On the drinks with Kelly

Enjoy your drink ladies. I've just watched the first episode of and then there were none. No AT towel action yet think I might need a towel for it Grin

Nickel45 · 29/12/2015 21:03

Hi all. I'm back in the land of wifi, and have missed you guys. It was brilliant catching up with pix yesterday, and now I have a shed load of ff to read. Yahay :) one happy bunny here!,

pixieg1rl · 29/12/2015 21:04

Well I've had a lovely couple of days meeting up with nickel and Kelly. It's been really fun to meet people you've been chatting to for so long and reassure yourself they aren't hairy middle aged men in disguise Grin.

Lots of fun and giggles even though I've had to stick to coffee and lemonade because of driving. I hope ice, rich and ilove have a great meet up as well.

Nickel45 · 29/12/2015 21:30

Hee hee pix :)
We're completely normal, aren't we Xmas WinkXmas HmmGrin

Ilovelblue · 29/12/2015 22:05

Evening all from a very windy Lancashire! Storms are supposed to hit us again overnight. If anyone watches (or watched the 6.30 pm) BBC news, it showed a village called Croston which has been flooded and which is expected to flood again tonight or tomorrow. It's about 5 miles away from me. I saw the RAF helicopter going overhead about 2pm delivering sandbags to shore up the river bank.

Jen when I met up with Nickel in the summer, we both found it really odd to be able to speak out loud about OG. Whereas at first we thought we would be overheard, we soon realised that the majority of people round us were rich little Oriental ladies far more interested in looking at their bargains (we were at the Bicester outlet village). They probably wouldn't have known BA/CJ if they'd fallen over him.

Been to visit my friends' new house today. It was freezing cold - they're more or less gutting it and starting from scratch. They were stripping the walls prior to the builders going in. It's a good job they're not actually living there, wise move - lucky they can afford not to I guess.

KellyHb · 29/12/2015 23:33

Evening all.

Just got back from seeing Star Wars. It was fab!!! And I won't give any spoilers. Can't believe how good Harrison Ford still looks though. He's pretty handsome in this.

Loved our meet up pix!!! I'm only a middle aged hairy man on a weekend though. Grin Very nice chatting and having some wine and cider.

It was so fab to chat about things OG too instead of typing about it. pix can confirm my love for CJ & Molly is still going strong. Wink

pixieg1rl · 29/12/2015 23:47

Yes, I can testify to the quality of Kelly's shave. In a dim light you'd really never tell. GrinGrinWink

Ilovelblue · 30/12/2015 10:50

Morning all. Must be quiet on here today if I'm the first at 10.43! The wind was awful last night, pretty much as predicted and not expected to drop until early afternoon but the rain fortunately hasn't been as bad as forecast. It's torrential at the moment but they're showers rather than continuous.

For any gardeners out there, this is my witch hazel which has been in full bloom for at least two weeks now - at least a month earlier than usual. I acquired it from my godmother's garden after she'd died in early 2006 and she'd had it 20 years by that time (after her own mother had died). It cost me £35 as I had to pay somebody to dig it up and I wasn't certain it would transplant but has flowered every year since.

Ilovelblue · 30/12/2015 11:00

Whajeb and Jen - how are you affected by the storm?

pixieg1rl · 30/12/2015 12:15

Gorgeous witch hazel ilove. I want one for my garden, along with a spindle.

Life here has slowed to a glacial pace, I'm not out of my pjs yet. In a week I'll be kicking myself for not getting on top of all those little jobs that I never have time to do, but for now I'm enjoying the inertia.

Hope everyone is dry, the storms are barely registering here, a bit windy and that's it really.

KellyHb · 30/12/2015 12:29

Quick hello.

Were packing now and more or less out the door for the drive home. Its soo windy here. Hope the journey is a hell of a lot less than it was to get here.

Have a good day everyone. Yes hope everyone is safe with the weather they're having.

Richtea19 · 30/12/2015 12:41

The witch hazel is beautiful as is your photography! You must have a good camera ilove-

Very windy here today, we had a walk down to our local farm shop and managed a coffee and cake when we got there! And blown away on our walk back.

