No-one watching today? I have actually been to the area they are in three times. Absolutely lovely, for a holiday, but when we came home we just realised how lovely the part of England we live in is.

I'm surprised at the private school, though the cost doesn't seem an awful amount

When they visited the school I thought it might be private Grin Pleased to see from the update they have gone, it was a no brainer! The second house they showed was gorgeous wasn't it. Envy

Oldraver I think the private system is different there. I am not an expert but DD's friend has 3 children in private school at a fraction of the cost here.

Caloundra is beautiful, and so is Maleny. But they are known for their terrible drugs problems In Wanted Down Under there are no drugs problems, or racism, or bored teenagers, or parents worried that their children spend too much time online. I watch Sunrise (online) sometimes, and guess what, Australia has the same problems we have here, just with more sunshine.

Yes school fees did seem cheap and that extra cash will easily get eaten up with visits home.

I'm registering an interest. Have been watching and catching up on iplayer.
Never screen shot or paused the expenses sheet but I should. I'm sure I saw that the couple who worked in air traffic control and radiography had included a monthly chiropractor's bill for the whole family.

It always galls me when they say they'd be £X a month worse off when they're looking at property worth £50,000, £100,000 more than they have here. Surely they should only do a direct comparison, the same working hours, the same costs, not upgrading a 3 bed terrace for a 4 bed detached with a pool or near the beach Confused

I'd like to see them shake up the format. Show their work in the UK, the estate agent valuing their house with them present and then first off the other side of the world see the employment prospects before viewing properties. They should give more context for commute times, schooling, childcare and so on rather than showing a family day out, a picnic in the park and shock at the price of bananas?

It always amazes me when they say how wonderful the lifestyle is , do these people never take their children for days out at home ? The only difference is better weather .

I think they avoid Sydney and Melbourne now cos of the high house prices. I wish they'd avoid Auckland for the same reason. Unless you have a high level professional job you can have a better quality of life anywhere but Auckland.

Yes when she said "OMG, we will earn £15,000 more a year" I thought, 4 flights back home will take a big chunk out of that

floral and a Queensland summer is the rainy season. trufact I am still subscribed to the stormwatch emails as I cannot unsubscribe even though I have tried and I get more than one a fortnight in season. And those are just the ones considered to be potentially dangerous, not just ooh there's a spot of rain on the way.

It's a lovely place but it isn't utopia.

The husband in yesterdays one(i think) was a bit of a dick. Who applies for jobs on the other side of the world without telling and discussing it with your wife first.

I'd like them to clearly include the moving costs, cost of trips home and reality about how often family will visit (not much in my personal experience!)

Floral Grin

Who on earth claims to have an established dream of 24 years and yet have done absolutely nothing about it, not researching jobs, living costs or property via the internet? Weird. They have a nice home and lifestyle in England and there he is in tears despite knowing his wife and daughter want to stay there.

The bit where he spoke about leaving their daughter behind with Nan had me Shock Midlife crisis anyone?
