Baconyum · 08/10/2015 22:28

Me 3!

G1veMeStrength · 08/10/2015 23:02

Awww she WAS pregnant. I couldn't have gone on the run in early pregnancy. I hope she joins MN!!

Baconyum · 08/10/2015 23:06

I was more thinking

'Ouch! He's gonna watch this, realise she thought she might be, didn't tell him and so basically the hunters knew before he did!'

Plus she was having dodgy food for early pregnancy. Hope her and baby OK following the experience.

SurlyCue · 08/10/2015 23:07

g1ve you know when the man was saying "she could be waiting results" etc. im assuming he had found a clue, what was it? I was MNing and not really paying attention.

G1veMeStrength · 08/10/2015 23:10

He hadn't really found a proper clue just found out she had called a medical centre 5 times before they were hunted. So as they were recently married he thought she must be pregnant which would be a crime on MN but turned out he was annoyingly right...

SurlyCue · 08/10/2015 23:20

Ahhh!! I was about to get outraged on her behalf because she could have been ill, or have an ongoing appointment or doing it for a family member but i suppose they only showed him saying that because they knew she did turn out to be pregnant. They wouldnt have shown it if it hadnt turned out that way would they?

UnGoogleable · 09/10/2015 09:21

Hmm I'm more and more convinced the whole thing is well choreographed. Emily's idea to send her bank card to her Mum and get her to withdraw money to give them a red herring was very clever.

But then to decide to turn up at her Mum's house just moments after she made the withdrawal.... what are the chances of that, and why would she do that knowing full well that her Mum was likely to do that...?

She could have visited her Mum, left her bank card with her, then told her to make the withdrawal a few days after she left...

SurlyCue · 09/10/2015 09:26

Yes i think some of the "close calls" or captures are a bit too "lucky".

UnGoogleable · 09/10/2015 09:31

Yes and as someone else said, when they're 'hiding' from the Hunters, and you see a shot of the car driving around.... wouldn't the camera person standing in the road filming that kind of give them away...!?!? So they have to ignore the cameras and only act if they see the people themselves, I suppose.

BobandKate0 · 09/10/2015 15:51

I'm also starting to suspect its a bit fake, when they suss out the prey may be in yorkshire etc they always get there really quick in time for a near miss.
case in point was the chap who was in a village pub and thought the landlady might phone the hunters so he left, but the lady in the black car turned up approx 5 mins later - like she was waiting round the corner.

thunderbird69 · 09/10/2015 17:36

How did the MIL and BIL get caught, I got distracted.

Disappointed that the married couple were caught, I liked them. I thought their friend was going to run off pretending to be him and then he would sneak out afterwards in a different direction

breward · 09/10/2015 17:48

I am pleased Emily is on the run still after 19 days. She has been hitch hiking lifts. What I want to know is, where has been sleeping at night for £150 for 19 days? At least now she has £250 for the final 9 days... she could stay in a travel lodge!!

What happened to the man in the field who was grassed up by the pub lady and had the hunted team out with torches?

I'm loving the series. How many more episodes are there?

OddlyLogical · 09/10/2015 22:34

I suspect there has been a bit of cheating going on. The hunters always seem to know exactly which friends phones they need to check!

I am amazed those 2 girls are still going but I'm kind of rooting for them now. I don't understand how she can leave her child though.
The couple I felt sorry for, but why the hell did they send the postcard? Why wind the hunters up? they are just going to put all their efforts into finding you.

Zetetic · 10/10/2015 11:50

Does anyone have the link to volunteer for the next series?

Zetetic · 10/10/2015 11:50

(not for me) I know someone who would be amazing.

BondGate · 10/10/2015 12:23

Would it not be on the channel 4 website?

I'm enjoying watching this, but the thought of someone actually wanting to volunteer for this is a bit baffling to me.

Zetetic · 10/10/2015 13:07

Had a look on website & couldn't find it.

BondGate · 10/10/2015 13:20

I wasn't paying a lot of attention, but I'm pretty sure they gave some details at the end of the most recent episode. Maybe if you try watching that bit on catch-up?

thunderbird69 · 10/10/2015 13:40

Anyone taking part in the next series will have had the advantage of seeing what not to do in this one.

UnGoogleable · 10/10/2015 13:45

Although surely what not to do is pretty obvious - don't find a safe place then phone home from there. Don't actually return home. Don't use your cash card in populated areas and then hang around. Don't make plans by email...

I'd love to do it. I'd draw out all my money (are they allowed to do that?) then go off grid somewhere totally unconnected to me. They'd never find me Grin

Zetetic · 10/10/2015 13:46

Good idea Bond. I half watched it but missed the details at the end so will look at catch up. Will post details if I'm successful.

I'm not sure that the contestants have been aware of how often they, or someone helping them, have been caught on CCTV - for instance, withdrawing cash and then getting in a vehicle that can then be tracked.

I didn't realise how easy it is for them to find a vehicle, also I didn't know that they would be monitoring friends and families phones and bugging their homes. I also think that as soon as you know you've been picked for the show, you'd do well to delete social media accounts and if you want to do any research on where you are going to go/survival techniques etc. go and do them in a library or similar so you leave no trace for the hunters to follow. Make any purchases, for things to take with you, with cash not card. Also don't leave your phone at home for them to go through!

Change your appearance too, in case they put out appeals to the public. I think the girl with the young child has been doing this well, by swapping clothes, but could also do well to do something with her hair. And get some glasses. Or do what the other girl did and get face-painted as a clown! (that's been my favourite bit so far)

thunderbird69 · 10/10/2015 16:13

Although having said that, having someone following you all the time filming does make you stand out somewhat!

Pipbin · 10/10/2015 16:21

Just caught up - I don't understand how they got the text that the married couple's friend sent. No way were they monitoring her phone, did they really monitor the phones of every single friend of theirs? Also, she clearly suspected she was pregnant, why did she do this if she thought she was.

Also, when Emily get a lift after seeing her son and mum who was filming as they were filming from inside a car.

I personally think that the camera person is phoning in each night reporting back who will make good telly. The asian brothers were no fun as they were staying in family and friends houses. The man and his MIL from this week were no good to watch as they just sat in one caravan. However, Emily is great entertainment as she is someone everyone can have an opinion of, if they like her or not, would she drive them insane, should she have left her son..... I think they are letting her stay on the run as she has the best personality for a TV program.
