Corrie thread - we haven't even got a dog storyline to keep us going now

A new thread as we head towards the worst part of every soap year - Christmas.

Dreading the return of Simon.

Dreading more of the arr Gareh & Alya "plot".

When did the brewery close and become a convenient empty garage?

Make yourself at home and get ready for more totally hopeless acting - it has to improve soon, surely?

What adverts?

And do they mention Emily's exit scenario (described above) as well as what, if I've read it right, is a Platt pregnancy?

I'm not trying to dictate how this thread should be, BTW. As I mentioned above, spoilers used to be linked not described, and I checked because that's was happy with. If that's changed, that's fine, just not a thread for me now.

unimaginativename13 · 24/11/2015 18:24

I am sorry

That information has actually been shown on all the coronation street adverts in general so would have assumed it was general knowledge that they weren't waiting to reveal in the show

lizzydrippingsghost · 24/11/2015 18:32

isnt this sarahs 3rd pregnancy and also whats happened to marys book she was writing was that another non story

AnneEyhtMeyer · 24/11/2015 19:10

Angua, Emily isn't leaving permanently, just a break, and as these tend to be flagged months and months in advance (unlike Steve's exit due to illness) it isn't really a spoiler at all.

The Sarah-Lou pregnancy ad has been on immediately following the show several times so difficult to keep it a secret, it isn't the same as something written on a spoiler site or a magazine. Also, Sarah-Lou and pregnancy go hand in hand.

We're pretty good on here not mentioning spoilers on the thread, so please stay.

Can I just say that Mary is one shining light in the other wise grey Corrie sky line. Grin

WotNoLoobrush · 24/11/2015 22:08

Sarah-Lou and pregnancy go hand in hand. Grin.

I agree the character of Sarah is annoying but I'll never forget how good the actress was in the live episode.

DeepBlueLake · 24/11/2015 22:55

You would think Sarah would know a thing or two about contraception and where babies came from after two teenage pregnancies Grin

I imagine Leanne had more important things on her mind than having a scrap with Tracy Barlow.

Rachel0Greep · 25/11/2015 06:00

It's just another oh-so-predictable storyline. I saw it on the cover of a soap mag one day, while standing in the queue at the supermarket and just thought BORING!

Eastie77 · 25/11/2015 08:19

Why does everyone keep saying Leanne can't have kids? She fell pregnant with Nick's baby when they were teenagers/married the first time round, think she had an abortion in the end, and she also had a miscarriage when she was with Peter.

The Simon storyline is ludicrous really. Just send him to live with his dad permanently! I don't understand why everyone is getting tied up in knots trying to deal with this thuggish brat while Peter gets off scot free and is allowed to live it up in Portsmouth with his latest squeeze. Ken is too old to be dealing with this shit and Leanne is just weak (have to agree with Tracy, she's handled this all wrong).

SymphonyofShadows · 25/11/2015 12:12

I thought the same about Leanne and Rob. Tracey would go nuclear so it might be worth watching!

Rachel0Greep · 25/11/2015 12:41

I should have said, in my post, the oh-so-predictable storyline was Sarah being pregnant. Plus it has been on the cover of soap mags for weeks.

Yes, definitely a spark there, between Leanne and Robert. It must be really convenient to fall in love with people already living nearby Grin.
I can just see Sophie and Kate (Connor) becoming a couple too, I've probably already said that upthread.

I notice in the recent boring garage scenes, the only ones there are Luke and Sophie. I thought the place was supposed to be busy Grin.

I liked when Kim Tate / Erica said to Mary about being friends, I think it could be funny if they had some scenes together.

SymphonyofShadows · 25/11/2015 15:08

Kim Tate is underused at the moment. She's a decent actress so it's a pity they are giving her all the available men storylines. Nick then Dev, how grim? At least she is resisting this time though

Rachel0Greep · 25/11/2015 16:05

I agree about her being underused, and Corrie needs to use all the talented people, to compensate for the ones who have little or no acting talent.

lizzydrippingsghost · 25/11/2015 18:37

ericas eyes make me laugh, they look like they are going to pop out of her head when she starts a conversation

Wishful80smontage · 25/11/2015 18:56

Just seen on the corrie FB that a character is returning- think it could be quite interesting but opinion divided on there- wont post the name on here (in case people don't want spoilers) but its on corrie FB page.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 25/11/2015 19:09

Oh my goodness, that character was crap and pointless the first time round, so why bring him back? They must be purposefully trying to finish off the show.

OP posts:
southeastdweller · 25/11/2015 19:40

Oh I really liked that character though I don't think I was meant to! Fab news.

I'd love to discuss a possible story for this character but won't mention the name.

SweetestThing · 25/11/2015 20:41

I can't find it on the Corrie FB page :(

southeastdweller · 25/11/2015 20:45

Link here

SweetestThing · 25/11/2015 21:15

Thank you :)

SweetestThing · 25/11/2015 21:16

Ooooohhh!!!

eddiemairswife · 25/11/2015 22:32

That should be interesting.

soulsurfer · 25/11/2015 23:21

Oh no, that's horrible.

Corrie used to be something you could watch to switch off from the rest of the world.

Now it's burying dead bodies, 'revenge porn', horrible, nasty bullying children, domestic violence, a little girl with cancer, and now the return of a character who was about as horrible and nasty as you can get.

Where is the sweetness, the comedy, the light relief? Sad I don't want to watch a northern Eastenders. I've got enough crap going on in my own life I don't need to feel tense and anxious when I'm watching the TV to try to wind down!

DeepBlueLake · 25/11/2015 23:50

I think Leanne's fallopian tube got damaged after the miscarriage.

I know, it's all about 'issue' storylines currently :(

I was cheering at the telly when Robert called Tracy a bitch. She's obviously forgotten she wouldn't have this problem if she never set the flat on fire as Kal would never have died.

ThatsNotMyRabbit · 26/11/2015 01:24

I punched the air when Robert snapped at R-Tracy :-D
