Once you're over 40 ilove any sausage at all for tea is worthwhile; think any prick in a storm Wink

KellyHb · 03/02/2016 21:38

Urrggh evening all. Been bleeding chaos at Kelly Towers all afternoon! DD was sent home from school this afternoon with a chesty cough. All seemed okay with a few goes on her inhaler but she's got worse and was about to taker her to A&E tonight but then she's been projectile vomiting for a few hours now bless her.

Managed to get her to sleep but if she's still chesty later I might take her up to hospital although they'll just say its a virus. Aarrrgh! I hope the twins don't get this. I've never had two of them being sick yet but odds on itll happen.

So woof had no decent meat and two veg for tea at all. Shock

Sat down for two minutes and watching a programme with Nigel Havers in. He's not bad looking still.

pixieg1rl · 03/02/2016 21:41

Just seen an advert for Royal Navy programme on channel 4 which reminded me of the navy advert I saw the other day; young Ben can hoist my sails whenever he likes (sorry ilove Captain Birdseye beard trigger warning)

pixieg1rl · 03/02/2016 22:04

Oh dear Kelly, I hope that's the worst of it over, poor thing.

Onlygirljen · 03/02/2016 22:13

Thanks pix, I'm definitely only going back because I feel bad about dropping everyone in the shit - the dr had signed me off till end of the week. Will see how I go tomorrow.

What a crap day kelly, hope she feels better soon.

I went to a metafit class once and wanted to die afterwards, definitely not for me. My fitness level is ridiculously bad though, haven't done much in the way of exercise since severe SPD last time I was pregnant.

MaddieMoo82 · 03/02/2016 22:15

Ah no hope DD is better ASAP kelly and the twins don't get poorly too Flowers

Ilovelblue · 03/02/2016 22:20

God, I am so tired. Maybe I should have had more time off!

woof I think you're right about the sausages.

I've been catching up on Holby. The storylines have been really absurd lately but tonight a female army major who is a surgeon on the front line in Afghanistan is brought to the hospital. I would imagine she ends up working at Holby. Her husband arrives at the hospital and I couldn't think where I'd seen him. Then I remembered.... he was Molly's sergeant in the OG pilot when she first joins up. (I think he was also in Downton).

pixie that beard isn't too frightening. I've seen ones far worse.

Ilovelblue · 03/02/2016 22:25

Oh Kelly I hope things are ok for you.

Rhubarb I think we're all a bit off at this time of the year. It doesn't normally affect me as much as it has done this January but I've felt "all over the shop" to quote one Molly Dawes. I did have an awful feeling this thread was going to fold for a while - we didn't seem to be posting much and of course there was no filming news to keep us buoyed up either. Today, in complete contrast, there seems to have been a flurry of posts.

Off to check out the new Milk Tray man.

Ilovelblue · 03/02/2016 22:40

I didn't need to check him out on the internet - there's a slot about him on our late night local news! Hmmm, I wouldn't throw him out if he turned up on the doorstep.

Rhubarb01 · 03/02/2016 23:32

Evening. Poor DD and poor you Kelly. Vomiting viruses and kids are the worst. I remember all three of mine having one once. First one on the first night totally inconsiderately plastered the stairs and hall of all places - oh what a scene of devastation and late at night and then the other two were ill at the same time the following night and I spent the whole time going backwards and forwards from one room to the other - I shudder at the memory. Plus I didn't eat for about three days as I was totally put off and worried about catching it too. Hopefully your DD's was just a reaction to the coughing? Fingers crossed.

No sausages here today but they have been known to be on the menu. I particularly like a good Bratwurst!

ilove if that was the recruiting sergeant then it must be the infamous Downton Pigman! (I didn't see it but I remember recognising him when I re-watched the pilot). Think I might gonna miss those Downton pigs!

KellyHb · 04/02/2016 00:12

Thanks ladies. Unfortunately DD's still vomiting. She can't hold any little amount of water down yet either. Poor thing. She's exhausted and all she wants is a drink. Definitely think it's more of a bug.

I've said to DH could he start work later tomorrow as I dont want to drag DD out to school to drop the twins off in her state. Hopefully he will.

pixieg1rl · 04/02/2016 06:01

I hope she improved overnight Kelly, and everyone had a chance at a bit of rest.

MaddieMoo82 · 04/02/2016 06:48

Morning! How is your DD this morning kelly? Hope she is feeling a bit better Flowers X

moojangles · 04/02/2016 07:27

kelly hope your DD had a better night and is feeling better this morning, and that you got some sleep.

