pix your DS and my DH have the same birthday and mine has the maturity level of a five year old so more in common! I also have running out of the house at dawn and not returning till dark guilt, hope you manage to get home and see him. He'll have a massive fuss made at school and clubs I bet, my eldest always prefers being at school on his birthday because of the extra fuss they get!

mads the change in work environment might work out well! When I was on mat leave with youngest I was terrified going back as the company had been taken over while I was off and I had a whole new team, new boss etc. I was really wary, but the new people were great except the boss and I wouldn't have gone back to the way it was before.

pixieg1rl · 21/01/2016 08:07

Did your DH get Star Wars Lego as well Jen? Grin

MaddieMoo82 · 21/01/2016 08:52

Awww happy birthday to your DS pix and to mrJ jen Smile

And thanks jen that's good to know Flowers

kuiakaituhi · 21/01/2016 09:21

Woof and others. Thought you might like to peruse some new(ish) Kiwi crumpet. Martin Henderson. Has been around NZ for a while, but now on Grey's Anatomy...just saying...

Morning all.

Happy Birthday to your DS pix! Flowers Aw, its always sweet when they proclaim their new birthday age. Hope you get to see him later

kuia lovely pics. I've been a fan of Martin Henderson's for a few years since he was in a couple of films and a saucy role in a Britney Spears video. He's lovely and yes very handsome in Grey's Anatomy. Are you a fan of the show?

pix sorry forgot to reply to your question yesterday. I think we're staying overnight at the hotel where we had our wedding reception for my birthday. Although I'll be worried about leaving the kids overnight. MIL and FIL are coming up to stay at ours. I'll force myself to have a drink that night or five Grin

Really frosty here today.

Richtea19 · 21/01/2016 10:13

Happy birthday little pix!! Ahh to have little ones that have presents to open and not "cash" make the most of it! And b day wishes to Mr Jen.

Now for my rant... I was taking my dad out today to John Lewis as he wants a new TV, bigger 40inch. Said I would take him and we can have a look etc and then a coffee. Then my bloody sister sticks her ore in and now he's phoned so say he is confused and perhaps needs a bigger one!!! What his 82!!! I'm so angry. She is bossy and a bully. Anyway rant over! Breath. She's coming over in a while as hairdresser over to colour my hair and she's having a cut, might ask hairdresser to slip with the scissors Wink

Also rhu the toilet thing you posted, our house is set back off a green and in the car park were public toilets which where known in the area as a men's meeting place. They are closed now!!!

kuiakaituhi · 21/01/2016 10:24

Hi Kelly Glad you like our Martin. I'm not fussed about Grey's Anatomy, but do like this Kiwi export, in the same class as the best Marlborough wines and Sonny Bill Williams as far as I'm concerned.
I'm wondering about Woofs opinion.

pixieg1rl · 21/01/2016 10:36

Hmm, his head isn't very Lego shaped kuia.

That second one makes him look like a young David Duchovny.

KellyHb · 21/01/2016 12:47

Oops forgot to say Happy Birthday to MrJ Jen.

You made me laugh rich with your scissors comment. Grin Hope you have a nice afternoon. Sometimes my friend that I've known for years, who's a mobile hairdresser does my hair but we always end up chatting and doing hair comes last.

moojangles · 21/01/2016 15:33

Happy Birthday to littlepixie and mrjen

cjwoofwoof · 21/01/2016 16:25

Happy Birthday to pixlet and mrJ - it's great being 5 physically or mentally but it was just over 20 years ago for me sadly Blush

Now kuia onto the important matter of further Kiwi Krumpet in the shape of MH ... I have to say not quite the top drawer KK of dear Manu or SBW, but he could come and bottom out my closet if ever I was in need of a little stopgap for sure.

Talking of top drawer, did anyone see AT looking divine on the NTA Awards last night? I had to scrape my tongue off the kitchen floor when his tight bum waggled up the steps to the stage to collect his award. And the RL Irish accent almost pushed posh boy CJs into a cocked hat or at least a cocked something

KellyHb · 21/01/2016 16:47

Yes woof AT looked bloody gorgeous. Plus apparently he says there's going to be a lot more shirtless scenes in S2 Grin

Ilovelblue · 21/01/2016 17:09

I'm an only child Richtea so never had those sorts of issues with my parents but I know of friends who have issues with siblings interfering a lot. Tends to be those who see their parents the least who feel the need to interfere the most. I hope that's not true in your case?

pixieg1rl · 21/01/2016 17:17

I think a few shirtless scenes are the least they can give us after making us wait so patiently long

Onlygirljen · 21/01/2016 17:44

pix duplo is more his level Grin

I managed to get off work and was heading home to make a nice birthday tea, but have been informed he's off to the gym - pffft.

