I think it's fine to have favourites - that's the joy of the show - rooting for a particular couple - but I wish people would just say 'I like this pair best' instead of coming out with supposed reasons.

Kellie went to Sylvia Young - she will have had extensive dance training - I'm not voting for her because she's not my favourite not because she's had training. They've all had training in either performance or dance. Considering performance is what sells a dance and most people aren't experts in technique, actors have the biggest advantage IMO. That wouldn't stop me voting for an actor if they were my favourite.

My reason's for liking Jay are that he and Aliona have great chemistry and he has emerged from being a rather awkward in his own skin, terrified of performing, young man to someone who can perform, dance beautifully and is truly doing it for the joy of the experience. I find the way he moves very touching. I like the others too - but I like him best.

If the show invites people on who have had training in either performing or dance (and they have to or you could get 15 total duffers) then that should be it - if they are legimately allowed to enter the competition then they shouldn't be penalised for perceived advantages - they can't eliminate their past, but all of them are learning new skills in ballroom. And if you are to penalise Jay for throwing in a bit of comtemporary, then equally penalise Kellie and Georgia for making facial expressions and emoting as they have learned from their past experiences.

I shall wait for the night - if Jay stuffs up big time, I may even throw one of my votes someone else's way. Who knows, Katie and Anton may blow us all away tomorrow Grin

GrouchyKiwi · 18/12/2015 14:03

I'm starting to get excited for tomorrow. We're watching the new Star Wars film in the afternoon (no children for a few hours!) and then there's the Strictly final. It will be a Good Day.

At this point, Georgia and Giovanni are my favourites. I love their relationship and I think she's beautiful to watch (he's no slug either). Really hope they do well.

poorbuthappy · 18/12/2015 14:10

I am perplexed by GG's show dance to Fix you by Coldplay.
That song certainly isn't show dancey to me.

I'm still angry about Anton robbing Anita of a place in the final. And let's face it that's why they are in the final, it should be about Katie not about him. Stupid sentimental rubbish that thankfully the public don't seem to be buying. I'm tempted to start an "anyone but Anton" movement for tomorrow night.

AnyoneButSanta · 18/12/2015 16:48

Interesting to realise that there may actually be a small but significant anti-Katie/Anton backlash. The anti-Katie stories in the media seemed pretty feeble to me, but I guess someone's probably believing them.

Dipankrispaneven · 18/12/2015 16:55

I think it was Gleb's choice of dance-off dance that robbed Anita of the place, not Anton. And if you think about it, there's a case for saying she should have gone the previous week instead of Helen.

morningtoncrescent62 · 18/12/2015 17:28

There was an article about Katie in the Metro today, all about her shrugging off rumours of a fix, and Anton being the judges' favourite. According to the article, the voted-off celebs are divided about whether there's been a fix or not. Anyone know whether it's true? Not whether there's been a fix, but that some of the celebs think there's been.

Team K&K are my favourites since Helen went, and I'm made up that they're doing a lindyhop which I love.

I have to work tomorrow daytime. I finish at 5, and it normally takes me about an hour to get home so it should be fine. But those Christmas shoppers had better get out of my way - I'll be elbowing them off the bus if needs must. Grin

TheDrsDocMartens · 18/12/2015 17:43

Only one I think was fixed ( or rules not applied correctly) NPP v Jamelia

They have been jiggling the marks around.

GlitteryRollers · 18/12/2015 18:18

Anita wasn't given the option to do her foxtrot again though was she? They had to do their second dances.

I'm sad I won't get to see her paso again, and Im gutted we won't see her showdance.

Surely it's a conflict of interest that Anton is a personal friend of Len still appearing as a pro.

Redcrayons · 18/12/2015 18:28

I'm going to be out for the final - for the last few years, it's clashed with a Christmas party. Wish they would move it to Sunday.

I don't mind any of them winning really. Jay and GG are the better dancers so should be one of them. I think that it will be Jay though.

Just read about Zoe's work Christmas do shenanigans Shock.

emotionsecho · 18/12/2015 18:32

I utterly hate Lindy Hop imo it's a horrible dance - all flat feet, ugly shoes and every time I've seen it performed the thunder thighs distract me - I'm not looking forward to it and I feel K&K have done far too many 'comedy' dances this season which play to Kellie's acting strengths rather than showcasing her dancing ability.

I am still rooting for Jay and hoping he wins and doesn't let nerves get the better of him and he makes mistakes.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Georgia's charleston again, good choice but are K&K also doing a Charleston?

Agree with you Kurri I find the was Jay dances very touching, there is something about the way he moves and the way he is with his partner that is very difficult to describe but which is beautiful.

emotionsecho · 18/12/2015 18:32

PS - missed you all the last two weeks.

Redcrayons · 18/12/2015 18:35

I'm predicting:
First out - Kellie
3rd place - Katie
2nd place - GG
Winner - Jay.

GG to get the only straight 40.

Behooven · 18/12/2015 18:54

Grin Zoe's little face when she read out the email about an office night out, glad she can laugh at herself. And Bruno's "whole package" comment - he's so outrageous when he camps it up like that Grin I'm going to miss Strictly.

Fwiw, I like Anton very much but I'll be voting for whoever's best on the night.

Fiderer · 18/12/2015 19:05

Agree that Jay's dancing is touching but I think he lacks that spark.

Also agree about Kellie & the comedy dancing which the Lindy Hop seems to exemplify, what I've seen of it at least.

Georgia has the ability & the spark.

Katie elegant but also not sparky.

Still, anything can happen tomorrow.

Love Craig as Hook.

OP posts:
digerd · 18/12/2015 19:37

Craig makes a good Captain Hook, but Richard is a RL Peter Pan who hasn't aged.

Fiderer · 18/12/2015 19:40

Was the 'Peter Pan' Richard trying and failing to grow a hipster beard in an adolescent fashion? Either that or he forgot to shave.

What shenanigans has Zoe been up to?

OP posts:
emotionsecho · 18/12/2015 19:41

I think Jay does have the spark, Georgia can be a bit too 'little girl' for me, Katie is elegant but something is lacking and she only seems good a ballroom and even then she makes mistakes, I'm just a bit tired and jaded by Kellie and Kevin's 'comedy' routines they are starting to feel a bit predictable and 'samey' to me.

emotionsecho · 18/12/2015 19:45

Apparently snogging a 20 year old boy band member (not sure who or what band he is from I only caught a glimpse of the story when looking for something else).

AnyoneButSanta · 18/12/2015 19:46

Zoe snogged a boyband singer young enough to be her son on the dance floor at the ITT Xmas Party this week. There are photos so it's 100% true. She apparently fessed up to Norman when she got home, possibly slurring "I bloody love you norm" at the end.

I feel Aliona's sweatshirt may have been a little to the point.

Redcrayons · 18/12/2015 19:49

It would appear that Zoe was set up somewhat, the curse of camera phones.

TurduckenForDinner · 18/12/2015 19:55

Who was the woman sitting to the right of Richard? Is she on Eastenders?

Fiderer · 18/12/2015 20:00

Have been on the Google. Curse also of people selling photos to the tabloids.

OP posts:
AnyoneButSanta · 18/12/2015 20:06

Our right? That was Tameka Empson - standup comic turned Eastenders regular. Was meant to be in Strictly a couple of years out but dropped out, dunno why.