Nickel45 · 04/02/2016 08:00

kel hope you managed to get some sleep and your little is feeling a bit better this morning. Sending hugs xxx

jen hope you at feeling better too. I know what you mean about being off work whe you're ill, but hopefully you won't have too much to do today ... Sniff and sneeze a lot! Hopefully they'll send you home :) take care xx

Hope everyone else who hasn't been feeling brill, is feeling better, it's a horrid time of year for bugs .... We need a bit of a hard frost, kill them all off!!

Have a good day everyone x

Alwaysfrank · 04/02/2016 08:22

Hope your DD is OK Kel, it's awful when they can't even keep water down. I hope your dh manages to help with the school run.

I still remember vividly the evening all four of mine went down with a vomiting bug within about 20 minutes. The eldest was about 8 and she pretty much took care of herself but dh was out and I was running back and forth between the other three. I had to call him and ask him to come home in the end. DS1 had done the vomiting equivalent of painting himself into a corner in the bathroom and couldn't move, and the twins had each got through all their cot bedding and I just didn't know what to do!

KellyHb · 04/02/2016 09:10

Morning ladies.

Thanks for the kind words. DD was sick a couple of times overnight but don't think she had anything left to bring up. She's lying on settee drinking more water and watching a DVD. I slept on the settee while DD was in our bed and it was bizarrely comfortable.

One twin went to school saying he had a sore stomach so we'll see it turns out to be anything.

DH went into work later while I took twins into school but hes so conscientious about being late for work, even though he'd already told his boss and he was fine about it, DD was having a mini stress out. He needs to chill out. Angry

Can't wait for summer and get these bugs out the way.

Hope everyone's feeling okay this morning.

Saw the advert for The Night Manager too. It looks pretty good. Think it starts next month.

pixieg1rl · 04/02/2016 09:36

It sounds like she's on the mend kelly. Let's hope the boys sore tummies were just because they saw their sister was poorly. Hope you get a bit of a rest when they're at nursery.

MaddieMoo82 · 04/02/2016 10:03

Ah kelly glad she has kept a bit of water down and hopefully she will continue to improve. MrMads is the opposite... Is late for everything and doesn't bother him... Just struts in to work late most days Confused

Just dropped DS to mils for the morning. I think he probably feels he is being punished especially after the nursery meltdown yesterday! Bless him.

Right dog walk.... And it's raining.. Lovely!

KellyHb · 04/02/2016 11:00

Any lunchtime treats mads while you havent got DS??

pix trying to rest but DD is keep asking me a ton of questions about everything and nothing for some reason Confused

pixieg1rl · 04/02/2016 11:29

Oh I know that one Kelly I am constantly being asked questions about Star Wars (we have so far managed to avoid Minecraft, at least I know quite a bit something about Star Wars)

Richtea19 · 04/02/2016 13:05

Inspired by apsara- did body pump today! You are right about the group classes, once they close that door you can't escape! Enjoyed it though !

kelly really hope all this illness passes soon. Thanks

pixieg1rl · 04/02/2016 13:24

I can't begin to imagine having the time to go to an exercise class. I think MrP and I need to have another of our chats about making time for ourselves; we never do anything either alone or together without an excruciating amount of planning and managing well, nagging on my part. I'm getting a bit sick of it. Before we went on holiday we had a massive row about it. It doesn't help that he's away for work for about 2/3 of February.

KellyHb · 04/02/2016 15:14

Phew its taken me most of the day but all three kids are asleep at once in the settee -woohoo!

DDs getting better but doubt I'd send her in tomorrow.

I know what you mean pix about lacking time to spend together. When I was away at the weekend and looking at DH it was like 'who are you again??'

The class sounded good rich. I wonder if there's bog standard Aerobics classes now or if that's a bit old fashioned?

Richtea19 · 04/02/2016 15:19

pixie I can only do this stuff because the boys are older and my days off work can be for me, although I'm normally cleaning and ironing! I do remember being stuck at home but rest assured it will change - and then when you get the attitude and crap from teenagers.. You will wish they were babies again!!!

Also I haven't shared the latest DS drama. Saturday night he was out with some friends, we were out for dinner, back late so didn't see him (other than tucked up in bed). In the morning I noticed he had half an eyebrow! He got drunk with his friends and they dared him to do it. BK what was I saying on Saturday about how sensible he could be!!!!!!!