While we are having family rants, tell me if I'm being weird with this one. Littlest is off nursery at the moment with yet another cold and temp. Mil offered to watch him in ours yesterday so as not to take him out in the cold. Got home yesterday and she announced that she'd noticed I had loads of washing not done, so she'd done a few loads. Including the underwear pile [insert horrified face]. I tried to say thanks as politely as possible, but am I alone in being horrified that she's been digging through our dirty smalls?! Why she was even looking to see how much dirty washing there was in the first place is beyond me!! hope she didn't spot the signed CJ photo in my knicker drawer Blush

MaddieMoo82 · 21/01/2016 17:53

Yes to more shirtless AT Smile that's cheered me up.

Hmmm jen I think I would find that a bit weird really. I'm sure she meant well but I don't think I would be comfortable with mil alone in our house let alone washing my smalls Confused.

When MrMads was short of cash and I was at uni he moved back home and she used to change his bed linen this didn't bother him as he was and still is very lazy but made me feel very uncomfortable Blush

pixieg1rl · 21/01/2016 17:57

Hmm, I'm sure she feels it's well intentioned but I'd feel weird about anyone except me or MrP going through the dirty laundry. I would probably offer to do a very good friends if she was incapacitated but I'd ask first. Now we're all waiting for when MrJ raises the issue of another man's photo in your knickers Grin

In MIL news MrP's mum phoned yesterday to ask me that in the event of her death would we like her coathangers. Then she started telling me what her breasts looked like now she's lost lots of weight after the cancer Confused

Rhubarb01 · 21/01/2016 18:09

Pixie I just laughed out loud at that little coathanger gem and told DH who commented "That's some Will!"

Happy birthday to pixie jr and Mr Jen. As for the MIL assistance I think it is probably very kindly meant but I think we all know how you feel. Whenever my MIL used to do something helpful when minding the kids for me I always felt it was a mild criticism of my housekeeping even though I knew it wasn't and it did need doing. She just wanted to be helpful but I'd feel awkward about my undies being under any close inspection. My SIL's also tend to arrive at our house if we ever have a gathering or party and go up in our bedroom to leave their bags and coats - I absolutely hate that especially as I will have hidden any muddles etc up there not expecting anyone to go in! Even my Mum and Dad and sister don't do that!

orphan · 21/01/2016 18:26

Happy birthday to the birthday boys!Smile

pixie my mind's boggling as to what these coat hangers are like? I'm assuming not the cheapo wire type or plastic jobs with Primark printed on?

orphan · 21/01/2016 18:38

woof glad you had a rewarding time in Oslo. Of course you do have form with policemen. The infamous 'baton bending' incident in Toulouse, whilst we were on our specialist sausage sampling tour, springs to mind.

Just about to google Martin Henderson...

pixieg1rl · 21/01/2016 18:41

Apparently they're special ones that have a hinged bit that you can hang loads of things from and then flip down to save hanging space. Probably a treasured item she got from the betterware catalogue.

MaddieMoo82 · 21/01/2016 18:41

Coat hangers pix Shock wft??

I think I'd only want them if they were those nice wooden ones...

Nickel45 · 21/01/2016 18:43

pix maybe she's planning on hiding her millions under the coathanger covers for you to find?!

jen, I'd feel weird about that too ... when my mum comes and has the kids sometimes she tends to hoover and clean the bathroom, but I don't mind that so much as it usually needs doing, but even she hasn't done my washing! even DH doesn't venture into the washing bin unless its an emergency!

Hope MrJen and pixlet (love that woof!) have had good birthdays. Loved your duplo comment ... my DH has given up trying to help DS with his lego - we're just called on now to pull pieces apart when he can't do it himself :) How was the cake pix? My littlie has changed her mind about a dozen times as to what she wants. Thankfully she has gone from a Tom & Jerry standing up cake like that was ever going to happen through all the Frozen ones, and is now on a kit-kat cake (google it!) - hopefully I can manage that one.