Fingers crossed for everyone effected by the weather.

pixie I'm the same re. Jobs. So much to do but I just can't be bothered!

kuiakaituhi · 30/12/2015 12:54

Happy New Year, everyone. Our clocks turn over 13 hours ahead of yours,an extra hour because we're on daylight saving.
For Manu Bennett fans, like Woof, there's a big, new made in NZ series starting this week,The Shannara Chronicles due to start over the next few days. Manu has a starring role. Made by MTV, I think from aseries of books by Terry Brooks. Getting rave advance notices.
Take care when travelling in your awful flooding weather. Some if it looks pretty grim on our news.

moojangles · 30/12/2015 12:55

As you've all said, hope everyone is dry and safe.

Ilovelblue · 30/12/2015 14:29

Richtea and pixie I'm feeling bloomin' lazy too. I had a few sewing jobs lined up and some tidying in the attic but so far have done nothing with any of those things and am enjoying having a snooze every afternoon about 4pm! Am having a cooking fest this afternoon though - making soups for the freezer and the meal for tomorrow night (having friends round). Another job I should be doing is cleaning the kitchen as it's a tip!

The wind has dropped here now thankfully and the rain has stopped.

MaddieMoo82 · 30/12/2015 14:36

Hello all. Hope everyone is ok in this weather. kelly hope you have a safe journey back and the roads aren't too bad. Jealous of all the meet ups.... Mine are just with mil... 3 in 5 days is quite enough for me! Hmm

Is anyone planning on watching war and peace on Sunday... Looks good on the trailers and according to an article I read earlier this adaptation has been sexed up a bit Grin

Onlygirljen · 30/12/2015 14:45

It's pretty bad up here ilove, lots and lots of localised flooding. Just been out for a food shop and had to avoid half the roads I would usually take because of flood related closures. Luckily we live at the top of a hill! I spent the whole of yesterday in pyjamas, kind of wish I'd taken the same approach today.

I had so many plans for stuff I would get done over the holidays, but I'm accepting the fact that very few of them will actually be done! The only thing I've achieved is significant Christmas weight gain and finally getting a chance to sit down and write. Never mind, have very much enjoyed the rest after a really hectic few months Smile

Nickel45 · 30/12/2015 15:03

Hope you are all keeping safe. Really windy here, but ok and dry. Ooh, like a weather report! Taking the kids to some new big trampoline place later, in the highly unlikely hope that it will wear them out!

mads where are you? Anywhere near the m25 or m40? It's so lovely meeting up with people on here :)

moojangles · 30/12/2015 15:19

Well remembered mads, set up on series link. The meeting up going on is cool.
Christmas chez mooj all packed up and back in the loft. Mr mooj and I are going away for new year and then he'll be decorating the house with kit and bergens, yay!
A very belated thanks to jen for the wonderful one shot

pixieg1rl · 30/12/2015 15:40

Lucky you finding time to write Jen. I've mostly been drinking, eating chocolate and watching outlander. Up to episode 7, and Jamie's shirt was off for most of it Wink

Onlygirljen · 30/12/2015 15:46

See I've not actually started Outlander yet, that might be why! Still recovering from yesterday's AT fest, watched all of And Then There Were None on iplayer my garden wasn't the only thing flooded after that Grin

Thanks mooj. I'm highly jealous that you've got rid of the Xmas stuff, it's always around now that I start getting antsy to get rid of ours.

pixieg1rl · 30/12/2015 17:56

I had all sorts of intentions to finish things like FF and get my work under control before Xmas, so I wouldn't let myself start Outlander before then. It's OK, I have no idea how it plays to a Scottish audience, it isn't a period of history I know much about, and one character's accent in particular is excruciatingly bad. It's not Brigadoon-terrible but there's moments when I cringe a little.

Ilovelblue · 30/12/2015 18:12

Managed an hour tidying up in the garden and hacking back the corkscrew hazel. Sitting catching up on emails and so forth now plus popping in and out on here and decided it must be at least a month since I last watched OG so currently part way through episode 4.

MaddieMoo82 · 30/12/2015 18:49

Series linked here to mooj as probably won't be able to catch it Sunday nights unless a miracle occurs but looks good. Am also jealous you are packed away, planning on doing it this weekend.

thanks nickel but unfortunately I am in deepest darkest Devon but if anyone is ever down here on your summer holidays let me know! Grin

Have outlander on DVD and am already looking forward to episode 7! Like you jen I very much enjoyed AT in his latest offering probably enjoyed him a bit too much
