DH says your best bet is to burn all forms of communication immediately. Dump all electronics, hitch as far as possible, rough sleep, blag passage or stow away on a boat and get out of the country.

If I was on the run I think I'd go to our local post office. You could easily queue there for a month. Nothing works there so I doubt they'd have CCTV running.

Oh no, I meant in general if you wanted to disappear, your best bet is to get out of the country. Otherwise, it's really bloody difficult to just disappear.

You're also very much hindered by the fact that your family and friends are probably inherently honest. If you really were the sort of person who needed to disappear, I doubt your nearest and dearest would be willingly handing over every detail about you and you'd live your life in a way that didn't leave clues all over the place.

It's bloody interesting though. I've told DH I'd just stay in my shed and tell him to lie about my whereabouts. Worth a shot.

DH and I are just debating rural or city. I would go with a city. There may be CCTV but if you get a haircut and look different and ditch the sodding rucksacks, then that wouldn't matter.

I'd have got all the cash out in one go then hitched my way to somewhere rural. Stay off the motorways and out of towns. Mid Wales would be good. I thought the dark haired woman was going to smack the woman who stopped her!

Re: the CCTV, I presume the production company has CCTV maps and will let the tracker team have camera footage that would correspond with CCTV
