here you go

comeagainforbigfudge · 17/12/2015 08:01

Oh somehow managed to lurk through the entire last thread.

Been watching all the videos you put up cavemum. They are amazing, although that jive one made me laugh - guy with the oiled chest GrinGrinGrin

And the ladies all had some very sparkly dresses. I did also love how the audience were in full evening dress!!

Anyways, I'm excited about for the final but fear I won't get to watch it live. (DD'S bedtime) but it can be my Sunday afternoon treat.

I reckon that k&a will pull something out the bag with their showdance. That music strikes me as being very tango-esque. And their tango was sooooo dramatic. Could be good.

I'm totally over the whole Clifton thing. It was driving me nuts but now it's nearly over I'm a bit meh next year we should play Clifton bingo, "how many appearances in a week" type affair

I do think Joanne is very good at explaining things. Makes me wonder how good a dancer she could make of a celeb with some ability?

GlitteryRollers · 17/12/2015 08:16

There is a scathing article about Anton in today's Sun. Apparently he's not nice with runners and people backstage. I know it's The Sun,, but this kind of confirms some backstage rumours I was told fairly recently. Most of the pros are nice, but there are a few who aren't. It's it not the ones you'd think either.

GrouchyKiwi · 17/12/2015 08:21

Is Natalie nice? I will be very upset if she isn't.

Fiderer · 17/12/2015 08:33

Me too. I don't mind if the ones I don't take to are really nice.

I do mind the other way round, iyswim.

*Grouchy" Re Karen Hardy being in NZ, well humph and pfft, she should sort her personal life out to be here for SCD esp if she does become a judge Wink

One can but hope.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what Jo Clifton can do with Harry Judd in the Christmas special. He's a lovely ballroom dancer and they're doing an American smooth I think so it could be a bit special - also want to see what Oti can do with Tom Chambers who's more or less a pro dancer at this point.

See I've only heard nice things about Anton. My teacher had him into her dance school as a guest teacher years ago (pre-strictly) when she used to run summer school sessions and she said he's lovely. He was great teaching the kids and used to tell the boys to imagine they had rocket boosters on their elbows to help them move round the floor Grin

She also used to use Len and said he'd come in with water pistols to shoot at the kids!

comeagain yes the oily couple made me giggle, though it could be sweat I guess (ick). They make a big thing for the Finals of the big competitions so there is usually a dress code for spectators.

poorbuthappy · 17/12/2015 10:24

I'm always torn this close to the final.

I am so looking forward to watching it with the family but I always feel so empty once it's finished that I get a little bit teary...

Lulabellarama · 17/12/2015 10:47

I saw the Xmas special being filmed last week. I'm not allowed to say anything about it but yes, Jo and Harry is one to look forward to.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 17/12/2015 10:51

I did think it was a bit odd on ITT last night how they said Harry was doing the American Smooth again and got 39 for it last time - that was a VW-based one, whereas this one will be a foxtrot-based one. They'll be very different!

Also I expect Jo's choreography will be less... contemporary than Aliona's sometimes is. Should be good though - I loved his ballroom.

morningtoncrescent62 · 17/12/2015 12:24

I never really like the Xmas special. Without all the build-up and tension of the competition it just seems to me like a bunch of random people dancing. The final, on the other hand, has come to mean the beginning of Christmas for me. Decorations up in the afternoon, bottle of bubbly chilling in the fridge, and then come the start of Strictly I declare Christmas open.

GlitteryRollers · 17/12/2015 15:43

Yes GrouchyKiwi, Natalie is apparently very nice. So is Kristina which surprised me, but it goes to show you should never judge people on what you read in the papers.

MelanieCheeks · 17/12/2015 18:41

My best friend has hugged Anton - says he smells gorgeous! (They rehearse near where she works)

I really liked that piece with Georgia on ITT, I don't think I'd be too upset if she won though Jay is still my favourite

AnyoneButSanta · 17/12/2015 20:09

Showdance training footage!!!! (teeny bit overinvested)

Katie showing the strain but still some days to go. Georgia looking good but those spins are more difficult than Jay makes them look, and if she doesn't improve Giovanni will have to dance down to match her on them. Kellie hugely ambitious to attempt a whole new batch of entirely fresh choreography. So plucky. I was hoping that Aliona would go for a Lindy/jive/swing/Charleston routine but now I see their routine I realise how clever she's been by building on the stuff Jay can already do to leave more time for refinements.

Didn't clock until I saw ITT that "I Can't Feel My Face" is a swipe at the judges' criticism of Jay. God I love Aliona, bloody minded to the last.

I'm out to see Star Wars on Saturday with the family. It had better be good, because otherwise I'll just be drumming my fingers thinking "the sooner this is over the sooner the strictly final starts"

GlitteryRollers · 17/12/2015 20:34

I just watched Jay's jive again. Why the hell aren't they doing it again on Saturday? It's probably the best ever male celeb dance in the history of Strictly, even better than Tom's showdance.

millimat · 17/12/2015 22:24

Nothing beats tom's show dance Grin
I am voting for Kellie. Listened to them on Chris Evans this morning and I think they deserve it. I've no idea how she's filmed EE as well, and like others have said there's more personality there. I like Kevin too - maybe without realising it I'd like a British pro to win?

987flowers · 17/12/2015 23:33

Since Anita has gone I'm on team k&k. They used to annoy me but have really grown on me! I find Georgia bland, jay has had too much training and Katie not good enough and a little bit smug and not willing to take advice!

chicaguapa · 17/12/2015 23:57

Thanks anyone

If Jay's showdance is going to be the contemporary stuff he could do before Strictly I won't be voting for him. Hmm

I want Georgia to win because I want to see Giovanni's face light up with joy and pride.

AnyoneButSanta · 18/12/2015 06:47

Jay's Showdance is going to be a combination of favourite moves from all his dances throughout the series along with some hiphop contemporary stuff. Sounds like a good formula to me.

Fiderer · 18/12/2015 06:54

Watching ITT last night I thought (as every year) that I'd really like an ITT show after the final to chew it all over.

Extended show, lots of clips and haul the judges in to explain their marking and argue about the outcome if necessary Grin

Dipankrispaneven · 18/12/2015 07:14

How can you decide before the final who you're going to vote for? Suppose you decide to vote for someone who totally messes it up whilst another competitor produces an equivalent to the Tom Chambers show dance, or Jay's jive?

Fiderer · 18/12/2015 07:45

I think it's natural to have favourites, interesting how some of us take to some pros & clebs, and others to others.

Also possible to vote for whoever did perform the best on the night, regardless of your favourite.

And equally possible - probable Grin - to rant afterwards that someone wuz robbed.

AnyoneButSanta · 18/12/2015 08:03

Tom's Showdance of course started off with a huge dollop of stuff that he could do before he even started Strictly. That was a cracking dance, but then so was Jason's, and Simon's and Zoe's.....

Clayhead · 18/12/2015 13:37

Am surprised at the love for Tom's showdance - I HATED it!

Maybe it's just me Grin
