Morning! Icy cold rain and hail today. What a long week it's been. Just noticed a lot of glitter on the floor from a stray Christmas decoration. Will have to stay there till tonight.

Morning all. kelly hope your DD got on ok at the hospital yesterday. ilove we must have some stray glitter around too as keep finding it on DSs head from when he is rolling around on the floor.
Work is sorted. Mil is taking him for a day so I can do 4 full days. Am grateful to her but a bit worried about it too having to rely on her so much but guess it's not forever.
Watched the first war and peace last night and really enjoyed it.

Not raining here for a change today but bloomin freezing! DH de-iced the car for me before he went to work but by the the time I left the house, it was frozen over again!

Finished Outlander last night! Absolutely fab series. Cannot recommend enough and my quest for quality QS to watch on TV is finally over

So jealous of all the abroad holidays booked or in the process of. Hope you ladies have a fab time wherever you go. I can't imagine taking my kids on holiday yet. Maybe next year? I want a dishwasher first and get the kitchen worked on.

Kelly and other interested folks. Two more series you might like from one of our pay to view providers;
UnREAL _ what really goes on behind the scenes at TV dating shows, eg The Bachelor/Bachelorette. Very funny,sleazy, hot in parts.

Flesh and Bone_ Promising ballet dancer runs away from Dad and big brother, (Afghanistan vet) both sleaze buckets, to make it to the top in major ballet company. Great characters, challenging storylines Woof and co, spectacular male bods with tempting protuberances (good word!!) aplenty. Have just finished watching series, excellent.

I'm a bit meh about the holiday to be honest kelly, DS's school is shut for a few days so it gives us a chance for a short term time break. We thought would be cheaper but it's pretty pricey for a few days and I'm thinking we could spend the money better elsewhere or do something closer for cheaper - being the end of January we have to go a bit further afield for a bit of warmth or just to be clear of the risk of horrible weather.

Apparently LT's absolutely smashing it in EE at the minute with her acting in the various storylines. I've always thought she was a good actress.

Yeah pix. Before kids came along, we always used to go away end of Jan and it was nearly always raining. Don't blame you for wanting to get away abroad for nicer weather.

I could be totally wrong pix, but do you not get free child prices somehow when you go abroad or is that just for 2 week holidays? Am I thinking right ice?

We've literally only got a couple of days off school so I assumed any kind of package deal was out so I haven't even bothered to look tbh.

I saw a bit the other night kelly and she was pretty amazing. It's a huge storyline so kind of see why she didn't want to have a break from EE.

pixie if you decide to stay in the UK for your break and do the Lakes or Scotland, you and I could meet up somewhere. Of course, if you decided to go up to Scotland, you could meet Jen and Whajeb too! Three birds with one stone and all that!

Got to agree that LT is amazing in Eastenders at the moment, her performance in last nights episode was really moving. I couldn't tear my eyes away from her.

I've got 2 eps of outlander to go...Watched 13 and 14 last night, and thought I recognised the place where Jamie and the Watch were ambushed - turns out a lot of it was filmed at a park 5 mins walk from the flat we had when eldest was born and where I used to take him for long walks the only time he didn't scream the place down! Still not far from it now. Googled it and apparently they've been there filming parts of series 2 there as well. Can't believe so much of it was filmed so close by, I assumed it was the highlands.

Snowing here tonight, hoping it doesn't get too bad before I get home from work.

pix bit of sunshine envy here, ended up at the Doctors this morning as my face decided that it would suddenly swell up - not an attractive look for my year 11 students - thinks it could be viral or shingles... now googling rapidly! Bit of a panic as we are supposedly off for some sun and snow in a few weeks, being positive it is just one more thing to round of the first working week of the new year - speed awareness course, resilience and wellbeing in the workplace and now shingles! The year can only get better!! Perhaps I can upload all my 14 units of alcohol this evening!!!

I caught a tiny bit of EE this week (MrP banned me from watching it when DS was born, and there's no way on earth I can find the time to watch it now), I know Stacey has had the baby and someone who said he was her brother has turned up. Is this another brother, because her previous brother (Sean?) was a bit tasty and this guy wasn't. Is the baby boring Martin's or is it her mate's husband's? Who is not tasty brother, is he her Dad's child?

I've always loved LT as an actress, I think that someone so young having such big storylines shows how great she is, I just wish she would give other vehicles a go. She was really good in Being Human.

I see Kristina from SCD is.pregnant by Ben Cohen. Is he the guy she had the affair with when he was her dancing partner?

pix brother v.2 is not an improved version is he?? Stacey's dad had a secret family and that's where this half brother has come from, her other brother (tasty) Sean was her big brother. And the baby is her mate's (whose baby recently died) husband's, but dull Martin thinks it's his. Although she is convinced in her post natal psychosis that he's the son of God cheery stuff!!!!

BK I've had shingles. They were down my face. I looked as if I'd done ten rounds with Mike Tyson. Have you been signed off? You're infectious to anyone who's not had chickenpox. I had some massive antibiotics but didn't feel particularly ill.

I don't think I'd be meeting up with Jen and whajeb if we went to Scotland, as they will be in London for the meet that weekend.

How frustrating not to have known about Outlander when they were filming Jen. I gather that they're back in Scotland filming now/soon. Episodes 14 & 15 are a bit tough going, just to give you a bit of a warning.

Erm, why hasn't anyone noticed the post natal psychosis? My mate had that and she had a team of mental health workers with her for hours every day. I don't mind them highlighting these things, but make it a bit realistic. She would be on all sorts of lists given her history.

Maybe this is why I don't watch soaps any more (I just have The Archers, full of no less preposterous storylines)

ilove no Doc hasn't said anything about staying away from work, although sounds like school is off my visit list, although he has given me some antiviral drugs to try and kick in early - not looking quite like MT but feel more elephant man!

pix my SIL swears by airbnb and we have had some amazing apartments on booking.com, useful for short stays.

Wow jen that's amazing that filming is so close to you. Maybe you can catch up a bit of series 2 filming if they have come back to do anymore. Ooh you could be very close to Jamie's thighs . Yeah not sure how I feel about work really. Kind of a needs must situation, just glad it's sorted. Start back 23rd Feb

Talking about work a colleague just text saying that did I realise i was down to work next Saturday night. Still on maternity and bit of a baptism of fire with a 15 hr night shift in A&E on sat night after 10mths off!! Luckily it's sorted and was a mistake but did nearly fall off the bed when I read the text!

Dip in and out of eastenders really. Love some storylines but find others a bit hard going and a bit too depressing to watch. To be honest football is on most of the time in our house.

Maddie glad your working hours are sorted. I know what you mean about feeling beholden to in laws but it sounds a reasonable solution at the moment. Once you're back in post after a few months, would there be a chance to reconsider your hours?

pixie I feel the same way about Holby City as you do about EE. May be good television but not always realistic. Still, we felt like that about OG in parts, didn't we? MD sharing quarters with the squaddies etc.
